Nolte: Netflix Releases ‘Gay Jesus’ Christmas Special

Netflix has just released a “gay Jesus” Christmas special called The First Temptation of Christ.

The Brazilian comedy group Porta dos Fundos (which literally translates to “back door”) appears to have a real hang-up about our Lord and Christianity in general. Last December the group released The Last Hangover on Netflix, a movie that blends Christ’s Last Supper with his disciples and The Hangover into a night of drunken debauchery where Jesus disappears. This year, in this new Christmas special, Jesus turns 30 and brings his gay boyfriend home to meet Mary and Joseph.

Already, 1.14 million Brazilians have signed a Change.org petition asking Netflix to remove the movie.
Here’s a reviewer’s description:
The setup is that Jesus (Gregório Duvivier) attends his 30th birthday surprise party with his boyfriend Orlando (Fábio Porchat). The party, thrown by José (Rafael Portugal) and Maria (Evelyn Castro), has a number of high-profile biblical guests, including God (Antonio Tabet), which prompts plenty of debate about parental rights and responsibilities as Christ grapples not just with his parentage but with his own spiritual journey.
The real story here is how Christians are reacting… Some are signing petitions, others are praying for the souls of all involved, most of us are rolling our eyes and moving on with our lives — because that’s what Christians do. We don’t lop off people’s heads, which is why it is always open season on us, which is to our credit.

Personally, I wouldn’t sign a petition or call for a ban on this — or anything. If you want to live in a free society and country, you have to grow a thick enough skin not to care about this stuff. But that doesn’t mean I’m not taking notes…

If you’re a satirist, you satirize everyone equally.

If you’re a bigot, you single certain groups out for mockery and place others off limits.

In this way, lazy, cowardly garbage like The First Temptation of Christ is useful — it exposes who the bigots are, and if this so-called comedy troupe wants to produce a “Gay Mohammed” special for Ramadan and Netflix wants to stream it, I will take it all back.

Amen!
If we can contact this bunch we should tell them that. But I suspect they value their lives, and heads, so I don't see such a thing being programmed for TV anytime soon.
Given the subject matter of this thread, I have to tell you the title of this thread is a hoot. Bottom is a term used in the male homosexual community. I'll leave it to the curious to find out what it refers to.

My question is....is it funny?
I suspect not. just cheap anti christian gags.
Life of Brian was not anti Christian. In fact it made me think more deeply about the story of Jesus.

Wouldn't be the first time Jesus is made fun of. Nor would it be the last.

Hope Jesus has thick skin. Being mocked and ridiculed isn't fun. Trust me, I know.

"Crucified, set free, crucified, set free, " "Really?" "No, just kidding, crucified!"

 LoB was a riot.

Monty Python and The Holy Grail - Black Knight HD
In the world of snowflakes today Monty Python humor would never be allowed to make a go of it. I'm glad it aired before all the odd changes in the world. Funny stuff.

Of course LoB is a whole different ball game in comparison to the Blasphemy of claiming Christ was gay. Not really all that surprised though when some years ago the queer bible was published; the queen james version. Playing on the old world slander that king James was gay, which he was not, and it was proven to be a lie someone he'd banished from court had started so as to smear his name.
But what are facts to a people that want to rewrite God's word so as to tell themselves they're OK in their own immoral sins? Tragic.

But all this was prophesied wasn't it? People will turn from sound teaching to false teaching and delusion?
In the end evil loses, so don't worry, just watch it all unfold as foretold. Those actors in that abomination reported in the OP have a surprise coming. We know this.
They don't.

i never liked last temptation of Christ with Willem Dafoe. Did anyone like that? i need to watch that again. It shocked me at the time despite being in a lapsed Catholic phase. Not all shocking movies are bad.

I watched it when it was in theaters. I thought it was a unique take on Jesus crucifixion. Launching from when Jesus was in prayer prior to His crucifixion, pleading this cup be taken from Him.
The movie went from that scriptural account and projected the, what if....
What if Jesus could have chosen not to die on the cross?
I found it a bit slow going however, in the end I thought it was a great way to show the true impact of Christ's passion.

Guess some Christians would still have a problem with "crucified set free ....." I dont.

re sense of humour.... I never got into Blackadder or South Park but many people did. Guess I need the humility to admit everyone has a different sense of humour.

South Park believe it or not does a surprising justice to the book of Job on an older episode.

I cancelled Netflix after I saw this advertised and in the "Why did you cancel" section I told them why - I will not be part of a service that blasphemes my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I understand that. However from what I hear there are a few Christian things on it. Whether there good enough to justify keeping a subscription is another matter. Still if the petition is strong enough it might be removed
