Sorry for the click bait title but I was inspired by a new member here by the user name poet of ephraim the poetry of God's word was amazing and spoke to me so I wanted to make a thread involving god's word but one for everyone.
I made a thread like this once in the misc. section but only because the poetry section doesn't get much traffic compared to other sections but here is how it works I or someone else can post a random verse of scripture and everyone tries to make a poem based on the verse.

It can be long or short or in any style you like and it really sharpens your poetry skills while God's word can do what it does best and speak to people hearts, Any good poet knows the power words can have.

Here is the verse I am using and writing off of
Matthew 5:14-16
  1. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
  2. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
  3. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

A wonder in the midst of wandering look to the light and turn away not for the blinding of it heals and comforts, see and soak in the brilliance that is my God but look not for a man nor seek the brilliance of the angels for the shining that embraces is within but a child.
For by the Lords joy has this child of the king been chosen and in his glory has he set this little one upon the mountain. In his wisdom has he chosen the small and meek and in his power will he raise them to illuminate a darkened heart. be not afraid my dear one for the sun bows before the king and dares not compare
For the wrold has never seen the nor has it embraced but in the kings pride is this little ones place, no shadow can shelter the wicked and no mountain will fall to cover them for the glory of the Lord will be made known. As a lantern in the night will the lost and worn be found, in the warmth of the brilliance shall the cold and distraught find comfort and it shall be by the kings name that he will cover them in his wings.

You oh children of the king know this light and it's embrace but the serpent shall attempt to dimmer it for he cannot stand the light and loves the shadows and holds the lost captive tightly in his grip as he slithers into the safety of the dark.
Therefore do not falter and charge ahead as the might ones you were called as before time began, let the kings light blind the serpernt and bewilder the wicked let the fires of the glory be your spirit relentless and without hestiation let the flame consume destorying the wicked and giving life to the lost let the burns of the enemy cause them to lick their wounds and let his light shower as rain upon the land.

Little ones of the king, strong ones of the Lord know that you are this light for he that abides in you will be your charge, fear not and walk no more run and charge shine and blast the wolrd for time is short and many are trapped in the serpents coils they are content in his entrapment for they have not seen or known the Lords warmth listen not to the enemies lies for he will speak to your inner most wounds to stumble you for he relishes his bounty.

Take heart and fan the flame within you for in doing this as moses before you The Lord of Lords will show his wonders.
