It's too soon, Jay. It's too soon.

I would say 2 weeks is appropriate for Thanksgiving.

6 week is good for christmas.

Thanks for the rep, happy the scripture reached your spirit.

Also, great video narrow, once again, you nailed it.

Here is a powerful documentary about Halloween that just presents the facts. While rather old, it still conveys the appropriate information for Christians to view and take a stance regarding this unholy day. It's part of Jeremiah Film's old series about pagan practices entering the church. It's quite a good video to watch.

Great outlook. As Titus 2:15 illustrates to us all These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority Let no one disregard you.
Laura,
Titus 2:

2 But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, [SUP]4 [/SUP]so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, [SUP]5 [/SUP]to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; [SUP]7 [/SUP]in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, [SUP]8 [/SUP]sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, [SUP]10 [/SUP]not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, [SUP]12 [/SUP]instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, [SUP]13 [/SUP]looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, [SUP]14 [/SUP]who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

[SUP]15 [/SUP]These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.<<<<<<<<<<This verse tells us that we should speak and exhort the above verses and really has nothing to do with backing us up or justifying us as we argue our personal convictions which someone else does not share...

be careful which scriptures you use to justify your conviction.....this is taking something out of context and leads to deception...

Fortunately, that's not the meaning I was making of it at the outset nor the reason I employed it. You're correct in claiming taking things out of context leads to deception as was addressed in an earlier post of mine in this thread.

This thread was posted last October. I understand why it was topical then but why now? Surely there must be many other important things to discuss unless the date has been moved since then.

I agree, I have never used usury(credit) and have spent about a week trying to get across to the insurance company that if they charge me more for my car insurance because I have never established any credit it is discrimination based on my religion. I would say that was more important to discuss but I went to Dollar General and they had a box of chocolates marked down from Christmas(about a hundred peaces for five dollars) and so I don't have any excuse for not chasing the candy that gets marked down after the holidays,lol...

Sorry to hear that. Do they really ask you about your religion ? There are lots of companies/Insurers that get suspicious about people
who don't ask for credit because they think someone who doesn't is a bad debtor. The only religion they recognise is Mammon

What tell me is that they go by everyone's credit scores to decide the amount you will pay each month. If you have a low credit score then your premiums are higher. In my case I have never used credit because I built my home before they began the debit/credit stuff and so they said I don't have bad credit I have "No credit" and so it makes my monthly payment more.

I tried to explain to them that credit began in the 60's with diners club cards and that I had already purchased my home and have always paid cash because of my religion but they did not ask which religion they said it does not matter because the laws let them and others run our credit to base our apartment rent, insurance ect. from.

I suppose it makes sense if the one they are insuring doesn't pay money back that they borrow. My neighbor has tickets and has been in wrecks and his quote is cheaper than mine because of his credit score and I have never had a ticket or been in a wreck.

It's not a grey area for christians. It's wrong and shouldn't be indulged in. The problem is either ignorance and or a half heartedness with really making their every way in life committed to the Lord.. If people are more passionate about eating sugar, watching garbage and believing 'it's just dressing up' (an attitude which is an open door and a welcome sign to the enemy) then I pray that God reaches and teaches them otherwise.
Glad you enjoyed the post Mii and were able to take something away from it.
