Aweee brother you are so kind to me and mine. I appreciate that more than you know. Familial hugs.
Listen though, I do plenty wrong, plentyyyy!!! Nonetheless, this is NOT about me, just Him... Him... Him. He is so Good and He loves us so much.

We will always be immeasurably blessed with HIM. He is enough!!!

I have noticed one silver lining to this virus cloud: Gas prices are the lowest I have seen in almost a decade.

That silver lining may turn into a nightmare when all of our fracking wells shut down. It isn't profitable to sustain their operation now.

So have any of you considered? Surely so...
It would indeed be amazing if there are those that receive salvation as a result of all the stress and hassle related to this virus. I am sure that all of this will indeed be a blessing no matter what the shape or form for a few, if not the many.

I agree that it is devastating. I agree with your keeping it real. It was a thought that crossed my mind and I pray that in the midst of the darkness, His revealing is found.

I do not agree completely that it is designed to simply to ease my own fears. We are called to think on what is pure and lovely. Nothing more pure and right than ppl finding God or drawing near. A hope for revival is always good. I did not intend to diminish all the devastation and loss. I am sorry for that. It is heartbreaking and concerning. We need to keep praying.

Btw, it isn't speculative, I know several ppl drawing near, more so now, myself included. I do regret the title of the thread and I do regret how I gave the impression of making light of a horrible situation.
I do apologize to all for I do 100% get what you are saying in regards to that.
You were not making light of the situation at all, but from your heart you could see a silver lining in all of the chaos and suffering. Amazing really. I wouldn't change a word in the title of the thread as it is certainly thought provoking in a positive way.

Sorry CharliRenee, didn't mean to imply I thought you meant it made things wonderful. I know you didn't. It was a response to subhumanoidal when he questioned does that make it wonderful. We can be realistic, but don't have to be bleak when we have our faith and hope. Look for the silver lining, which is what I believe CharliRenee was trying to do with her original post. Either we sink in panic and fear with the rest of the world or we do what we can for others with the time we're given. Like Peter we might sink temporarily, but the Bible says to build one another up. So we would do well to keep our minds focused on what is good, especially at times like this. So thanks for your post CharliRenee :)

PS Yes, I agree with tourist. Don't change the title. It's what caught my attention and I'm sure others are looking for positive things right now as well or there wouldn't be all these toilet paper memes and such :D

Well, i am glad you understand what I was saying. But to be honest with you, I can understand the need not to make light of it. I can see why anyone would or could read it as the focus being on the economy, rather than on the danger this virus poses. I agree with you, big time, in that we need to keep our thoughts captive that do not serve. I tell you what, though, it isn't always easy, especially now. I do have my fears for the well being of others and myself in all ways.

So we all take a deep breath of Yahweh/God

I work for a company that has an exclusive contract to distribute Nespresso coffee and accessories for the Nestle corporation.

Since coffee is considered a food my company has not been affected, at least as of now, by any lockdowns or quarantines. In fact, business is booming and the facility that I work in is shipping product 24/7/365. Currently, due to increased customer demand, we are on an expanded 6 day schedule. It can be tiring but I am grateful for the opportunity to earn extra money but at the same time feel bad for the less fortunate that have loss their jobs or laid off because of all the government restrictions.

Regarding increased customer demand, I am certain that a lot of that has to do with hoarding. The thing is, it seems that Nestle has an over abundant supply of coffee. Prices are still the same, in fact, there are many promotions that actually lower the price of certain blends with no limit on quantities.

I see plenty of sweet potential where I am currently at in the adventure of life.

God is still on the throne. If Corrie Ten Boom can praise God suffering the lost of her family while in a concentration camp during the Holocaust, so can we. God can use immense suffering to still bring people to him. I don't know why he is allowing this to happen at this point in history, but His ways are higher than our ways. I didn't hear anything of faith, of trust in God in your post. I don't think the OP is saying this is a wonderful moment in time. What she is saying there is a potential in all this suffering that one may come to God. One lost sinner coming home causes joy all over heaven.
Well you didn't hear my mention of trust in God because for over 2 years now I have been open about having abandoned my faith. Well, I was open about it until people on here began trashing me and falsely accusing me of things.
Regardless, even as a Christian I would have felt the same way. People keep wanting to make this event a positive. It's not.
And as Seoul pointed out, crisis conversions are not typically ideal. It's easy to pray and turn to God when you face your own mortality, but when it passes and you survive, most people suddenly forget.
Also there is a distinction between praising God in the midst of a trial vs spreading false idealism and justifying a world wide death event with speculation.
