Just because someone is quoting scripture, doesn't mean God is speaking. The Holy Spirit of God dwells within us and gives us discernment to know God's voice in our head speaking to us.

Even though Satan was quoting scripture to Jesus, Jesus would only obey His Father's Voice. The same is true for all believers, Jesus said those that follow Him know His voice and a stranger they will NOT follow (even if they are quoting scripture at us).

Can't put God's Voice in a "Scripture Box" - got to discern by the Holy Spirit who is talking.

Blaine's poems are straight from God's Heart to the hearts of those that Love God. The words of the poems give life to the hearers.

Dave-L, it's time to take your conversation to another thread.(y)
The Spirit bears witness with our spirit when God provides scripture. And faith swells in our hearts.

“What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me”— 29for Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many times it had seized him; he was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the wilds.)

“But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand and were choked in the sea.” Mark 5:6–13 (KJV 1900)

Scripture does everything the Charismatic Gifts did, but more, in a more reliable way. Scripture is a lamp to my feet. Spend more time in it and you will experience very solid footing in your decisions.

“This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.” 1 John 5:6 (KJV 1900)

Only by scripture can you tell. Because only God speaks through scripture and the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that what he says is the truth. Know your bible well and listen only to that.
Agreed. This is why I left charismaism, I learned to listen to the Bible through study. I have also left the heterodoxy of the revivalist church. They have made a sales pitch of the Gospel, strumming emotions to elicit a "decision" for Jesus. I prefer the teaching of the gospel as it is written

You did not answer my question which was:
What shall we do when not everything is in the Scriptures? You cant decipher what job to go for by reading the Bible, or who to marry, or where to live.

These are different for each person, we need the Holy Spirit.

I have spent considerable time in the Scriptures, and these Scriptures testify that the Holy Spirit leads us. The purpose of the Scriptures is:

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

The purpose of the Scriptures is also:

John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

It's there, you say it isn't because you can't understand it. And you'll never see it looking for it in your imagination or any other voice that pops into your head.

Acts 9:3–4 And as he [Saul/Paul] journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecuteth thou me?

Acts 18:9–10 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace: For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

Acts 10:13–15 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Paul was an apostle, a prophet. God spoke to these. Where do you think scripture came from?

Aaah. Think I get you now. But do you think The Lord speaks to people who are not prophets ie. in order to correct them etc.?

Only by his word. Voices in the head can be everything from your imagination to demons.
