Every Christmas my parents and brother and I would cut down a tree and have Apple pie and cider at the Apple tree farm next door. We also would play Mitch Miller Christmas sing along album and turn purple when we would sing 12 days of Christmas lol

We have candlelight dinners once or twice in December.
I love going Christmas caroling with my family.

And I really really really really love setting up and decorating the tree! Ugh! All I had to do this year was put the lights on it. Woohoo!!
If you didn't notice the sarcasm I don't like putting up the tree. My kids did a fine job of it this year. Oddly enough I loved it as a kid.

My family gets together Christmas Eve. We have food! Then watch a movie or 2. Then open presents before it’s too late because we have to travel 2 hrs back home.

Then on Christmas Day, we are just lazy at the house and then go out for Chinese food :D

December 1st, my family would get the Christmas decorations out, clean the spot where the tree will go, and clean around the area where the cards and other Knickknacks will go, and while getting the tree up and decorated we watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. That was my dads favorite movie and to this day I still carry on that same tradition in my home now. Christmas eve open 1 gift... then have Christmas with family on Christmas morning. Dad would cook the same meal for both Thanksgiving and Christmas because that was HIS tradition when he was little. So he carried most of it onto me... Too bad I can't cook or else I would do all of it just for him lol.

That song they sing called Christmas Canon (based on Pachelbel's 'Canon in D major') always makes me cry. I can't listen to it. If it comes on the radio I have to change the station..

Stay up real late by the fire on Christmas eve with some hot cocoa. While the magic of christmases long ago has faded as I've grown older , its still a nice time. Giving is better than receiving nowadays :)

Old family classic movies!! Elf, A Christmas Story, the old Ranken Bass stop motion specials too! That and lots of the old corny Christmas music. I haven’t been able to plug into it yet but I’m hoping to soon.

Dinner with family 2-3 get togethers .. A couple movies Christmas Story , Christmas Vacation maybe a couple old Bob Hope Christmas Specials .. Grinch , Charlie Brown .. Probably some fireworks for the grandkids one night .. More fireworks New Years Eve, College Football Bowl Games on through New Years Day .. Carry stuff and food from one house to the next ... It will be fun but nothing like 30-40 even 50 yrs ago when all the old timers were still around .
One of my favorite memories was my grandpa, people would come in his house go get something to eat , never ask just welcome and the place stayed full , then he'd slip off in the other room and take a swig of his brown liquor .. Next he'd have a big grin on his face with his brown fedora cocked back on his head, not a care in the world . And Christmas was on until New Years .. Grandma steady loving, working and serving the whole time
