Sometimes anxiety and panic attacks is all about having too much control over your life and circumstances. When you learn to let go of your life and circumstances by giving it to Jesus and leaving it with him the anxiety will lessen. When you start to see that this actually works you will let go more and more until the anxiety diminishes.
At every opportunity it will try to come back and you have to go through the same procedure over and over until you are confident it works. Just learning this process myself.
How has it been working out so far with this process? Is it helping with feeling less anxious for you?

Yes, I am a work in progress lol. I read two books that also helped with anxiety. As you trust more you are less anxious . As you trust Jesus with your circumstances you let go of your control. It is basically letting go of your habit of being in control and losing your fear of not being in control.

That's awesome Ruby. Indeed if you have a fear of not being in control, a exposure could be to put yourself in a situation where you don't feel in control and give control to Jesus. As for what situations bring on the feeling of not being in control, that can vary person to person. For some the situation could be riding along in a car with someone instead of driving. Others it could be as simple as going for a walk or leaving your phone home or even taking a nap.

What were the two books you read?

Hey I get anxiety and panic attacks. Started like 10 years ago. I've managed it mostly but certain things will trigger it, especially things that are out of my control it makes me spiral. I hate it and pray about it all the time. It has nothing to do with faith because if I didn't have faith it would be so much worse. God is the only one who can really make me feel better. I have been having pretty bad anxiety lately because of losing my job, and being in lockdown. I actually feel better when I work because It takes my mind off it. So yeh being stuck at home is driving me insane
I feel better when I work too. Losing a job is a hard thing and takes considerable time to even partially recover. On the plus side the lockdown is going to end soon, probably in a few weeks. Regarding the things being out of control, this is what you let go and let God. Yes, I know, easier said than done. I have said a prayer for God to readily address the anxiety and panic attack issues that hinders positive forward progress.

Yes, what do you believe that means?
What it says, and with everything , we are NOT to lean on our own understanding, read the word and then take it to the Father in Jesus name for what He desires we learn and grow in at that point. If our minds are "stayed on Him" there is no room for anything that isn't the Galatians 5 attributes of love, joy, peace, etc.

I was wondering if " perfect love casts out fear" if an example would be that of a person saving another because of their love. Basically that the love for the other person compels the action of saving even if their heart could simultaneously be racing.

The translation for "love" most used in the new testament that I have come to believe is "seeking the highest good of the other person and doing what is possible to do to meet that need".

Combat, perhaps is like that. I enjoy hearing from the Medal of Honor recipients who put aside their feelings and did what they were shown had to be done, the story of Desmond Doss is a great testimony, I believe he was seen praying all the time he was carrying troops to safety. I believe that is how we are to carry ourselves in these perilous times, in fact it is how we are "wired" or created to function.

I am looking for someone to talk to about anxiety.I feel like nobody knows exactly what people with anxiety go through on a daily basis. It’s been 9 years, I’m ready to move on from this , but something is holding me back. I keep all my feeling bundled up inside because I feel nobody will understand. Anyone who would like to talk about this through e-mail or text and form a relationship to try and help one another, let me know. If not, I ask you say a prayer for me, and everyone who suffers from this horrible mental illness.

God bless !
Yes. I had PTSD for most of my life. I feel you.

Neural Plasticity is a field that can teach us all how to rewire our brain. Dr. Caroline Leaf, has many helpful videos, Bessel Van Der Kolk wrote The Body Keeps the Score which I am told is used in PTSD classes.

I sat through Carolyn Leafs seminar here in Tasmania and asked her two questions. I asked her if she had included in her studies heavy metal toxicity of the brain (man brains of autism,, alzheimers and parkinisons suffers all have high levels of aluminium to name one metal) AND the effects of microwave radiation on the brains, as WiFi not only opens up the blood brain barrier just like polysorbate 80 (emulsyfier in vaccines and chemo) and glyphosate (weed killer) so metals can pass it BUT, it's also known that microwave radiation can cause 122 biological problems (according to the 1972 US NAVI unclassified NMRI studies) including neuropshychiatric effects like anxiety. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26300312 and her answer was negative. She had not included these important aspects in any of her studies as yet though she aware of the problems. Heavy metals are there to stay unless one actively detoxes from them by speeding up the mitochondria through various ways and other things. Just like a bullet needs to be acively removed via an operation so also heavy metals need to be activeley be removed. I love her work but I am also aware that is it limited.

Now on the aspect of supernatural healing. If I may share a bit. My wife and I have seen dozens of healings over these last 25 years when laying hands on the sick and commanding healing in His Name. I haven't walked in it much myself though, as pain and symptoms talk and therefore it is much easier to consider it done when you pray standing in faith for someone else. We saw Loucas Stott, who had acquired brain injury completely healed for example. He was 26, got electrocuted as a roof plumber by touching a electrical cable and laid there a long time feeling the electricity going through his brain. Could not cross the street on his own, lost his drivers licence and plumbing business and could only talk for five minutes and then his mind went blank and he could not remember a thing. Within 30 seconds he felt Gods healing when we spoke to this "mountain". Months later the optomotrist could not even see damage on his frontal lobe anymore while he was told he had four years to leave. That's now seven years ago so praise God! Loucas can even walk in healing for himself which is special, as I don't know that many. I myself haven't been able to be healed for chronic issues, just a few times for infections. We always end of prayer with You said it! We believe it! That settles it! God is good :)

I also had fought with anxiety in the past and I am sorry to hear that you also deal with it, so I want to tell you that we two are not alone in this case. When I was thirteen I fell into depression because of the death of my grandparents. They meant a lot to me and the idea that I would never see them again frightened me for months. I was grown up by them because my parents were very busy in my youth, so they were extremely important to me. Sadly, not everything lasts forever and they passed away putting me in depression which then transformed in anxiety. Happily I overcame those feelings with the help of psychiatrists and now I want to help eradicate social anxiety and depression, so no one will have to fight with those emotions alone.

Anxiety a very real problem. God can remove the stressful people and situations from our lives IF We allow and desire only HIM amen

This is how i'm finding me healing by spending time only with like minded people. I have been badly hurt by many I thought I could trust. Thanks be to God those days are over Praise God. ( Let go and let God handle the wicked) Just Love everyone most of all KING JESUS amen

Prayers and a gentle hug for all :) The Mrs.

I'm anxious a lot - not all the time, but a lot. I've learned recently - it's just a feeling. Now when I'm anxious, I just turn it over to God and ask for help not to be anxious. I'm not expecting him to take it away, because he's shown me that I should not give into the anxiousness - my action is required to get rid of it. Once I've done that, and turn back to him in prayer, I'm a lot better.

Summary: It's a feeling - God said we are not to be anxious, so your work is necessary to not feel anxious. He's not going to come down and slip you a Zanax. Take a few deep breaths!

I agree with you that anxiety is just a feeling. It is a feeling that can hit you hard, but you can beat it. I have heard resisting the anxious feeling by trying to make it go away often does not help. The advice I have hear about it was to go with the flow , to let it come and let it go. Seems more of a neutral peaceful stance in my opinion rather than fighting the feelings away.

It is good you are turning the feeling of anxiety to God. I have often felt a sense of peace during prayer times.
