Thanks again for these thoughts. Even as bad as things are, we can rejoice in the fact that God is in control and all things will take place as He has revealed them.
We're here for the ride. The illusion is that we're in total control.
Maybe that's another reason people reject the Gospel truth. It puts into perspective what we had previously thought pertained to us and having control over every aspect of our living.

what about our own actions ? Do we have control over those ? Not total control of our lives and everything but just our part ?

Does it scare you to propose to them when does a human egg become a baby?
Maybe it's just me. :unsure::LOL:
From the start the seed in it has a life of its own.
From the start in potential.

I like the biblical story about the two men fighting and the accidentally bump into a pregnant woman and she looses her child.
Both men are put to death for their carelessness.

How does God view the value of the unborn life, greater then yours and mine put together.

Let them stick that in their pipe and smoke it.

I've read many of their remarks in just this thread. Perhaps it isn't stupidity. Perhaps, think of their identity in their name, they've just been following the wrong teaching for such a long time that when the truth of God in the Gospel is outlined properly, they cannot comprehend it. Because for so long they've been led to believe the wrong thing.

How many Calvinist members were brought into the church as children, grew old and died ever being a Calvinist? Think about that one.
:( Very sad indeed.

Maybe that's the case. It isn't stupidity. It's obstinate rejection of right teaching due to prolonged submersion into the wrong one.
I always say, as long as a person has breath they are able to change their mind. Pray that Christ removes the blocks man has put on people who follow false teachings. As long as they have breath... :D
Jesus once said to those who did not believe him, was because his words have no place in them.

That is the deciding factor.

The thing about discussion sites is everyone defends their belief as if their soul depends on it. It's just the way of traditions that offer salvation through belief in what is taught.
I'll leave you to your denominational construct and wish you the best as you work to stay saved. No snark intended.
Lawlessness is about doing it your way, because you still belong to yourself (left error)
Lordship is about doing what you are told to do, because of who you belong to. (narrow path)
Under Law is about doing it good enough because you still belong to yourself. (right error)

You were given a post that showed the seed is dead until it is planted

Your argument is with the word not me
Play that card often?

Perhaps you do not understand the word and use it wrongly because you do not understand the nature of seeds properly?

Are we playing word games again?

The three verses ForestGreenCook gave you are very good verses on the subject. Many things are learned in Scripture by implication. You cannot deny that. So why now play word games? It is obvious, you don't like the implication.

What's wrong with those three verses? If they do not teach what he thinks they teach, then give him a helping hand.

While your at it, here are few more:

Mat 13:14 And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:

John 5:39-40 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me; and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

And a verse we should ask ourselves, if we are trying to lay a trap for the ones we disagree with while forsaking the clear teaching of Scripture.

John 5:44 How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that is coming from the only God, ye seek not?
and ye will not come to me .
Notice they will.....not come . John 5.39

How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that is coming from the only God, ye seek not?
Again their 'recieving glory from one of another... was the issue and they are not seeking God . John 5.44

mat 13 . Read the accounts of why the temporary blindness is upon ISRAEL they were disobedient first. Then God judges after . This is not a gnostic idea about some election where some special chosen ones would be selected in eterninty past and others would be born without hindu enabelment not able to be awakened at the appropriate time . Doomed from the womb ,banished at birth as Calvin put it .

  • not 'a story' -- a law
  • not 'valued greater' -- explicitly valued equally
  • not 'both' -- the word men is plural regarding the fight, but in the judgement the words him & he are singular. the text appears to hold only the one who caused the harm guilty, not all who were involved in the fight.

If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
    (Exodus 21:22-25)
i think it's interesting that if an altercation causes premature birth without any harm, the punishment ((or forgiveness)) of the one who caused the child to be born out of season is entirely left up to the woman's husband.

v. 46 -- if you believed Moses, you would believe Christ.
v. 47 -- if you do not believe Moses, you will not believe Christ.

it's not good to dismiss the OT.

they did not believe what they had already been given, and Jesus cites this as evidence they clearly would not believe Him either.
lack of belief begets more lack of belief; belief begets belief.

Then we have Gods way,

the law of love

we do things because we trust god and because of the eternal love he has given us he has enabled us to love others, hence we do not have to take care of our needs because we trust god has taken care of them for us.
lordship salvation is just another form of law

Yet you stil totally ignored the scripture that says otherwise to insert your opinion into the word

i can see why people have you on ignore.

It’s called hardening ones heart

they misinterpreted moses, and twisted his law. So they could never find Christ because he does not fit their interpretation of what moses said,

If the heart of the unbelieving is hardened by God can they become believing?
So is this example of the lost who cannot believe the gospel. Christ does tell them in chapter 8 that because they are not of God they "cannot" hear Him.
