I never really got the western custom of shaking hands myself.

I'm like why? But apparently it was to show you werent concealing any weapons up your sleeve.

I prefer a friendly wave. If I do touch it will be a shoulder tap, but then children will hug me and give me all their germs anyway.

Im sorry it has come to this...just be careful folks and dont buy ALL the toilet paper, leave some for others.

If I have a cold or flu, I stay home. I will do the same if I get the corona virus.

While I am in church, I will hug those who need a hug, shake hands with those who want a hand shake, and avoid those who come to church sick because they feel it's a mortal sin to stay home for any reason.
Spot on.

In germany we are at over 1130 infected and 2 deaths since yesterday. Waiting for updates
In the UK we are now at 456 infections and rising quickly.

Some expect us to follow Italy's steep rise in 2 or 3 weeks. Whether that will mean the drastic restrictions Italy has imposed we have to wait and see.
The government is moving from the containment to the delay stage.

What I want to know is, how is fear-mongering, believing propaganda, and paranoia an acceptable reaction for Christians.

Thus far this virus is a minor when compared to something like the flu. the flu has killed 5,000 people inside the United States in the last 2 weeks. There has been something like 30 with this corona virus or whatever it is.

Are they pushing for people to be rooting in the streets?

Seems so. The mortality rate seems to stay between 2 and 3% in most larger studies.

(which again, is less than half of some modern flu strains which show to be as high as 7%)

I think the potential is greater. China and Italy show that ones it gets hold it spreads rapidly.
Unlike flu we have no immunity from vaccines or previous illness from it.

China is an malnourished population.
Italy has an older population... the deaths have been with people in their 80's and 90's.

Agree, as it stands now this virus is no more virulent than other strains except that it does have a longer incubation period.
There are two strains presently, one more virulent.

If it there is more mutation then it could become more deadly.

There's over 1,000 cases just in the U.S. alone..
I have been told just a few minutes ago by a relative works in medical field... numbers could increase significantly in the next few weeks in Canada and the USA.

We need to wash our hands and keep our hands away form our faces.

Limit one's travels in the community as much as possible.

Yesterday Jamaica confirmed its first case of corona. Today another case was confirmed.

Hand sanitisers have been cleaned off the shelves. So too wipes and tins of lysol as people are panicking. One store had to limit 2 lysols per person. Not sure if there are still masks available.

But what I'm hearing is that, mask are to be worn by the sick or those taking care or such persons. But I don't think anyone will follow that advice.

By the way, how long should one mask be worn? Is a new one needed everyday? Wow that's a lot of mask needed then...but will that demand be met?

Also the poor can't afford all these sanitisers and masks. May God have mercy upon us all.

I actually have not bought any of these items as yet. Just doing frequent hand washing, and trying really hard to avoid touching my face.

People are buying up extra food and all. I just think they are being selfish and silly. If it were up to some people they would buy out every item from the shops and leave nothing for anyone else.

They must think that all the factories everywhere will be locked down, so they have to panic and stock up on everything. Ridiculous. They are neither praying nor putting trust in God that He will see us through.

Here out government told us all to have enough goods for 2 weeks at home.
Its not selfish when people want to be safe and bug extra things. Uts just problematic if they get stuff for 2 years instead of 2 weeks

Wow, how people are so easily manipulated. This lying media has caused a minor virus to be a world wide panic.

That's stupid. It's not a minor virus. There are 100 people a day dying in Italy from the virus.

Well if the government has advised, then that's OK. Since its a method of keeping people more in doors.

However people in our case are just being silly.
