I'm confused. What's the purpose of this thread? Your title asks a question, but your comment goes in a different direction.

God is love.
The world rejects God,
therefore rejects true love.

Love is when you empty your savings for the benefit of others you treat as your equal.

Complete Love has two parts to it's nature: The right feelings coupled with the right emotions. For example, John 3: 16. " For God so loved the world"... this part of the verse shows compassion, pity etc. towards mankind, the second part shows the ACTIONS of love, in that-"he gave his only begotten son". Emotions then show one the need, but actions complete it. One may love without the feelings, but do good by their actions. For example " Love your enemies" do good to those who use you despitefully use you,...Here, the good feelings may not be evident, but the DOING part of love completes it's nature. When the Bible says God IS love ,it refers to his divine nature that it is altogether righteous and perfect in both intent and doing. I remember a good example of emotional compassion, that showed a starving child and flies running over it's little body, and then a taped message at the bottom of the screen, "Tears, (emotions) are not enough". It implied that if one reached for their wallet, then, through the ACTION of giving, love could be completed.

See 1 Corinthians 13.
You need to do a word study on LOVE, for love is the doing of what is RIGHT to DO.. The Bible says God is love, meaning does always that which is right making his person of righteousness. Charity on the other hand are the virtues that produce the ACTIONS of love. 1Cor. 13 and verse 3 show love in action. Verses 4-8, show the VIRTUES within, that make the actions of love possible. Modern translations change wording so as to water down the word of God so making it less effective. Again, do a word study on the word love and how it is used, and you may understand it's true role and purposes. KJV, has a proven track record of great revivals from the past, stay with it.

love is when two men see each other, fall in love and move in together, and adopt a small child. Its when you see your neighbours wife and buy her flowers etc to woo her. Its when you partner gets tired of you not emptying the dishwasher so moves out and finds someone else. Its when you have no self love, so you look for someone else to validate you. Its when you buy expensive clothing, a new car, to impress others, so a aspirational woman will be attracted to you. Just make sure you don't lose those possessions though

I've already done a word study (a long time ago). Since you asked the question, you got your answer.

BTW you failed to note in your post #8 that in the KJV, the Greek word agape is translated as charity. This speaks of divine love in action as well as in attitude.

That is called SEXUAL PERVERSION, and puts the child in extreme spiritual danger.
I was being sarcastic, the bible states clearly what love is, there is no need to create a post and ask here. I was quoting mankind version of love btw

In my time here charity and love are interchangeable. Perhaps today they are thought of as separate but it has not always been so.

I was once asked by an atheist why Christians have so many rules when all
they need is just one: the so-called Golden Rule.

Well; for many of us who grew up in dysfunctional families, broken homes,
foster systems, gangs, and/or orphanages et al; the concept of love doesn't
resonate in our thinking; viz: it just bounces off us like a sonar ping because
we quite literally have no points of reference in our minds to aid
comprehending what is meant by love.

We know what Hollywood and contemporary music mean by love, but many
of us scarcely have a clue what Christianity means by it .

This is why the epistles are so valuable-- those writings not only show
Christ's followers how to recognize love when they encounter it; but also
how to exemplify it in their own lives so that those of us who were deprived
of love growing up are not left to figure it out on our own.

To begin there are two Greek words for love in the New Testament. One of
them expresses affection while the other merely extends civility. The second
love is the easiest to practice, anybody can do it; whereas the first is very
difficult for affection-challenged people.

Without complicating matters, all who speak English know there are degrees and Classifications
of love with the primary being the One Who is love, our Lord.

It would be a perfect world if all loved as does our Savior, Jesus, Yeshua, however it is not. This is to be strived for in grace. Always pressing forward to be eternally together with who truly love, that love that is God.

No we do not nor will we attain until He, on His Great and Glorious Day, completes that work He, and only He began in each of us. Until that instant we must do our best, strive to be as He.

Yuk! That’s vanity, NOT LOVE!

Perhaps we should ask WHO is Love, WHO is the source of Love and WHO loves us? WHO created me like Him that desires to love and be loved?

GOD is Love.
GOD is the source of Love.
GOD loves us.
GOD desires for us to know He loves us and desires to be loved by us.

He does NOT base His Love for us on our behavior......while we were sinners, He died for us to save us from eternal death and made a place for us to be with Him forever!

GOD just wants us to say, “Yes! I choose You, Jesus save me, I want to know Love...I want to love and be loved by GOD!!!”

Dear Heavenly Father,

I receive the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ that takes away my sin and reconciles me to the Father. Seal, baptize and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I want to know You and love You God in such a way that only Your Word and Spirit can show me.......show me.......engulf and show me the magnitude of Your Love for me........in the Name of Jesus, amen.(y)
