Not trying to jack this thread so I'll be brief. The history of slavery from the 17th to the 20th century is an interesting study. About 40% of the slaves taken from Africa ended up in South America and there isn't much written about that

Your thesis is correct but your numbers are vastly understated.

About 10.7 million Africans survived the crossing. Out of that number ONLY 388,000 landed in North America. A little more than 5%. Yet America gets the gigantic lion’s share of the blame and shame over this atrocity.

Accurate numbers and stats on mostly anything are hard to come by anymore. And yes you're right that North America gets the larger share of blame. So it is wise to do ones own research with an eye toward bias to determine truth.

BTW - the term used today is 'human trafficking' not slavery. PC?

yes, Penn,
America has been demonized for it's 'bad-behaviour', but it seems as though the OTHER guilty PARITES are 'un-scathed'...

our small % of evil-behavior doesn't justify wickedness, it just shows how 'un-just' man's judgment' is...

as it is written:
"Thy Kingdom Come'...

Largest study of the patients infected with 2019-nCoV in China

A recent report provides a comprehensive look at the symptoms, clinical findings, and treatment of the patients infected with 2019 novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China.

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China has now spread to 24 countries across the world. What started as several cases of pneumonia with an unknown cause in December 2019 has now increased to over 25,000 cases of infection (as of 5th February 2020) with the 2019 novel-Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and the latest death toll is 491 fatalities.

An analysis of the epidemiological pattern and clinical findings from the first 99 patients admitted to the Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, China, was published in the journal The Lancet on January 29th 2020. The patients in this study included the first reported cases of patients infected with 2019-nCoV. The authors included clinical records, imaging data, laboratory results, and epidemiological data from patients admitted between January 1 and January 20, 2020 in this report.

Demographics of the patients

The demographic profiles of patients infected with 2019-nCoV:

Most of the patients are middle-aged with an average of 55.5 years.

Majority of the patients are male; 67 of the 99 patients are men.

Over 50% of the patients suffered from chronic diseases including cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (40 patients) and diabetes (12 patients).

Epidemiological pattern

Close to half of the patients initially affected had a history of direct exposure at the Huanan seafood market where the infection is thought to have originated. Of the 49 patients with direct exposure, 46 patients worked as managers or salespeople, thus exposing them to the virus over a longer period of time as compared to the shorter exposure of the two patients who were shopping at the market.

Signs & symptoms of coronavirus infection

The most common symptoms described by the patients were fever (82 patients) and cough (81 patients). A third of the patients (31) experienced shortness of breath. Other symptoms experienced by around 5 to 11% of the patients included muscle ache, confusion, headache, and sore throat.

Clinical findings in patients infected with 2019 novel coronavirus

All the patients had pneumonia. The majority of the patients (75%) were infected in both lungs.

Many patients (17%) presented with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

About 8% of patients suffered from acute respiratory injury.

About 3% of the patients suffered from kidney damage; 4% of the patients suffered from septic shock, and one patient suffered from ventilator-associated pneumonia.

Five critically ill patients also showed coinfections with bacteria (1 patient) and fungi (4 patients).

Treatment and prognosis

All of the patients were treated in quarantine. The majority of the patients were treated with antivirals, for three to fourteen days. About 25 to 45% of the patients were treated with antibiotics for three to seventeen days. Most patients also received oxygen therapy. While most of the patients responded well to the treatment, with over thirty patients discharged by January 25th 2020, over half of the patients are still in the hospital. Seventeen patients developed acute respiratory distress syndrome and 11 of these patients died.

This study was the largest of its kind studying patients infected with 2019-nCoV, and provides critical information regarding the characteristics of this virus infection. As the numbers of infected patients keep increasing, additional information from larger studies is needed to help understand this infection and contain the spread.

The virus needs to get into the body once it is airborne...sneeze or cough.... I would think a face mask would be effective as long one does not touch their face.
Best advise wash your hands frequently.
Studies have shown about two hours in the air and several days on surfaces.

The problem with this virus is secondary infections ...like MERS and pneumonia that can follow...that is what will typically kill people.
Can the virus be transmitted to someone through the air only or Is It transmitted only from your hands to face?

I've read that the virus is NOT airborne in the sense that the virus can be inhaled or in some way float around in the air and get onto a person's eyes or skin. The virus CAN be spread by transmission from surfaces or projected bodily fluids. So you can touch something like a shopping basket handle and the virus can be spread when you scratch your eyes or nose with your infected hand. Someone who has the virus can also cough or sneeze and project bodily fluid directly on a person or a surface and infect another person that way. But it's not airborne.

It can however, more difficult since it needs to be in high enough concentration and it has to land somewhere where it can get into the body like eyes.

My sources are saying millions infected and more than 112,000 dead already.....It seems it cause drastic organ failure, destroys the kindeys rather quickly and people are dropping dead left right and center....no burials as all bodies are being cremated and it is far worse than we are being told.....

What are you hearing?
Yes .. not good for the USA as well.

Between 160 million and 214 million people in the U.S. could be infected over the course of the epidemic, according to one projection. That could last months or even over a year, with infections concentrated in shorter periods, staggered across time in different communities, experts said. As many as 200,000 to 1.7 million people could die.

And, the calculations based on the C.D.C.’s scenarios suggested, 2.4 million to 21 million people in the U.S. could require hospitalization, potentially crushing the nation’s medical system, which has only about 925,000 staffed hospital beds. Fewer than a tenth of those are for people who are critically ill.

Though I’m Christian and conservative, I live in a humanistic liberal cesspool part of America. It’s comical seeing signs in the grocery store stating certain products are being sold in limited quantities in order to better meet the needs of a greater number of people.

It seems the all loving, all caring liberals are hoarding products deemed necessary during this pandemic and have no concern or wherewithal for their fellow man, who happen to be overwhelming liberal themselves. 😆

anytime a population 'eats' = bats=rats=dogs=cats=snakes=swine=sickness,
this is what these Asian people EAT = the spreading of disease.
REMEMBER, (rats and bubonic plague)???
I've never Seen this with my own two eyes,I would more than likely cast a broad net over the whole race too If I saw people eating that If CNN was showing It.lol

what we did was listen to the World News, when it first came out and then we looked at some vids
of the common-street-markets in various Asian countries, and we saw first-hand' what they were
selling and eating...

Perhaps God allowed this scare so the NWO can be stumped .. It will be easier to promote national borders vs open borders and many in the EU are getting restless and tired of it and the censorship .... May 14 the pope is supposed to promote and have a big event selling his ''new humanism'' educational system with world religious and political leaders signing his agreement .... I'm like many others on this thread, my heart has not increased even one beat with concern over this virus thing .. Gas 1.64 yesterday in Greenville and 1.59 in Spartanburg , it's time to quit adding corn to make gas .. About 5 billion bushels were used last year could be used for food and feed in case of hunger ..

You know an entire generation of children had to raise themselves after the Chinese cultural revolution.... rather than view them in such low light perhaps some compassion on children who did whatever they could to survive and carried that behaviour onward not really understanding what they were doing.

Blame the historical despots if you will for surely they were evil men for what they did to the people of their own land.

And today evil is still there and hidden and most people are not even aware of what will befall them soon.

We can surely hope, yet the the infusion of money into the system is really the problem here, the government and most companies are already way over leveraged and we may be revisiting another great depression.... which will be the impetus for a cashless society.

Yeah, the fear factor they are using is quite alarming. They've got most of the world sitting at home hoping they will save us and in total fear right now. I don't know if most people realize this right now, but they are actually limiting our rights and we are allowing it. God only knows what the future holds.
