Height almost always matters more to women than it does to men. Men almost always prefer women who look fertile.

By the time a man is in his prime he is older and more successful and seeking a bride younger than himself. Meanwhile women are seeking someone who can be a good provider. Younger women therefore reach their prime earlier than men and often go for older men.

The prime age for men and women aren't proportional. Women reach their prime earlier than man and the timeframe is shorter. Men reach their prime later than women and it lasts longer.

This is why it is best for a woman to marry in her 20s. If a woman remains unmarried by her mid 30s the pool of available mates reduces to almost zero. Single men of the same age bracket remain marriageable for longer as long as they are able to be a provider.

Most women in their 20s do not marry men over 40. If a man wants to find a wife in her 20s, he has to do this by his late 30s. The men in their 40s are left with women in their 30s. I have aunts warning their man-child sons of this, urging them to get married before 40 if they want a wife in her 20s and lots of children.

Yet as Christian's there are not restrictions on women or men of age groups as a people come to salvation at a vast age range in peoples lives and get married at any age..with God being the center of their lives and as they seek him to guide their lives there are not bound by the dynamics of society but by the lordship of christ. So in regards to meeting a partner their age doesn't limit their chances as it is God leading their lives.
I have know female Christians meet someone and get married in their 30's,40's even 50's and even their 60's..
Males are as you said perceived as being the provider and there is much teaching on this too.I guess each situation varies as God leads.
Appreciate your comments though.👍😊

I don't mind if he is shorter than me.

I don't feel that anyone should worry about their height. There is bound to be someone out there who will be OK with your height. So it's not a big deal.

Husband is about the same height as me, maybe an inch taller, and I wouldn't mind if he was shorter, he has a personality caliber to pull any height off. I'm not going to judge people who have deal breaking parameters, but I wonder why is height so important to them.

Amen sister...👏🏻👏🏻The root of it is how a person feels about it..if either one if them are not bothered coz loving each other is the TRUE diamond between them...then nothing else matters.💕

And while it is all well and good for a man to be a hero and defend the woman from danger, it is God who ultimately protects anyone.

I know that no wife would want their husband to die while protecting them. So a wife has to pray for God's protection on the whole family.

It's quite OK for people to have preferences when it comes to appearance, but a wise person will keep an open mind.

Some things are non negotiable. But some things, when you get down to the meat of the matter, are really not important.

Thanks for your comments my dear.I guess some people can feel either empowered by how they look standing physically alongside their spouse or feel somehow inferior...
I mean the media keeps calling Tom cruise point sized..Kevin hart tiny..ect.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😉...we live in a society that in a horrible way judges people by how they look and often validates their worth accordingly..and I guess we all have been influenced by various things growing up subconsciously that can affect what our preferences are as Christian's when it comes to dating ect..

Loved all the varied responses....tried to respond to each one..(dats the kinda guy that I am..😉😉😉)

Women always do a list in this matter lol but once you fit and love your man as he is you will not care, but anyway in my list count yes, according to my canons of beauty. And should be weird to see a couple where the male is her stool (also because we are not used to it). So I think is a matter of beauty and protection, usually woman likes to feel safe and protected, the man likes being the protector.

Very true..coz preceiving the man as "The protector"..can create a subtle form of idolatry if not managed wisely with false expectations being place upon him by his spouse,in laws, society to the point he ends up feeling stressed out and feels like a failure and has no one to show he feels as he thinks it will be seen as a weakness.

Yes its interesting too that some women dont wanna be rescued or protected by a guy coz some feel they have coped with life without him in the past as Christian(long before they met him)..been through hardships without him,had to pick themselves up and keep going without him and have coped with life without him ect..
..so some think....I dont need someone to be protecting me...but to love me..YES..

If the husband has the responsibility to protect his wife, then who protects the single women? And who protects the wife when the husband is not around?

When a woman say they want a man to make them feel safe, I'm not quite understanding. Because I've always depended on God to go with me, watch over me, and keep me safe. I also pray the same for my mom.

I would feel quite blessed to have a spouse to help me carry my heavy shopping bags. Or to help me with chores in the house. I'm cool with that. If there be any danger, we'll call the police. Or run for our lives. I wouldn't want my spouse to put himself in any danger. If anything bad happened to him, I could not tolerate that.

If women are worried about protection, they can learn how to defend themself.

Wonderful commentary my dear and your are totally right in that sense. The role of a husband and wife should be kinda explained in singles forums in local churches with a great Q@A to help people understand what the roles are and what the roles are not.
Christ and the church is the metaphor used in the bible to describe the relational dynamic of a husband and wife.To give you a clearer understanding of what it means for a husband to protect his wife is to go back to Adam and Eve.Adam was Eves spiritual covering before God which is what a husband is for his wife. This implies that loves her more than he loves himself(sacrificial love)..unto the lord,he grows in his understanding of her by praying for her, listening to her,he prayers for her physical and spiritual protection and does what is humanity possible to protect her and support her in life as a man where appropriate.
He serves her into God and his role provides for her a beautiful sense of being loved and deeply appreciated...yet you both use common sense in real life dangers and he shouldn't abandon wisdom.
You both pray for each others daily protection together as a couple and in your own time alone and minister to each other in various ways.
God is ultimately the one you both rely on for protection, provision, blessings ect and he will use you to be a bless ing to each other.
I hope this kinda helps..😊

Thats hard to tell as in the animal kingdom animals that are the same breed also come in various sizes..I guess this is the uniqueness of creation in general.

Speaking if which in the animal kingdom has you noticed how many animals seek to make themselves look bigger inorder to intimidate a rival ect...so it seems that size does seem to matter in one way or another.😊
reading about the men who came to fight with David against Saul.
One group of men was said to have faces like lions...
Try to imagine what that looked like and what kind of heart that had that gave them that face.
made me thing of the term "thousand yard stare"
You don't have to be tall or big to be intimidating, you just have to have the heart that holds nothing back, including your own life.

To clarify, when I mentioned the preference for men to be tall/broad and women being fertile, I was talking evolutionary preference in finding a mate, not about the mate that God has chosen for us.

meh I just think people should be EXACTLY the same size. But they arent. God took a rib out of Adam and Eve was made from just ONE rib. So women tend to be smaller not just in height.

That also means women tend to work ten times as harder as man to keep up. The annoying thing is men have often belittled womens efforts as if what we do doesnt count.

In spiritual terms though height doesnt matter. Zaccheus climbed a tree to see better.
The interesting thing is, females MATURE earlier then males. Ever teach a class of boys and girls of similar age. the girls always outpace the boys! Boys are comparatively clumsier. what advantages they have in size make things awkward for them when they need to do things in detail.

Its the little things that count.
You would think the opposite.
Adam is missing one and Eve has it.
Women would be taller then right?
