SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a red-flag gun bill Tuesday that will allow state district courts to order the temporary surrender of firearms, and she urged sheriffs to resign if they still refuse to enforce it.
Flanked by advocates for stricter gun control and supportive law enforcement officials at a signing ceremony, Lujan Grisham said the legislation provides law enforcement authorities with an urgently needed tool to deter deadly violence by temporarily removing firearms from people who pose a threat to themselves or others.

Red flag laws violate the 2nd amendment and due process. My home state has a red flag law in place. It's the matter of the citizens apathy in large part that makes these type laws pass without opposition. Unfortunately, when a country is disarmed and oppressed by their government that began the campaign by eroding civil liberties as a matter of what was labeled necessity for the common good, if a people did not commit to due diligence and resist, they will then suffer what apathy gained them.

Don't ever give up your guns. They're the only thing that stands between you and tyranny. People shouldn't fear their government. Government should fear their people. An old saying and yet in this time, when the government fears its people it tends to make laws that make itself less afraid.And in the process make its people less free.
