NYC Orthodox Jews Burn Masks, Chant ‘Jew Lives Matter’ in Defiance of Cuomo’s Threats
By Lucy Collins | October 7, 2020 |

(CNS News) -- Orthodox Jewish residents of Brooklyn took to the streets Tuesday night to protest New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s (D) threat to “close the synagogues.” Protestors burned face masks and chanted “Jew Lives Matter,” while police attempted to control the crowd.

At a press conference on Monday, Cuomo singled out the Orthodox Jewish community for violating the reinstated COVID-19 restrictions, which mainly target Jewish neighborhoods or “hotspots.”

“I have to say to the Orthodox community tomorrow, 'If you're not willing to live with these rules, then I'm going to close the synagogues,'” said Cuomo.

"It's a difficult conversation,” he said. “You’re right on the line of government intrusion on religion, so it's hard. I didn’t want to close down 1,000 bars, put people out of work. But I know in NYC’s case 26 enforcement actions, that with this rampant ongoing violation, you think 26 enforcement actions was going to stop it?” - Andrew Cuomo

He seems to think that government intrusion on religion is justified by closing down 1,000 bars?

sadly, while this type stuff is going on, we have Christians telling folks ( on this very site no less) to just shut up, stop being rebellious and obey the government.

sad.

I wonder if Karl Marx is spinning in his crypt due to his laughter or great satisfaction that the opium of the masses is being cut to near nothing now and by the dealers?

I hope the members of those synagogues in NY follow the example of California's Pastor John MacArthur.
And I pray they win their suit.

And maybe there will be judges there that will follow the example of this one. Praying so.

Also, I think Cuomo has been fed the same water as what has created our resident dictator in Covidfornia.
We gotta do something about that water supply people. Crazy leadership is happening in more than just this one blue state. How do you suppose the authorities are going to ascertain where the NY citizens traveled?
NY imposes quarantine, fines up to $10,000 for travelers from coronavirus hotspots
The quarantine order that went into effect on Thursday applies to any person coming from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah or any other state where there is a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a 7-day rolling average or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average.

Meanwhile mosques work... Shut down all, or none, that would be a good start if anyone wants any compliance from anybody, you discriminate people then complain when they don't take it lying down. But what to expect, politicians and celebs gathered in various giant funeral gatherings for the camera during this whole time, while common people couldn't even mourn their loss and their family members were cast into mass graves because their loss didn't matter, but loss of various celebs mattered and big gatherings were organized to mourn their passing. But what am I saying... excuse me... I think I glitched... back to the regular programming, I meant to say, we're all in this together, and politicians and celebs have been our guiding stars in this pandemic from their multimillion dollar villas. As pertaining to the news, I'd grab my popcorn now the whole narrative is about to get flipped on the head... 🍿🍿🍿

Take heart. Those who subjected themselves to the law did well, even though the ordinance was unjust and discriminatory. God will always fight for His people, we just need to be still - He always sorts things out. Do you not see it in the commotion? You can trample Christians all day long without consequences, but minorities are something else. Cuomo won't get away with this... I thought his brain must have fizzled out to discriminate against a minority... and because, thank God, he made this stupid mistake, his unjust ordinances against religious gatherings are about to be retracted and, if I'm right, with quickness. :) And then, Christians will be free to go to church. He needs to be told the example of Daniel disobeying the law to worship God, they threw him in the lion's den and the lions befriended him, lol. Then the King threw the instigators in the furnace and we know what happened next.

I wouldn't go that far to call the religious gathering ordinances "banning worship", everybody can still worship at home, but it's certainly a hostility and discrimination towards religious people. Of course, only SOME religious people are the problem; mosques and other places of religious activities are acceptable.

I heard this on the radio the other day. Funny how the Jewish Community by and large has always voted Democrat. Maybe they are beginning to learn (like the Black community) that the Democrats have done very little to support and protect them. Will they, or the blacks, finally stop voting for Socialism and start voting for Democracy? I do not have a lot of faith that either of them will.

That is truly sad,

If only we would all realize that our enemies are only puppets of G-d. It is not “how can we stop the persecutor” but rather when will “WE” get the message that it is our evil deeds that cause for G-d’s harsh judgment.

When we focus on our enemies allow, we are no greater than a dog that tries to bite the stick that hits it, failing to see it really is the Master who is in control of the stick.

We need to bill the state of NY for the costs related to the covid19 outbreak in Florida. All those fine citizens that left the NY lock down and came to Florida in the spring. Seems to me that whole south are beneficiaries of NY escapees.

Worshiping at home isn't the same as worshiping together as the synagogue or church.
I'm waiting to hear Cuomo sets the same restrictions on mosques. And waiting, and waiting, and....

A Trump Appointee, Gotta Love It, reading Hebrew 10:25!

Hebrews 10:25KJV
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Imagine if it was liberal majority in the US Supreme Court?

Looks like many cities and states are gonna open up the piggy bank for their over reaching powers, in restricting religious freedoms and the 1st Amendment?

They should open their piggy bank and then be ushered into a prison cell for a long term of years.
Do that make it a life feed for the Net and a public media event on the courthouse steps. It may send a message to the other crony politicians once they see the penalty for violating our rights.
The constitution isn't a document of privileges. It is a document of rights. Our rights that are enumerated to protect us from government overreach and corruption. And violation thereof should be prosecuted just like anyone who breaks a law is prosecuted.

The status of Untouchable is what has gotten this country into the pit it is in. Clear the pit, the swamp, by imprisoning or executing the most egregious offenders, those who commit treason and espionage, and we will see the swamp start to shrink.
When selling out their country makes them money, where's the deterrent?
When selling out their country costs their lives or the rest of their life in a prison cell.
And if that doesn't work? They're demonstrating a personality that is so obstinately evil that they deserve what comes. Because we deserve better.

We hear all this talk about prison reform. (I agree, long overdue). I'm all for government reform. Gotta start somewhere. Why not at the top? In Congress!
And as those proceedings begin onward to the states. Watch out Cuomo! Watch out Newsom!

And the insult? Is self inflicted. When we re-elect the cronies! The corrupt! The treasonous. Those evil workers of Sedition.
As if to tell them, and they receive the message certainly as, go ahead! Screw us again for another two years! We clearly don't mind.
So why would they stop? When it makes them rich and us mad.
