God "eats" with us, and we "eat" with HIm, (symbolically speaking). According to the Bible, we "eat" Jesus as our "bread and drink" (John 6:55) And also, the church of God on earth is called, "one bread." I Corinthians 10:17. Also, I think as "New Testament priests" - can be pictured as eating the shewbread, which only priests in Old Testament times could eat. Also, Jesus is our "Passover lamb" (I Corinthians 5:7) - and we figuratively always eat at the New Testament type of "Passover feast" - with our main food being that of "unleavened bread."

When the Lord was teaching the Israelites about this principle they were to watch their literal food as a symbol of their spiritual food. All animals who ate garbage were forbidden, now we are told that what we literally eat is only eliminated, but what we take into our hearts and minds is not. We must watch that we receive our daily bread.

It makes me wonder about feeding my mind from TV and our modern books.

A bit esoteric and I am wondering what you are trying to say.

In the Word, Blood is the life in any being. With this in mind when we change or rather, are changed, we live the true Life in conforming with our Lord, Jesus.

We obey His teaching, that is to say our daily Bread, for He is the kBread from Haven.

This is strue communion, doing it in memory of Yeshua. All blessings and love in Jesus, Yeshua...j

The bread and wine are symbols of our dear Lord's sufferings. Jesus said

this do in remembrance of me. Lk.22:19

So when we get persecuted for the faith, we remember how Jesus was terribly mistreated,

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1Cor,11;26

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the.... participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death Phil.3:10

do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you.....as you participate in the sufferings of Christ 1Pet.4:12-13

for I bear on my body the marks of the Lord Jesus Gal.6:17

for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Mt.5:12 Heb.11:35-38

Well, I'm just trying to show the symbolism for the word, "bread" - that has to do with reference to with our union with Christ. We are spiritually alive, through the presence of Jesus in our lives. And through living our lives in accordance with God's Word, - which is "the bread of life." Even Jesus, when in human form on earth - described this "bread" as being what kept Him spiritually alive (this spiritual "bread" is far more important than the bread we eat for the sustenance of our physical bodies):

John 4:32

32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
KJV

John 6:51

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
KJV

I do not think Jesus was demonstrating a ceremony, when He illustrated to "take of the bread and wine" every time they met together for fellowship. I think He was only demonstrating the fact that we are to remain in Christ, always, and when we meet together for fellowship with others. To do otherwise is hypocrisy, and not acceptable to God.

I haven't been to a ceremony of that kind for probably over 13 years - probably because I think most churches don't do it nearly
as often as was common in early times of the USA.

Furthermore, on reflection - I think of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, and of how grateful I am for it - multiple times each day - probably 20 times or more! And those those have a much more profound affect on me, than a ceremony could - I think. Though the ceremony is fine for those who either think it is required or who feel benefited by it.

A bit esoteric and I am wondering what you are trying to say.

Jesus is the Bread of Life. Just as bread nourishes our physical bodies, Jesus gives and sustains eternal life to all believers. John 6:35 - "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." Jesus used figurative language to emphasize these spiritual truths. John 6:63 - "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life."

By faith we partake of Christ, and the benefits of His bodily sacrifice on the cross and shed blood, receiving eternal life.

John 6:40 - Everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:54 - Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:47 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.
John 6:58 - He who eats this bread will live forever.

"He who believes" in Christ is equivalent to "he who eats this bread and drinks My blood" as the result is the same, eternal life.

Bread represents the "staff of life." Sustenance. That which essential to sustain life. Just as bread or sustenance is necessary to maintain physical life, Jesus is all the sustenance necessary for spiritual life.

The source of physical life is blood -- "life is in the blood." As with the bread, just as blood is the empowering or source of life physically, Jesus is all the source of spiritual life necessary.

Well said! I agree with all you said on this and the accompanying verses on the subject!

I've observed people ordering strawberries, chocolate chip cookies and even filet mignon for the great feast they think they will be invited to......however I'm almost certain we will be served bread and water....Bread of Life and Living Water.

Yes, that makes a whole lot more sense! And asking for strawberries etc. in the future is just fantasy - though yes, it may exist - but they are incorrect to say they know it will be there.

The Bread from Heaven was born, in of all places, the city named the House of Bread or Bethlehem.

That Bread from Heaven is Jesus, Yeshua, and if you need to find Him, invite Him into your heart and believe Him forevermore.
