I think there is a healthy amount of pride one could profess when dealing with things that demonstrate excellence. To be proud of and take pride in differs. I may BE proud of the way my country opporates it’s education system. I can take pride in my child’s accomplishments if I assisted them to achieve them. There is a lot of propaganda that feeds one’s nationalistic pride that is just erroneous. Are you proud to be Canadian? What city do you live in?

Remember you’re a Christian first and foremost, this is not our home. I feel blessed I live in a country that has free speech and freedom of religion, at least for now.😉

We need to thank God and give him credit for anything good we might think originated elsewhere.
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1 (KJV 1900)

Not really? Isn't pride sin? (sin is doing something that's wrong, isn't it? something you shouldn't do?)

I think there is a bad pride and a good pride.

Bad: Proverbs 8:13 "The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate."

Good: 2 Corinthians 7:4 "I am acting with great boldness toward you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy."

And there is a lot more material to consider, but I guess you just need to sort out what kind of pride you have in your country and ask yourself a basic question: is it honoring Jesus or not?

Too many definitions for one word. Perhaps pride- feeling like you are better than someone else and they are beneath you, yes sinful. Pride- The satisfaction of a job well done, not sinful.

So...what city are you in. I looked at your “about page” to see what country you were in. I also live in Ontario.

I'm in London, unless I got that wrong somehow (my head might be a mess).
