How do you save something.

I have been a member here for a long time but I never learned how to save something here

like something someone said that I want to be able to go back and quickly find and paste It Into a post I may be

following.

Hopefully someone can show me with screenshots along with explaining It so I can quickly understand

It and put It Into practice.Thank You In Advance.🙂

One thing you can do is to "bookmark" a post by clicking on the symbol immediately to the left of the '#' that is part of the post number indicator in the upper-right corner of the post across from the date of the post.

How do I make a folder that I can go to and put the name of a thread and post # In that thread so this way I can have all the threads/post In one place?

Perhaps you should create a section in your browser bookmarks to store links to individual posts?

right now I use a tablet,I have an Apple And also and Android tablet,I Do also have an Apple phone also(xr)

To tell you the truth,If I knew how to that I'm sure It would probably be doable here as well,lol but I am not very good with the computer stuff.

Your browser should have a star or some icon on the upper right hand side, hover over each icon beside the url address and a little message should appear telling you the function of that particular icon. When I hover over the little star, the message says "Favorites." So clicking that will save the page you are on, which you can name whatever you choose, and access in future by clicking the three little dots on the far right, which presents a drop down with many options, one of which is "Favorites." Hopefully these three screenshots will help, though this is not the only way, and another way may be preferable (such as creating a folder in your documents on your computer where you save links to threads), but you may like this way better

this is what i think you are asking if you can do / how you can do:

make a list of posts ((not threads)) that you can later easily look through and quote from.

i do not think you can do this from the forum itself. you can bookmark threads, but not individual posts.

if you're using a laptop or desktop, i would suggest using something like 'microsoft onenote' or something, where you can type notes for yourself. when you see a post you want to hang onto, hit "reply" on that post -- it will put the post formatted with quote tags into the new reply box. copy all that, and paste it into your note-taking program.

then you'd have a list saved you can look at & copy-paste into the forum. it wouldn't be in the forum itself, tho.

this would be finicky to do on a phone -- not impossible or anything it's just kinda a pain to copy/paste text on a tiny screen using finger gestures instead of a mouse or touchpad.

sometimes i do things like say, "you can find that in this post" and copy the link by right-clicking on the post # and selecting 'copy link address..
then i go to where i wrote "this post" and highlight those two words, then click the 'link' icon. the words i have highlighted are automatically filled in as 'link text' and i paste the copied link address in the GUI.




i hadn't thought of that until i saw Gary suggest keeping a folder of bookmarked posts.
one thing about that tho is you won't know what the posts say until you open the bookmarks, unless you go through the trouble of naming them descriptively, right? which is a lot of work IMO if you're going to have a very big list of posts to save.

making a spreadsheet of them, you could scroll through and scan them to more easily find the one you want.

I really appreciate the tips given here.

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but this newer version of CC does allow you to bookmark individual posts. I'm sorry I can't give the wonderful pictorial directions that Magenta and posthuman are giving, but if you look at the right hand corner of the post, there is the post number and a small, "upside-down flag" right next to it.

If you click on that "flag", it will give you an option to bookmark the post and even make a note about it. I'm not sure what the "Sticky" function is (maybe it saves that post at the top of your bookmarks?) but the public function makes it either viewable to just you, or to anyone that is able to check your profile.

Then if you go to your profile, there should be a bookmark option among the list of all the other things in your profile such as "Media" and "About."

There should be a bookmark listing as well, which will then display your marked posts in pages.
