"until the day of redemption" - Paul's words (via English translation :))
"ie - that seal can't be broken until then" = your words
They mean the same thing

Until - up until the time if. The length the seal will be active. And when it will be broke

I wonder if it means pick up our criss and follow him to his cross where we are united with him in salvation by faith. And then given the rest he promised
I think Jesus is literally saying hey you want to follow me , do you seriously want to ? I'm going to die on a cross , come follow me . When people use this verse and say we can't be a disciple unless we pick up our cross . No one who heard this picked up their cross , they all fled and walked away . This is not a requirement for today.

Where in 1 cor 2.14 does it say a person cannot believe the Gosepl ? it makes the contrast between mature believers and those that are unable to recieve the things of God because they are behaving carnally . Babes in Christ .
Depending on your bible version . The ' spiritual 'is not a person that has the Holy Spirit ,but its a mature believer who understands the things of the spirit ( the wisdom spoken among the mature 1 cor 2.6 )
Part of the process of being quickened to a spiritual life, is the fact that at the new birth, God puts the Holy Spirit within the new born babe in Christ, therefore giving him a spiritual faith, that is a fruit of the Holy Spirit Gal 5:22. When we are newly born, we are babes in Christ.

As we are weaned from the milk of the word, we become "mature" believers that can digest the doctrine of Christ.

Isaiah 28:9-10; Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, and there a little.

The natural man in 1 Cor 2:14, cannot discern the things of the Spirit, and thinks them to be foolishness. There is no way that the natural man can be described as "a mature believer, that understands the things of the Spirit"

No I said the mature / perfect / spiritual ( Galations 6 1¶Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are ( SPIRITUAL ) restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.)
Understands the things ( wisdom.) Paul speaks of amoung the mature . Do you thing the carnal Corinthian believers , the babes are understanding at that time ? Also if your not sure of where I'm coming from , could you explain verse 1 cor 2.15 ?

is there a verse after Jesus goes to the cross where believers are told to pick up their cross ? I think people picking up crosses is not needed after the atonement . Jesus was physically going to the cross .
what part do we have to play . please could you list all the things we need to do ?
well if Jesus was physically going on the cross makes those word mean nothing why would he say them and and make it a requirement?
What other things that Jesus said can you fit into that loophole?

What Calvinism teaches is this . " The reprobate cannot believe the Gospel because God hasn't chosen him to be saved and gifted him with repentance and Faith " Then it goes looking for proof texts in support of the paradigm

No one followed him . No one picked up their cross . Not even Peter . How can this be a requirement for today ?

Wasn't Peter crucified on a cross? Weren't all the apostles but John martyred for their faith. That is what take up your cross and follow me means. What did you think it meant? It means be willing to be executed for your testimony of Jesus Christ. Those are the ones that will be saved. If you denied Christ when tested by the Romans, you were not considered saved by the early church.

Well the early Church also taught infant baptism, transubstantiation and a few other questionable things . We need to search the scriptures. Everyone fled when Jesus said take up your cross and follow me . So we are only saved by being willing to be killed for our faith? Wheres that ? is that saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves ?

I bet if you could ask those who were killed for their faith that they knew where they were going .

So if I am not willing to be executed I am not saved?

You can read that into it if you like. But that is not what the words say.
So is the Rich man story in the same boat, throw it out after the cross?
Jesus gave it all so you don't have to, it that the teaching?

In truth which of the Apostle did not do just that, suffer and die for the same work of the cross?
They took up suffering and laid down their lives for the sake of the gospel?
It is hard to read Peter and not see you are to have the same mind as Christ Jesus to be ready to suffer.
Suffer in denying sin and ceasing from it so you can begin to live the rest of your life for the Glory of God.
He goes as far as to say this the very purpose of the Gospel.
It this not taking up your cross and following?

The mighty mustard seed!
The smallest of seed, grows into the biggest of plants in the garden.

If you deny me before men I will deny you before my father in heaven.

Of course not of ourselves.
How else do you stand in the face of the death of a cross?
In your own strength, I don't think so.
How else do you believe God for an end of sin in you life?
Based on your own abilities, I don't think so.

No it is the multiplied grace and peace of God, the gift of knowing God. - Loving me some 2 Peter 1
It just comes with the package

Come out preaching with me. I risk my life every time I'm on the streets . They did what they did because they had the joy of what was to come after death. They didn't do it to secure salvation . Jesus died for us so that we don't have to ' die ' .

If you don't go out in that joy, risk it all (whatever it may be) and follow because of why he has done, are you walking after Jesus like a disciple?
To be someones disciple you need to follow them in their example and teachings.
The bible says to count the cost if you are going to be a believer.

Just because some people wanted more butts in seats and decided to build a bigger comfier boat then the one Jesus provided does not mean we get sit in a comfy seat and still be His.
This other Gospel where you don't need to count any cost or pay any price of take up any cross or actually become righteous using what Christ has provided to you for that purpose IMO is the source of the many who will fall away from the faith in the last days.

Make your calling and election sure. - 2 Peter 1
Its your fault if you don't.
Because He gave you everything you need. - 2 Peter 1
