Essentially, he is telling these militant democrats that their actions will not be condemned by the law, and they are free to destroy and attack without consequence.
No surprises there. What is surprising though is that the federal government has failed to arrest and prosecute (a) the governor of Oregon, (b) the mayor of Portland, (c) the DA of Portland, (d) every official who has failed to protect Portland from anarchists over the past four years, and (e) every Antifa and BLM thug that entered Portland to wreak murder and mayhem.

'Ain’t trying to hurt no one': Mob recorded knocking man unconscious in Portland
by Emma Colton, Social Media Manager
August 17, 2020 01:31 PM

Videos posted to social media show a mob in Portland beating a man until he was unconscious, the New York Post reported.

An unidentified man was filmed standing outside his truck with his wife in Portland Sunday night as a mob approached and attacked them.

“He didn’t do nothing!” someone is heard saying during the video as the man was kicked and punched.

The man was able to get in his car and speed off before hitting a light pole. He was then dragged from his truck, according to the New York Post, as he pleaded for the violence to end and called out to his wife. The mob comprised Black Lives Matter and antifa activists, the outlet reported.

“I ain’t trying to hurt no one,” he’s heard saying. It is unclear what prompted the altercation, but someone is heard saying, “COVID is real.”

“I was trying to get out the way,” he said after the crash.

The crowd then began leaving the scene, but one attacker returned, kicking the man in the head and causing him to lose consciousness, according to the New York Post.

Police are currently investigating the incident and said they encountered a “hostile crowd” when responding to a call that “protesters were chasing the truck before it crashed, and they assaulted the driver after the crash.”

“Officers encounters a hostile crowd and a squad from the Rapid Response Team (RRT) responded to help secure the scene while the investigation was underway. The driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The incident is under investigation and no arrests have been made,” the Portland Police Bureau said of the incident.

Violence and protests in Portland have persisted since the death of George Floyd in May, with many nights of riots targeting government buildings.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler has condemned the violence in the city after initially showing support for what he said were largely peaceful demonstrations.

"We anticipate additional planned attacks on occupied public buildings over the next few days," Wheeler said last week. "I want to put a message out to the people of this city. If you are a nonviolent demonstrator and you don't want to be a part of intentional violence, please stay away from these areas. Our community must say that this violence is not Portland, that these actions do not represent our values, and these crimes are distracting from reform, not advancing it."

Turns out the guy who was beaten had tried to help another person who was robbed by the antifa blm thugs.

If you can stand to watch the horrible violence, Andy Ngô has a full report on twitter.

wonder why Portland is especially violent.

The george floyd murder happened in minneapolis and the police officer has been arrested and charged. I dont know if hes in jail. But not sure exactly how this is connected.

assualts happen all the time one on one rather than with mobs but they dont always get reported. Most assaults actually happen in domestic situations...and people get away with them, mainly because Police dont really want to deal with domestic violence.

I think just because one is part of a mob or group/gang whether its anitfa, blm, ku klux klan, or even the police itself doesnt mean you are going to get away with violence. People seem to think just because of numbers and being part of a gang its ok to be violent and hurt people.

as Christians we can appeal to our Lord. You know God has said venegeance is mine, I will repay. so there is no need to take out our anger on anyone using violence. its surely a waste of time.

Ticks me off something fierce quite frankly. What those elected government Democratic officials have done is called an act of Treason!
Trump sent in Federal troops to secure Federal properties in Portland, he can send in Federal Marshals to arrest the governor.
Then on to Seattle!
And bring buses to arrest everyone of the BLM, ANTIFA domestic terrorists still on scene in both cities. Domestic Terrorism under the U.S Patriot Act is a whole different kettle of fish.

Then? Ideally? Follow the money that paid those thugs to do what they've done and go after them next. How tickled I'd be to see George Soros make the walk of shame in handcuffs! Hallelujah! HALLELUJAH LORD! Justice has come to town. ~does a little dance~
I'm the optimistic sort. ;)

Portland Oregon has been strongly Liberal since the early 50's.

Yet the Portland DA has no problem charging Joey Gibson because he got into a fight during a protest. Gibson simply happened to be conservative.

Portland has always been a hotbed for these kinds of protests. Even years ago, they've had people on the streets which often got violent. That city (and Eugene) attract a lot of anti-government anarchists, and people are always looking for trouble.

I remember the time a bakery got in trouble. They were closing for the night, and decided that two white girls would be the last to be served for the night. They turned off the open sign. Then, a black woman came in. The staff told her they were closed. She interpreted it as discrimination, and fired up social media. The owner threw his two workers under the bus and fired them, and bent over backwards. All for simply closing on time.

He may not be persecuting evil people, but he sure will be persecuted for his criminal negligence of his duties to the people of Portland. God is just. God won't leave anyone who is wronged uncompensated. Godspeed.

Obviously the politics of the city...has come to this. Why would any thinking American want to move to this city? Why would any thinking American want to stay there? Clearly..they have ruined that city.

Nolte: Democrat-run Portland Collapses to Bottom of Desirable Cities
Thanks to unbridled leftism, the city of Portland has gone from being one of the most desirable cities to one of the least.

The beauty of leftism is that, in practice, it always fails. High taxes, green regulations, public unions, coddling criminals, appeasing domestic terrorists, powerful teachers unions… From Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union to California to New York and now to Portland, socialism/leftism, whatever you want to call it, always fails.
