You treated me
Like no man
ever have!
I felt loved.
I felt cherished.

Now I feel
like a fool.
The illusion
is gone.
My eyes have
been opened.

Perhaps your
intentions
were nobel.
Atleast
that is what you
told
your friends.

You were
the one.
Who loved
the unloveable.
The one
others scorned.

You were the hero
the one
who said
God was in
this.

An unused
wedding dress
hanging in the
closet.
Never going
to be used.

Perhaps
God was
in it.
But now
it is time to
move on.

I am not
letting
your empty
words
hurt me.

Anymore.

You're right, when someone proves themselves unworthy of someone who wants to believe in them, wipe them out of the memory banks. No sense in wasting precious time, God bless you!

Seems if you write a poem to them, they still must have quite a bit of influence on your actions.

"you were the one who loved the unloveable?"
does that mean you regard yourself as unloveable?

also i get a sense that you found him patronising or condescending. His Christian status hollow.

Thank you. It wasn't very spiritual this time, but I needed to write it out of my system.

Yes. He was in one way condescending. He posted a fundraising campaign where he portraid me as very pitiful and himself the hero for loving me. Under his full name and with my picture and diagnosis!

I have felt unloveable for many years. Not that I don't feel loved in an agape way at work and at church, but the Eros way has been absent. That is why I forgave him even the fundraising scam, clinging to the illusionof being loved.

Sometimes it is very hard to forget someone who we have loved and had hopes for..
Sometimes only time can dissipate the... humm right word?? Haunting...

We grow strong
Till the mourning's gone

We walk on.
