Did you know that our Heavenly Father, God, accuses us of being ignorant pretty much throughout the Holy Bible? Yep, it's true. For instance, even His watchmen, like me, He says are ignorant; I have no excuse! His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Isaiah 56:10

I'm guilty, and it may get me, and everyone I should be warning, killed. As the LORD told us in Hosea 4:6, My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge! The point is, what if our Father told us when this earth age was to end, and none of us took it to heart? What if we refused to listen to Him? Impossible, you say? Okay, in my opinion, our Father told us plainly how long this flesh age was to last; even emphasizing it, telling us not to be ignorant of it. Read the verse below, and think about it, dwell on it, think about what it means.

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 11 Peter 3:8

Our Heavenly Father, through His only begotten Son, through the Holy Spirit, through His Apostle Peter is telling us this flesh age has a definite ending; in my opinion, 7,000 years. Where then, does that put our generation in the cosmic scheme of TIME? Well, it puts us exactly 6,000 years out from the creation of Adam (4004 B.C.). That is when TIME began counting down for us. We are at the end of 6 days, and the 7th day is about to begin, the millennial day.

Humor me, let's do one more. When was our Beloved crucified? Most Biblical "scholars" believe it was 29 A.D. In other words, exactly two days ago from our generation. Now, search the scriptures and you will read that Jesus Christ told us, emphatically, that He would rise again on the third day. Over and over again He made a point of it. We could even say He did not want us to be ignorant of this one thing.

Our generation will see that third day begin. All I'm saying is, as His watchman, I want to bark! It's up to each of us if we want to see and hear. Thanks for listening, may the Lord bless everyone on this forum

I would suggest that God admonishes us to NOT BE ignorant. Therefore Paul says over and over again "I would NOT have you to be ignorant, brethren..."

Today there is no excuse for anyone to be ignorant about what is revealed in Scripture. The Bible is freely available to all on the Internet. Nonetheless, and ironically, there seems to be more biblical ignorance today than there may have been 50 years ago. Some of the questions and statements on Christian forums reveal such ignorance.

At the same time only those who have been saved by grace and have the indwelling Holy Spirit can understand spiritual things. That is why Christ said imperatively: YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN.

Welcome to CC...

The day-millenium view is convenient, but easily refuted. First, Peter was writing about God's certain coming in judgment from a mid-first-century perspective, prior to His wrath on the Jews culminating in the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple. Second, Peter is contrasting God's timetable with a human timetable. Third, it's a simile, not a direct statement. Fourth, the simile is presented both ways, and the day-millenium view requires that only one way be valid and the other be completely ignored.

Finally, the slam dunk: Jesus rose already. He's not still in the grave, which your view would require. I'm not aware of anything in Scripture suggesting that there is another "third day" still to occur.

a thousand years in Thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night
(Psalm 90:4)
are we ignorant? yup.

may we continue to grow in knowledge of Him and in grace :)

per Psalm 90:4, or 6 to 8 hours, depending on whether we think of a 3-watch night or a 4-watch night.

As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent Me.
Night is coming, when no one can work

the Hebrew day begins with evening. so if He is saying it is day, then a night has passed. He's talking about the next day when He speaks of the time when no one can work. ______________:unsure:

Hosea 5:15 - 6:3 - [context: regarding Israel] -

"14b ... I, even I, will tear them to pieces
and then go away.
I will carry them off
where no one can rescue them.

15 Then I will return to My place
until
they admit their guilt and seek My face;
in their affliction
they will earnestly seek Me
.”

1 Come, let us return to the LORD.
For He has torn us to pieces,
but He will heal us;
He has wounded us,
but He will bind up our wounds.

2 After two days He will revive us;
on [/in] the third day He will raise us up,
that we may live in His presence.

3 So let us know—
let us press on to know the LORD.
As surely as the sun rises,
He will appear;
He will come to us like the rain,
like the spring showers that water the earth [/like the latter rains unto the earth].

Thanks for that. Reading this thread with that at the end is having a pleasing effect on me.

@watchman333 ignorance of some things there is no excuse...specificity that only the Lord possesses most certainly is excusable.

I don't focus on dates myself...I've tried to figure it out but there's time enough and yet no time to lose. I endeavor not to share too much private revelation but keep watching. Vigilant, alert, and awake.

It is an interesting profession, a watchman. Note that no watchman is required to keep 24/7 watch. It is a collective effort. Spiritually speaking sleep isn't prescribed, but rest is. There are many things to look out for in the interim. Certainly a watchman is not to sleep. Much like with physical guarding, when one notices the onset of sleep deprivation (in this case rest deprivation) be sure to take needed nourishment :)

What if the people in Hosea 4:6 are destroyed is because they are ignorant of one thing and aren't aware that it isn't his people that don't know what that one thing is?

All I'm saying is, as His watchman, I want to bark!
Not sure if you are aware of it or not but a dog that barks is still dumb. The term dumb refers unto the inability to speak, yet if one equates the bark of a dog to the gift of speaking in tongues (communicating using words) then can a dog bark without making a sound. But yet a man can speak in tongues without saying a word.

we think its been what a tad over 2 thousand years? Yet to God it is also a tad over 2 days. We don't see it as He does.
So if we don't see it as he does then how many hours are in a night?

Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day?

If any man walk in the day, he stumbles not, because he sees the light of this world. John 11:9
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him. John 11:10
So are there 1,000 years in the night too?

Thanks, Message. I was thinking of using the fig tree knowledge in my next post.

When the Hebrew Lunar Calendar was compiled by our forefathers, they used the genealogies of Genesis to go to the beginning.
Because the genealogies leave out some of the actual lifespans of some mentioned in the Word it is only complete in the sense of the only lifespan s known. This is because of the understanding of not adding to nor taking away from the Word of our Father.
This said and uinderstood, the year 5780 could just as well be in fact 5993, HOWEVER NO ONE CAN BE CERTAIN OF THE DAT, Nor the time, only our Maker..
The fuilfillment of all is at the dorrway, I believe...but then so did many at the time of Stephen.

I cant believe that by calculating the end using the 1000 year /three day system we can have any idea when its all finished.
If Peter had this in mind then Christians would just sit on their Butts for 2000 years and only stir when things started to feel
urgent.

I'm not getting into the Millennium argument here but to the Hebrews and Greeks certain numbers such as 1000 represent
certain things and 1000 can represent a long length of time as well as the literal sense we are used to.

Of course we are. Thanks be to the Lord and is way of dealing with such:

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

no He has never said that to me but I see plenty of places where He says that to those whom He choose to represent Him in the OT

a watchman is pretty much an OT concept. each Christian now has the Holy Spirit residing within and I can vouch for the fact that He is a better 'watchman' than any person on this planet

now if people do not avail themself of Him, that is a problem as God states plainly why He has sent His Spirit...ignorance is no excuse...God says ask Me for wisdom...instead people run to those who look like they have something going on

there are no more OT prophets and we no longer need a Moses and technically, should be aware and self aware with regards to God speaking to us through His Spirit

ideal world.

yeah I know it is isn't one size fits all but it should be because the Bible was not written to one person but to all
