Fishing vacation went well. A real joy! First day I caught 14, second day....17, third day....19, and the last evening, 21. All were a mix of Bream, Shell Cracker and Perch...........mostly small, but several bigger ones mixed in. My Bro in Law did well also. He caught 6 catfish, all in the 2 to 4 pound range as well as a couple of Large Mouth Bass and several Bream and Shell Cracker.

I do not hunt. I don't mind that there are those who are as avid about hunting as I am about fishing, as long as they are hunting to feed themselves/family/other people. Sport Hunting, or Trophy Hunting I am not in favor of...........but that may just be me, so.....

Problem with hunting is you can not "shoot and release." When we fish, we practice "catch and release." The ONLY time we keep what we catch is when there is someone fishing near us who is fishing to feed themselves/family. In that instance, I am pleased to give them our catch. I don't want to see anyone go hungry. We do not Trophy Fish! Fishing to see if we can catch something worth preserving and hanging on a wall.................IMO only I suppose, that's really arrogant.

Anyway..........it was a really good vacation, and we had wonderful fellowship as well.
Sounds like you had a fun relaxing time. It is fun to catch a fish and I would have eaten the bass...yummy eatin.
Glad you had a nice vacation.

It all started with me wanting to move to Tennessee and I thought no problem we will put the house up for sale (a condo part of a homeowner association)... So got the real estate lady involved and signed papers. She said to pack so I started and we have boxes in closets filled, boxes in out sunroom/porch.

So then there was the crack in the stucco above our entry to the front door and ended up now owing money for that repair... So next had some plumbing work done to fix a few things which included a slow draining bath tub and ended up with a leak coming down through the light in the kitchen ceiling. Remember I said that I wanted and did list the house in May.... as a pandemic is raging.... So had to call the house insurance people and get them involved.

So an adjuster comes out and looks at the problems and it has been determined that it is a failed shower pan and we get a check last Friday which I found out later is $3,000.00 short of the actual repair that needs to be done... So I call the repair people and tell them that there is no $3,000.00 extra to pay them and they send out one of their people and we chat for a while and get the difference down to between $179.00 to a little over $200.00 difference which is easier to swallow...

Then they say give a check for pretty much what the insurance company sent us and then we will be out between 6-8 weeks to get the repair done... (My mind says....Say What?)

I was so hoping that we could put home up for sale in May and sell it in the summer and be in Tennessee by the fall of 2020... But nothing else has been normal for 2020 so why would I even think that selling our home would be any different than the way this year has gone so far.

I mean we start with a pandemic, get put on lockdown, have masks shoved onto our faces so we all look like a bunch of medical personnel or bank robbers depending on your personal style/choice of mask, then living in Florida we are in the heart of hurricane season, I just heard on the news something about UFO sightings.... come on What's next and the death toll of the pandemic is racing toward 200,000.... does it get any crazier than this? You can't make this stuff up...

So I now wait on being assigned a project manager for the leak repair oh and I forgot to mention that I had a recent root canal done and going this week for the beginning of the replacement for the crown on that same tooth.....

I am just happy to report that in spite of all that is going on that I know God is in control and I can't wait to see what is next. By the way did I say this all started with wanting to move to Tennessee and living in the mountains wanting to be more out in the country and growing a garden..... Well maybe next year....

You both are always in my prayers dear Sister..............God's way is not always our way, nor is His time always our time. BUT His way and time are the best way and time............

Hold fast to your faith!

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”

Isaiah 55:6 (KJV)

Deuteronomy 4:29 - But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find [him], if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Psalms 9:10 - And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Mailman Dan

I was thinking about you today after seeing the recent news about postal overtime being cut out and sorting machines being removed and that mail is piling up at the sorting areas. Wondering how you are doing? With all that is going on. Has the job become much harder and are you still able to get your mail out to all your homes? Thinking about the postal workers.

I know at my home that there have been days we don't get mail and a bill was late coming to us. So like I said I was wondering how you were doing and if this is affecting you?

I think it's the best thread in the Bible Discussion Forum as there is far less debating going on here and we usually chat with each other like friends do.

My car insurance bill did not arrive in the mail. Thank God the Lord said to me "its August. Check your car insurance"
I did and they said it was due three days ago but we have grace of two weeks to pay it.
Thank God he reminded me otherwise I would be totally unaware.

I made a phone payment on the bill and it wasn't due yet just later than it normally comes in the mail and we did get it this week but I am worried that if mail really slows down that something might not come or get paid on time. But since Dan works as a mailman I was wondering how he is doing with all this.

okay, so what is up with the mail thing?
I was going to tag @mailmandan to ask for a little insight here.

I was shipping a package the other day and the man at the window informed me that even though it was going just down the road (about 2-3 towns over) if I send it "media mail" (because it was) that it would sit on a shelf at least a week before moving.........

We have stuff we ordered online a week ago and the tracking shows it was received at the post office and hasn't moved yet.
I even have something I ordered that has tracking but wont even show me any info, just the date it was received and the estimated delivery date (which is tomorrow)

One thing hubs sold on ebay was going to another part of our state.......
tracking shows 2 days after I dropped it at the post office that it went to FLORIDA (no where near us)
THEN the next day shows it was in our state......... then it shows it delivered 5 days after that.

oh, and our mortgage bill FINALLY showed up 3 days AFTER the due date.
It was stamped "return to sender" "Undeliverable as addressed"
SAY WHAT  ? (AND the info was correct, so how'd that one happen?" )

Hi JL, glad to see you are still around :) also glad that you and Tourist are keeping healthy and safe!

Interesting times we are living in.

In South Africa we have 570,000 people that they know of that contracted the Covid virus. Of the 570,000 12,000 died and our recovery rate is at 57%. Now either I am really bad with mathematics or 1 plus 1 is not adding up too two .

If I were you I would take some oil, bless my house and take a shofar and call God into battle. I hope and pray hat God will take control of the situation and change project manager's heart :giggle:.

God bless you my friend and have an awesome week :)
