Senate and House pass COVID-19 relief bill, measure heads to Trump's desk The COVID-19 Stimulus Bill Would Make Illegal Streaming a Felony | Hollywood Reporter This is without a doubt the most corrupt piece of legislation I've ever seen pass in my life. A measly $600 in corona relief while favors and handouts are given to donors and lobbyists. This government is evil and corrupt. May the Lord come soon . I don't know how much more we can take.

What do you consider illegal streaming?

How much should the government give out from all that money that they don't have?

The streaming has me concerned because it could open a door whereby a streamer could be arrested simply by accidentally playing a copyright protected song, like say their phone goes off during their stream and their ringtone is a song that's protected ,is that going to be considered a dmca violation? This should be debated and not stuffed in a must pass spending bill. As for the stimulus $600 is nothing . You can't even pay rent with that. How is that going to help people forced out of work by the shutdowns (,which I'm also against)? You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany than the US Congress and that includes both parties.

I've been keeping watch on "copyright" garbage like this for almost a decade . Being a content creator I have to. There always insidious and they always work against the common working folk. Hollywood is full of snakes. I hope this doesn't pass. This has nothing to do with covid.

Every bill passed in Washington is filled with pork.
Nothing new here.
Just enough crumbs to try to keep the public happy while wasting 99% of our tax money and mortgaging our future to the point of no return.

Found some good news. The average folk is exempt and it will only apply to large organizations, not everyday streamers https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2020/12/case-act-just-beginning-next-copyright-battle

For now . I won't be surprised if some music group tries to use it on an individual later on. It's a slippery slope.
Yes, perhaps I shouldn't use the word "Good" as there are multiple other bill's in the works set destroy the internet and its users.

On streaming. I have a problem with people who stream for profit what they know is copyrighted. I believe that, depending on dollar value of the copyrighted property, it should be a felony. The act is no different than hacking your bank account and taking your paycheck. Both are theft.

On stimulus money. I believe that direct payments should only be in the form of a subsidy for those who are unemployed as direct result of their employer being shutdown. I don't believe in handing out free money. I also don't approve of spending what you don't have. Person or Government!

Greedy is as greedy does. Streaming? That should be their biggest worry. Blinded by the light

With you 100%. The difference here is that they should have made it two separate Bills- a budget Omnibus and a Stimulus Bill. It was a political play so they could say Trump delayed or denied the stimulus. That election in Georgia is influencing a lot of things.

That said, I'm personally opposed to both. If a budget is so big that no one person can read it in a reasonable amount of time, then we have to change how we spend money. Stimulus bills are just highway robbery in general.

That $600 is a joke and an insult. And to concoct about 6,000 pages of garbage to support the defrauding of the American public is unconscionable.

A genuine COVID Relief bill could have been put on ONE PAGE, and $6,000 for each one who has suffered loss of income should have been the minimum. Only wage-earners and small businesses should have been offered relief. Which means that probably just one billion dollars would have sufficed. But all this should have happened long ago.

I have not changed my view at all. The scamdemic was bogus. But that does not mean that it did not adversely affect people. It had a huge impact on wage-earners and small businesses. Therefore COVID relief was the least that the government should have done. But it is now far too little and much too late.

At the very least genuine citizens who lost jobs, homes, businesses, and family members should have received $6,000 as COMPENSATION FOR DAMAGES wrought by the bogus pandemic lockdowns etc. Businesses probably needed at least $60,000 for loss of revenues. And if only these people were compensated, chances are that less than a billion dollars would suffice. As I noted, a ONE PAGE document would have been quite appropriate.

Now even that $2,000 suggested by Trump is in jeopardy (since it is back to the drawing board), and it is Christmas day tomorrow. So what do you think should be done to all the Congressmen (and women ) and Senators?

If government were a business, these employees would have all been fired for (1) dereliction of duty, (2) gross negligence in not carefully crafting and reviewing this so-called *stimulus" bill composed of almost 6,000 pages, (3) gross mismanagement of funds with billions being simply thown away and (4) total squandering of time and resources (not to mention playing politics and giving aid and comfort to enemies).

I know there are some that will call for arms against them , but this is of no use ... America has to play its part in prophecy as it is written ...

Revelation 13

The Beast Out of the Earth

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Shalom ...

Dem's should be ashamed. This travesty of a bill gives illegal aliens $1,200. and American's but $600.
And how do they know where to send the checks to illegals but claim they don't know where illegals are in order to arrest them?
Smithsonian gets 1Billion! They're closed. Kennedy Center, closed too, they get millions.

I'm so glad Trump had the wherewith all to have a team review these 5thousand+ pages and then make the travesty within them public.
Four more years!
Can't wait till January 6th.

It's not just the Dems . The Gop stuffed it work pork too, like Thom Tillis DMCA law ,which should be debated separately. Both parties are corrupt. I hope POTUS vetoes this because it's wrong and disgraceful.
