I don't know if I'm saved. I've been having a hard time understanding the gospel, if that's the right way to put it. While I've been kind of trying to keep going until I get saved (I might need to talk to a pastor or someone off the computer, I might have trouble with reading) I guess I've been trying to do my best. I might not be seeing my own behavior right. What is sin that we might do that we might notice in the moment but once it's passed we might forget about? Or sin that we might do but not even realize? I might have a memory issue. Also I guess I'm struggling with the age of accountability. I've done things that are wrong in the past, but I also used marijuana at a young age (and tried at least one other drug) and I don't know, maybe another issue could be at play, or issues? Some help with this might help me out.

I edited the original post unless I'm mistaken, so the original post might read differently than how I was writing it at a part or parts. (if that's the right way to put it)

I might have edited it more than once, but it might have only affected one part.

Do you believe in Jesus? Have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior? Do you believe that He died to save you from your sins?

If you can answer YES to all those questions, you are indeed saved. :)

God doesn't expect us to be perfect, that's impossible because we are mortal humans. He only expects us to do the best we can. :)

Most of us are conscous of sin, when we're doing it and even after it's done. All we need to do is apologize to God and ask His forgiveness.

I would say the age of accountability is when a person or child is old enough to know who God is, and to be able to tell the difference between right and wrong.

If you trust in Christ as your only grounds of acceptance with God you are saved. If you are trying to become acceptable with God you are moving away from salvation.

Ok, this might be annoying, but God is the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, right? (one God, but three Persons)

Would idolatry be loving anything more than God (the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit - all at once)? Someone might commit idolatry many times a day, right?

Yes, God, Jesus and the HS are all one and the same. :)

Idolatry is worshipping something or someone more than you worship God. For example, if you worship the pope and revere him more than you do God, that's idolatry..

People often quote John 3:16 KJB
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

And say that you are saved simply by believing on Jesus. This is false. If you continue on in John chapter 3 and come to verse 36 which says "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

Now if you do a word study on the true meanings of the words translated as "believeth" you'll find that the first "believeth" in verse 36 means to "believe, entrust".

Now if you look at the second "believeth" where it says "he that believeth not the Son shall not see life", that "believeth" has a different definition which means "to disobey".

We see then that we also must obey Jesus Christ and His teachings if we desire to be saved.

First: Yes

Second: No

Idolatry is loving someone/thing MORE than loving God. Putting someont/thing BEFORE God in our lives. Jesus taught us to LOVE others................your thoughts are childish at best................

Whoa whoa, no need to be rude. I don't think He is being childish at all. He is inquiring of the truth of God's word and of God. That is wonderfu! Be kind. Just because someone doesn't understand something doesn't mean they are being childish. Especially concerning such doctrines as this. You're post comes off as malicious. What is anyone to gain from your words "your thoughts are childish at best"? Those words are harsh and without reason. Please be kind.

To answer your questions @LeeLoving.

God exists in 3 persons as you said, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. They were not created. They have always been and always will be.

Idolatry connotes the worship of something or someone other than God as if it were God.

I think the definition can be extended to mean giving our time and affections that should be for God, to other things, making them an idol.

We are warned in 1 John 2:15-17 to love not the world or the things in the world.

That's why we have shows in these wicked end times such as "American Idol".
Satan has many evil agendas being pushed in these times
