So earlier this year, thanks to COVID, I ended up without a job and having to move across the country with my sister. I love her to death, but she's very spontaneous and always talking about picking up and moving some place else to go on a crazy adventure, even now with the economy up in the air! Meanwhile, I'm struggling to find employment and reestablish myself, besides trying to connect with people in the area. Starting over is never easy, and I'm feeling quite vulnerable and uncertain right now, and so if anyone could help me in my prayers to the Lord to stabilize again, I would be grateful beyond words!

Thank you! God bless ❤

I am very much in the midst of a similar adventure. I will say a prayer for God to give you stability in all areas of your life. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

Thank you so much! I'll uplift my own prayer to God for you, as well! Hopefully by next year, we can look back and laugh at these crazy times! ❤️

What doesn't kill us can only make us stronger. At least that is how the saying goes but I believe that there is an element of spiritual truth to that.

My wife and I are getting up in years and she wanted an adventure of moving to Tennessee from Florida where we have lived for years. We sold our comfortable townhome in Clearwater and for the last month we have been living in motels waiting for the closing of our smaller new home later this month in Jamestown, which is very old and lacking the amenities such as many choices shopping and restaurants. On the plus side there is less traffic and hopefully, with the down-size are monthly expenses will be lower.

I had to resign my position and until we move in will be unemployed. Hopefully, I will only have to work part-time instead of the many hours that I used to work.

Also, her adult daughter (40) has been living with us for over 1 1/2 years and is with us too. Together, there are 3 of us with 3 cats and we are paying for her expenses too. My wife has made it clear that once we get settled in she must find a job to help out with expenses and save for her own place. I have lived in many places but her daughter only knows the Tampa / St. Pete / Clearwater area. She is very unhappy here but she has had months and months to find another job to replace the one that she quit because she couldn't handle the stress, and find another place to live besides with us. I can sympathize with her but there is a thin line between being helpful verses being an enabler.

Oh, yeah, it's much colder here than Florida and is currently snowing. Not good. Still, I will enjoy the change of seasons which I have not had for years. Just got to get through the winter.

I just really want a peaceful life with my wife and work part-time if at all. Perhaps learn to bake bread and stuff like that. This has been a very stressful year for all of us. but I intend to make the most of it because I love my wife.

Yes, life is a series of adventure but well worth the cost of admission. Many such journey's are possible and pray that yours is one, like you say, that you can look back on and laugh. It's not so bad if you think about it.

Heavenly Father
May you please provide Rosegold04 with employment. And may You please not bless her with just any job, but a job that she will excel in and enjoy.
Your word says that You shall supply all our needs according to your riches and glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). And that You can do above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20) May you please supply her need.
In Jesus name
Amen

Wow, you've got your hands full! My situation is almost similar to your stepdaughter in that I had to move in with my sister, and I'm still adjusting to and learning to like where I live now, but I want to find work, become self sufficient, and able to pay her back besides pulling my own weight. The local economy isn't too yielding right now, but the storm doesn't last always! Thank you for sharing your story with me! It helps to know many of us are in the same boat! May God bless your family, sir!

My parents downsized a few years ago (from a two-story townhome/4 large bedrooms to a one-story townhome/3 small bedrooms) and are happier. The bills are lower and there is less cleaning; there are also less things to maintain. I think it has also made them closer living in a smaller space.

A lot of what you have described in your story is very familiar. I have "been there and done that"...

I will say a prayer for you.

In what general area of Texas did you and your sister end up? And, where did you come from?

No pressure - only tell what you feel comfortable with. :)

I understand that! I lived in a small place before this, but being by myself, it made that small place sort of big to maintain alone, besides expensive. It's definitely better sticking together.

Praying God will provide, and He IS the Anchor which holds your life close to Him.
