1 John 3:15 is not saying "love others as we are loved".

15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

It is quite clear what John is saying there correct?

This is not about losing salvation.
John wants them to know what love looks like and what it does not look like.

Amen to that one.....they cannot grasp God loving us in spite of ourselves.

I respected honesty in VCO when he acknowledged that aspect of 1 John 3:15, without criticizing his understanding. If I indeed had that mocking tone as you claimed, I would not have done that.

I don't believe we need to endure to the end, because like you, I believe our salvation doctrine is from Paul's letters, Romans to Philemon.

But the difference between us, is that I am able to understand what John was saying in 1 John, without reading Paul into what he was saying.

There is no BIG SIN compared to a LITTLE SIN, is GOD's EYES. HE considers HATING to be EQUAL TO MURDER. Only mankind thinks of HIS SIN as less than someone else's SIN, NOT GOD! I was a Volunteer Protestant Prison Chaplain for 15 years of my life, in two different Supermax Prisons. I used to tell the inmates, "There is no Big Sin, Little SIN in the site of GOD.
