Prior to my conversion several years ago while still attending the Roman Catholic church, I subscribed to NOSAS and I had no joy either and was miserable! Fear and bondage to IN-security is no way to live the Christian life. :cautious:

Working in hospice, I can count on one hand how many Catholics I served who understood God’s grace and experienced true joy and true peace because of it.

The new osas can not produce the genuine joy and peace of God, only a fleshly counterfeit:.
I served a thousand hospice patients who would beg to differ with you. And that’s only me.

There are as many OSAS members on CC who pity your state of existence because you’ve yet to experience the true essence of the Gospel.

He is solid ground not shifting sand.
Hey 11, you’re right on point with this. People who put their faith in Jesus are standing on solid ground, while people who put their faith in Jesus and themselves are most definitely improperly balancing on sand.

"Now we who have believed enter that rest" - Hebrews 4:3

But it is our responsibility to enter that rest:
Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly at heart. And you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Do you understand what this means? It is an invitation. There are no responsibilities when it comes to accepting someone’s invitation.

Jesus clearly states He will give us rest, but once again you take a free gift and place undue burdens upon those who accept Jesus’ free gift.

How is 'believing' an undue burden upon those who accept Jesus' free gift?

Maturity.
A mature 'knowing' relationship with Christ.

You think you are there because you know about and eagerly embrace osas doctrine.
But the Bible says you are there when you obey God's commands.

"3We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands." - 1 John 2:3

John 5.24 is arguably the most profound verse of all underrated verses in Scripture.
As profound and true as it is, it is still the baby milk message of the gospel.
Babies should now grow up into the meat of the word by obeying God in righteousness.

"13Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil." - Hebrews 5:13-14

1Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity "

Hebrews 5:13-14, 6:1

Osas keeps babies sucking on the baby milk of the gospel and doesn't do much toward getting believers to grow up into that which matters because they think their supreme, esoteric knowledge of osas is the meat and end-all of the gospel.

Osas'ers think they've arrived and look down on everyone else when in fact they are just starting out, and worst of all, don't move forward to maturity. Why would they? They think they are there already by believing osas doctrine. That's not even remotely true. Even if osas was true.

Ultimately, of course, but we're talking about the life of the saved person:

"The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." - Galatians 5:6

"17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God" - Romans 14:17-18

But osas would have you believe that what matters is that you know and accept the doctrine of osas. There's nothing evenly remotely true about that. You can take comfort all day long in what you know but if you don't have........well, we'll let Paul say it:

"2If I...can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing." - 1 Corinthians 13:2

But osas makes it's followers think that believing in the doctrine about osas is what it means to really know God and please Him. Not knowing that thinking actually takes away from what really matters in the life of the Christian. It provides a false sense of comfort and assurance by directing attention away from that which actually gives comfort and assurance--how you act--and to that which does not.

That's why we should continue to believe!

We know from the whole counsel of scripture that as long as the deceived believer responds to God's correction they will continue in the surety of Christ. Much depends on how deeply rooted the Word of God is in a believer.

The good and noble soil that allows the Word to be firmly and deeply rooted in it is the soil that perseveres in fruitfulness. While the believers with the shallow, rocky soil in which the Word can not be firmly and deeply rooted "believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away." (Luke 8:13).

That doesn't mean, categorically, that all 2nd type of soil believers fall away, or fall away and don't come back. It means that is the kind of soil for which that is likely to happen, i.e. the Galatians. No immature, 2nd type of soil believer has any claim to some kind of osas status. If anybody does it is the mature 4th kind of soil believer.

IF YOU ARE NOT BORN AGAIN, THAT MAY BE YOUR ONLY OPTION, AND THEN HOPE IT IS ENOUGH ? ? ?

HOWEVER, A TRULY BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN, HAS HIS HEART (HUMAN SPIRIT) ETERNALLY CHANGED TO WHERE HE CAN NEVER "NOT BELIEVE" EVER AGAIN. STRICTLY BECAUSE OF WHAT HE DID, AND THE CHANGE THE HOLY SPIRIT MADE IN YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT.

Your method puts that decision to Believe, on SELF Totally.

AND LOOK AT YOUR ODDS:

James 2:10 (GW)
10 If someone obeys all of God's laws except one, that person is guilty of breaking all of them.

HIS METHOD PUT THAT DECISION TO CHANGE YOUR HUMAN SPIRIT CHARACTERISTICS, ON JESUS CHRIST TOTALLY AND HIS FAITHFULNESS.

That is what OSAS, literally means about ETERNAL SALVATION.

Ecclesiastes 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it SHALL BE WELL WITH THEM THAT FEAR GOD,which fear before Him:

Psalms 19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, ensuring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

Psalms 115:11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield.

Proverbs 2:5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.

Proverbs 14:27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,to depart from the snares of death.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore,my beloved,as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presented only, but now much more in my abscence,WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING.

The true essence of the gospel is believing in osas?
That's a joke.

The true essence of the gospel is knowing Christ intimately.
You know you have that intimate relationship when you obey God's commands.
Don't get mad at me for bursting your bubble, that's what the Bible says.

True or not, osas doctrine is hardly the measure of a knowing, intimate relationship with Christ.
No doctrinal belief is the measure of a knowing, intimate relationship with Christ.
Obeying God's commands is.

Osas believers are especially deceived about this.
They need to grow up into that which matters.
Osas makes people think they have achieved some kind of great relationship with God.
No, the life of love for others shows you have achieved a mature, 'knowing' relationship with God.
Time for osas to get off of it's high horse and stop looking down on others.

I’m sorry John 5.24 bothers you.
John 5:24 doesn't bother me in the least.
It is Bible truth.
You just think there's only one way to understand the plain words of the passage--the osas way.
Not true at all.
Take your osas blinders off and you will see osas is not the only way to read John 5:24.

Eternally saved is the Gospel .... Jesus offers nothing less.

So have you trusted Him to impart what He offers?

Some believers works will be burned because they lived for self, yet they will be saved.
No, no.
Some believers work will be burned up because they failed in their labor to grow plantings in the field of God and place stones in the building of God that would survive the fires of the coming Judgment. Everybody you fail to bring through the fires of Judgment won't be on the other side for them to be your reward for your labor in the field and building of God.

Stop listening to pop theologians and their misguided, Spirit-less interpretations of scripture. Be a Berean. Read and understand the Bible for yourself through the anointing of the Spirit.

Who is saying that is not true?
Everyone who believes is living in and enjoying Christ's life that will never end.
Stop believing and you will no longer have the life He promised will never end.

John 5:24

Life and Judgment Are Through the Son
24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
Wow.

You have just said that the very words of Jesus is a baby milk gospel.

Those words are the gospel.

Salvation through faith in and on Jesus as a result of the forgiveness of sins.

Your hatred and determination to put down OSAS'ERS is truly bent and sickening.

Your last two paragraphs are a reflection of this.

You make false assumptions and accusations.

If one genuinely bleives in and on Jesus they will want to move on to maturity.

You are confusing what you call modern day OSAS you describe above accusing many on hear of believing in that.

Question those on here and accuse if you wish those who promote what your beef is.

Rather than generalise people on here ask them
