Eyes of Glory

I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed eyes can be read like a book. They tell a story. Whether it be pain, and sorrow, or joy and peace. In my eyes I have seen sadness, before. I’m tired of seeing sadness in my eyes. I consider the stories people tell of the eyes of Christ. Flames of fire. Perfect love. Peace and joy. I want my eyes to mirror Christ, in certain respects.

I need God to so fill me up that my eyes are filled with His love, His peace, and His joy. His passion. My eyes need to tell a story of His goodness. His presence. His revelation. If my eyes are sad, I am not walking in the fullness of God’s grace.

If the story you see in my eyes is not one that glorifies God, I need to receive of His providential goodness. Our eyes should testify of our God. If my eyes are no better than the worlds, what light do I have in me? What warmth do I bring to a cold and shivering world? My eyes must shine for the glory of God.

Our eyes don’t lie: they’re windows to the soul. They show the truth, no matter what face we put on, in any situation. The best way to get to know someone is to look them in the eyes and observe what they reveal about their emotional state so we should always seek for guidance, Love and peace from God for he satisfies the longing soul and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

Yes, I've noticed how eyes can speak. And not only can they say different things in the sense that they can describe what you're feeling inside or what "type" of person you are (which can change), but also in the sense that each one of the two can reveal a different message. For example, I've noticed from pictures how one of my eyes can strike me as saying "innocence" and the other "weary." That probably sounds silly, but it's true. It probably doesn't help that one of my eyes is ever so slightly angled asymmetrically.

Sadness in the eyes is sad to see, but emptiness in the eyes is something that troubles me. Like they've been sad for so long that they just stop being sad and become empty...they turn hard inside. Idk.

I was convicted a few months ago that I was carrying too gloomy of a countenance which also involved gloomy body language and verbal communication. Simply put, I needed to be more joyful in my heart! And for multiple reasons- to please the Lord with offerings of praise to Him, to show His glory to those who need hope, to not be a burden to those who care about me and might worry over said gloominess... I'm getting off topic, but I'm glad this subject reminded me of that conviction, because it's something I need to keep working at for sure!

In much the same way that our eyes can signal certain character traits, one's writing can signal certain character traits. Grace is good, but the things you are asking for come from spiritual growth.
