Tongue is prophecy . Happy?
Finally! Thank you.

Now other readers will know for certain that your understanding of tongues is not biblically sound, without having to wade through pages of bafflegab.

You are missing what is unknown to you: the truth about tongues (and about grammar). :)

The doctrine of being born again was not taught for over a thousand years because the Roman Catholic Church had obfuscated the scriptures with their own doctrines and told people what the bible meant rather than letting them read and study the scriptures for themselves. Along comes the protestant movement and REDISCOVERS scriptures about being saved by faith alone and other scriptures about salvation became popular in the 1400s that were not popular in the Roman Catholic Church before. Did that make them not true? Just because the visible church was not preaching these things that were in the scriptures for 1000 years did not mean that these truths were not scripture.
In the early 1900s the church began to REDISCOVER scriptures that had been thus far ignored by the protestant movement. Scriptures about gifts of the Holy Spirit being normative for the church. These believers began praying for and recieving the same experiences they read about in Acts. It is called the pentecostal movement and it went world wide. There are literally hundreds of millions of pentecostal believers today. The doctrine of pentecostals rediscovered in the 1900s is as authentic as the soteriology rediscovered by the protestants in the 1400s. We may expect a few other things to be rediscovered before it is all over. Things like the observance of the Lords Supper being not quite the way they did it in the early church might need Reformation.
I never understood how a Protestant (which started in the 1400s) could say pentecostalism isn't scriptural because it started in the 1900s. Both movements started with interpreting the word of God correctly which had not been being interpreted correctly by the Roman Catholic Church. However the Protestants and the reformists just stopped before they were finished reforming and getting back to the original doctrines of the church of Acts. So it was inevitable that sooner or latter those who were carefully studying scripture would notice that all of the scriptures relating to the pentecostal doctrines were needing to be believed and embraced also. And they did and so now we have this great movement that is now the Largest Missionary movement in the world planting more churches and seeing more people saved each year than any other protestant evangelical group by far.
Well, if it would be taught, as it was taught in the bible that speaking in tongues is one gift like all the others, I would agree with you.
But since 1900 it is taught that speaking in tongues is the evidence for to be baptised with the Holy Spirit. According what pentecotals/charismatics teach about speaking in tongues it means that not all Christians can be baptised with the Holy Spirit, because Paul taught that not all getting the gift of speaking in tongues.
The doctrine we found since 1900 we find not taught in the bible. You can claime that acts 2,8, 10 and 19 is a evidence that it was taught, but this events nowhere are quotet in the letters to the New churches as an example for an baptism with the Holy Spirit f.e. as for empowerment. So someone also can claim that acts 2,8, 10 and 19 are written down for to show the jews that the Gospel is for all mankind equal and not for them alone.

Not the Theology behind is the reason, that people turn to Christ. It is the word of God and God himself who addes the people into the Body of Christ.
And Yes, pentecostals and charismatics spread the word of God, but this is no guarantee for to be right in all teachings.
And the other thing is, that we dont know the hearts of people, but God does. And God is not seeing our theology, but our hearts.

I would agree if I had a fifth grade teacher like yourself. Then I would be full.

What truth? The language like below that makes those fall backward slain in the spirit? The wonderful, wonderment fill ups? Or where fill-ups till the pandemic.

How are they being filled today?

“Saw lasaw saw lasaw.
Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.
Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

Nothing proves nothing. It is simply a oral tradition of men coming from their own imagination, the seat of lying wonders.

The same kind Peter performed in John 21 when he went to town with a lying wonder .(John has eternal flesh and blood ) Jesus rebuked him and said if every time he had to dismiss a lying wonder that the whole world could not hold the book that could be written .

We would call that book “Saw lasaw saw lasaw.Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw. Ze’er sham ze’er sham.” Do you get the meaning? or still wondering? What the ????? is nothing ?

one problem you have, is not differentiating the gift of tongues, from the language of our Spirit.

The other? Obstinence? Why do you resist?

Hi Stones, I never heared the language of the Holy Spirit and I doubt that anybody does. If I read the scripture ore got an answer to my prayer it is in my own language, so I could understand.
If course you can call me obstinent. But I cant call something right what is not.

Many people tend today to set their expierience on top, even if they are against the word. Their is a word for: expierience theology.
If somebody teils me that every believer can get the gift of speaking in tongues, then this is against the truth.

Jesus gives us words to pray .Like David. The lord is my Sheppard I shall not want.

Not wonderfully “Saw lasaw saw lasaw Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

Some see no problem that nothing is evidence of nothing? I think being happy would include more than wondering amusing . Its ok for a little day dream. But a person could fall asleep wondering

Tongues is prophecy the gospel. the kind that drives out demons (prayer with words and fasting.

Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Can't cast out demons with “Saw lasaw saw lasaw Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.Ze’er sham ze’er sham.” and then fall backward as a sign a person is under the judgement of God "slain in the spirit".

Different than filled with the spirit. A one time event at our new birth .It does not need refiling over and over with “Saw lasaw saw lasaw Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

The other differentiating no evidence?

In the beginning... Bang ?

or in the beginning was the Living Word. let is be and the evidence was there ? Word or noises without meaning? “Saw lasaw saw lasaw Qaw laqaw qaw laqaw.Ze’er sham ze’er sham.”

Not all have the gift of giving a word to a fellowship in tongues, which then is interpreted. But, all who are born of the Spirit, baptized in Holy Spirit, should be free in praying in tongues.

There is a difference. With the gift, the anointing is there. You know that you are to speak. But, praying in the Spirit is at will.

Paul is not making a difference about speaking in tongues. And he clear says that not all receiving this gift in 1. Cor.12
Otherwise you will say that someone who is baptised with the Holy Spirit is getting the gift of speaking in tongues double. The First time when he is baptised with the Holy Spirit and the second time as a an normal gift. As it is mentioned in 1.Cor.12

Which scripture is saying that all who a baptised with the Holy Spirit speaking in tongues?

BTW, the events in acts 2, 10 and 19 speaking from speaking in tongues as a gift which was understandable for the receiver and the people around. Otherwise they could not know that they praise God.

You talking from a speaking in tongues which nobody can understand, even the prayer dont know what HE is praying.

So if you claim that acts 2, 10 and 19 is the example for praying in tongues by receiving the Holy Spirit, then the people around you has to understand what you pray.

Also is to Note that in acts 10, Cornelius and his house received the Holy Spirit, by hearing the Gospel and not in an extra expierience.
If this would be the norm for all, then all who hearing the Gospel would get the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues, without asking for.
But this is not the reality.

The intersession by the Holy Spirit on our behalf is one benefit.

1 Cor 14:14 - For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays..
Ro 8:26 -
And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

The reality is that there are over 279 million pentecostals world wide who asked for the gift and received it. So there is that. You think they are all deluded, their lives are generally far more christlike and devoted than non pentecostals which means their lives bear the fruit of being empowered by the Spirit. Yes, I said that on the whole, (there are always exceptions) pentecostals live holier lives, and are more devoted to the great commission and complete surrender to Christ in areas of sanctification and holiness, and more committed to missions and full time ministry life style than any other evangelical group. So not only do their blameless lives give evidence of the experience that they claim but their hermeneutics in Lucan Pneumentology is turning the theological world on it's head and many non pentecostal theologians are changing their views and becoming pentecostals after praying for and receiving the experience that they call the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. And this great move of God is not slowing down but fulfilling the prophesy of Joel, that in the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and YOUR DAUGHTERS will prophesy and there is nothing anyone can do to stop it. Lest they be found to attempt to fight against God Himself.

Scribe, then you should read Joel for whom this is written and in which situation Israel then will be.
Nor are you belong to the folk of Israel, nor Israel is living in the condition Joel describes in the Context.
And if you study the bible you will find out that nowhere the mass was an indicator for to be right. Together with the charismatic movements more then 600 000 000 believe your doctrine which began in 1900.
No I dont cant stop that, but I dont must follow something what I cant identify as right.
Its finaly our father in heaven who determines what is right and wrong and we have to come before his chair for what we did and not did.

And to put it simply, thank God that he's the only one who can give speaking in tongues to anyone, and that he does...often when the person isn't even expecting it and even when it hasn't been taught...just when they are seeking God. That's one flaw in your thinking that this all came out of the Azusa Street revival.

I hadn't even heard of the Azusa Street revival. They just showed me what speaking in tongues was for (in 1 Corinthians 14, Romans 8, Acts 2) and God let me know it was truth.

About 2 weeks later I got baptized (in Jesus name for remission of sins) and they told me to pray for the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues. And I did. And God gave it to me.

And it does exactly what the Bible says it does. It edifies the person who prays in tongues. It is not understood by the person praying/speaking in tongues or by others (without God providing the interpretation). It helps our infirmities (which people would find out if they prayed much at all in tongues.

It's awesome and I thank God for it.

I don't have to convince every person that it's real, that it's for them, or that they should have it. I realize that everyone has choice.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby
