Who among us has never or even often doubted the Bible, God & Christ? Am I the only one that will admit to it, or am I the only truthful one here?

That fact leaves me with the fear of God on my mind wondering if I'll make the cut because of my faith, or often lack thereof. Jesus tells us “by faith alone are ye saved.” But what level of faith is saving to the everlasting life? Jesus tells us, “who soever believeth in me shall not perish, but have everlasting life,” but doesn’t tell us how strong our belief in him makes the cut or fails to make the cut. Jesus saved the thief on the cross without reservation or condition simply because the thief said Jesus was a just and blameless man. Is it that easy for everybody, one sentence of belief and faith and salvation is guaranteed? How do we know if we’re really saved and what about if we die during a moment of doubt?

Odd assertion that it someone says they have never doubted the existence and Truth of God is a liar. Not sure you or anyone can make such an assertion without being guilty of a small lie yourself.

I guess it may depend on how a person was raised. From the first memories I have, I remember being raised to believe in God, and learned of Jesus, and the Gospel. So, call me a liar if you wish, but I have never doubted God or Jesus or the Gospel.

As for the other parts of your comment referring to John 3:16, "believeth" actually means a continuous, never ending belief, and not just a one time event. Additional Scriptures reveal the truth of this.

"But he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved" Matthew 24:13

God wants our ALL! Not just a "now and again" belief, nor an occasional service to Him. People who do those sort of things are not going to fare well on the day of Judgement in my opinion.

Those who are saved know they are saved. We know because of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that stands as a witness to our salvation. Moments of a weakness of faith are not the same as unbelief. This all becomes clear as a believer is saved, sanctified and justified, and grows and matures in Jesus and His Gospel.

You have been sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption..You can doubt, you can fail , you can stumble. We all will and do . You are secure in Jesus. Nothing can separate you. Not even you . Read Ephesians when ever you doubt your security in Christ ..

I can honestly say that since God revealed Himself to me I have never doubted His existence and what Jesus has done for us. The walk however, trusting Him in His promises etc. Yes I certainly have but as you walk it out, He shows you He truly is true to His Word.
My own feelings unworthyness etc are more of a problem than anything else.

I can honestly say that I can’t remember a time where I doubted that Jesus Christ was Lord, God Himself in the flesh, resurrected from the dead, or the Word of God in the Bible.

I did have doubts about my Salvation at one time, but not who Jesus is or His resurrection.

Romans 13 says we are to receive
A brother of weak faith, and are to build one another up. I do not know who has never doubted some aspect of who God is, or the nature of God and what He does or does not do. Who can know God in His entirety other than Christ? Therefore we will have confusions and doubts and uncertainties at times. But the gift of faith helps us press on through them all.

Take heart! We are none of us perfect in anyway, including in our faith. But standing in Christ’s faithfulness and righteousness we are indeed perfect :)

Even the man who says “I do believe,
Help my unbelief” has enough faith to
have what he asked of Christ :) truth and humility and leaning into Christ’s mercy and grace is enough to cover our lack of faith if we have any at any time.

Seeing the suffering that many people go through whether it be on a personal level or individuals in a faraway place through electronic mediums, definitely raises doubts. Theologians throughout the ages have written many treatises on the subject. Most are not satisfying or comforting.

Wouldn't it be great that we could wait in expectation all the time. Sadly were afraid of a no reply subconsciously.
But that's ok never stop seeking. Remember Abrahams count down for the righteous?
The prayer of Daniel that got delayed?
Or how about that prayer warrior that you will never meet this side of glory that prayer for you?
Or the prayer of Jesus for us still coming true today....
Always remember father knows best and if the answer is no or wait it's for the best.

I don't doubt Jesus as Messiah or the resurrection.

I do have some doubts on the major Christian doctrines, especially where there are disagreements (for ex. Catholicism vs Protestantism), where everyone thinks they have the right answer, but I believe they were taught to think that way based on how they were raised or if they only stuck to one denomination and not explored other denominations, etc.

Yes, when I see suffering especially major sufferings such as abuse, I don't question the existence of God but sometimes I wonder why God did not protect them.

It would appear that all denominations are using the same writings having distinct determinations.

If all believers would agree the Bible is the Word of God, they would all be in agreement on that point at least, then following the teachings of the Word receive the Holy Spirit and learn all revelations of truth from Him.

People do not for they are flesh, but the Spiritual individual does exact6ly this I believe.

God bless all who believe Jesus-Yeshua, and all who will, amen.

Without doubt, questioning, strivings where is the test of faith?

Real faith is in the answers to questions of faith and battles to overcome. 😀

Faith is not blind but tested and refined

Everyone has doubted anyone who says otherwise it probably the worst liar to ever exist and should not even attempt to try to lie.
Honestly I have often wondered the same thing, for me I wanted to be saved and knew only he could save me but for some reason this wasn't enough I had to reach the point where everything in my life was garabge to me compared to him I even tried to bargain with him offering all my possesions and my own life if I could just have him come into my heart only then was I saved filled with life and the spirit was like a blazing fire the power and love of God was unbelievable

This however is not how all are saved some may not experience what I did when I was saved because we are all called for things. But you know I think there is a difference in saying that Christ is lord and savior and truly believing it, it is not declaring he is Lord that saves the person it is believing it with all your heart we come to him because we want to be saved we want to be free we want something more than this life but so many also seem to be Christian by title only not by heart so what is it that makes the difference between the two?

If I had to guess it is love. you know you are saved when you know you love him when you know you want to be close to him when you don't walk the walk because that is what a Christian does but you do so because your heart told you so you do iut out of the willingness of your heart. Making the cut has nothing to do with the equation there is a reason I now believe in eternal salvation I used to believe that one can lose it and I was always in fear of my sins I always felt like I was not good enough I was afraid of my mistakes and my flaws and I feared imaginign the face he would have if I came before him right now. But I saw a teacher recently on youtube by the name of Rober breaker his knowledge and understanding of scripture is honestly astonishing

The way he described well part of how he described it was the definition the words eneteral salvation, like I him I put great importance of the definition of words and how they are used and describeed the word eternal as everlasting without beginning or end without measure and salvation being saved now when you are saved it isn't by your own strength it by the strength of someone else.

This made me think about works vs faith if eternal salvation is based on his everlasting strength and salvation and has nothing to do with our strengths or our doing then by that definition it is our faith in him alone that saved and will continue to hold us in his salvation not by our works not by our mistakes or anything to do with us. Only when I understood this was I finally able to fight back against the enemy when my doubts and fears and my low self view of myself would attack me

Even John the Baptist had his moment of doubt.
I think the number one cause of doubt, is when we get it in our minds that there is something that we must do, when there is nothing we can do. Too many "churches" teach a doctrine of doubt, evangelicalism is rife with it. Like the idea of saying a sinners prayer being what saves, or that one can lose their salvation by another means than appostacy, and works based salvation.
Another one is that baptism is nothing but symbolism, and that the supper is nothing more than a memorial service.
I had doubts and fears until I learned who God and Jesus really are and that his salvation and his sacraments are a promise to us.

How do you mean the sinners prayer doesn't save?

I see this posted a lot and dont really get it.

I see the sinners prayer as the same as Romans 10:9-10

Its clear in that chapter.. it is how someone is saved eternally.

I know just saying a pre set bunch of words ain't eternal salvation.

Its conviction from the Holy Spirit that an individual responds to with belief in Jesus.

But yeah.. just not sure what people mean when the say the prayer doesn't save.

I may have doubted something at some stage since becoming a Christian.. But honestly i cannot remember having any doubts..

I became a Christian at around 22 years old.. So that was over 30 years ago..
