I've posted about this many times. I was diagnosed with ocd last year and have been dealing with sickening and violent thoughts ever since. I don't understand why I had to go through this. Could you all pray for me that I get delivered from these bad thoughts.

Hello @Gemmy, I know how horrible and painful such thoughts can be, and the fact that they just won’t stop :(

Praying for you sister!

p.s. - I suffer with these kind of thoughts no longer. My answer was found in memorizing verses and passages of Scripture (and thereby emptying my mind of all of the garbage that was stuck up there, and filling it with something FAR better). PM me if you’d like to try Scripture memorization as I’d be happy to help you get started if you’d like me to :)

Gemmy, you say that you have been struggling with such thoughts ever since you were diagnosed. I don't know if you were given medication from that time, too, but if so, you might see if a different medication could be prescribed. Medicines for OCD can cause violent thoughts, but a different medicine may be better tolerated.

In addition the encouragement to read and think about two or three scriptures that speak to you about this matter, and doing this even multiple times a day to get them really into your spirit, fight back spiritually, Don't be passive or give up hope about being free from them. Those thoughts aren't your thoughts; they are temptations. Resist them and replace them with the truth (Scriptures that say differently, I am a new creature in Christ, the blood of Jesus protects me now, and such). Also, cry out to Jesus in the middle of being bombarded with the thoughts.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control. But thanks be to God which always causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus. We have the mind of Christ!

I join with you in prayer for deliverance! (heart)!

Thank you for your insight. I just started meds going on two weeks ago. Prior to that, I was having these thoughts. I've read it takes a few weeks before you see a difference. I'm just going to keep praying until I see a difference or until I feel God wants me to try a new medicine. Thank you for your words of encouragement as well. I really appreciate you all for praying

Father God I thank you for the faith that Gemma has in you, I bind those evil thoughts that keep coming to her, I rebuke them, and plead the blood of Jesus over her mind, I command them to cease and desist, to leave her and not come back, in Jesus name. amen.

Gemma I went thru a time of this too, and the way I dealt with it was to rebuke the thoughts every time one would interject itself into my mind, it did not take long until they stopped not to come back, but I have never had to deal with Ocd. God bless and keep you.

Hey everyone, just an update on me. I'm still dealing with these thoughts sadly. Some days, it gets very emotionally draining. I'm still praying and I know the meds take awhile to help. Could you guys keep praying for me, I really appreciate it.

Hi Gemmy,

I too have struggled with such thoughts. More so than you could imagine. I know what you are enduring. I have found that indulging and burying myself in God's word helps distract and discourage me from such thoughts. I do not own a cell phone and I have no social media. Understand that outside influences can have such effects on the psyche. I dedicate my time to prayer and God's word. This has cured my inner demons. I fight my temptations with prayer. I also fast every now and then. I just concluded a five day fast earlier this week.

[16] Rejoice always; [17] pray without ceasing; (I Thessalonians 5:16-17 [NASB])

Prayed that the Lord's hand would overshadow you and the Lord would bring you peace of mind.

Birds will always fly over your head but you have power to not let them stay there on your head and lay eggs. Good luck, i am praying for you.
