Scriptural numerology is the utilization of numbers for their representative worth and what they speak to in Biblical writings – for instance, the seven days of creation in Genesis 1. Numbers are Biblical methods God addresses His kin. For those delicate to "See " with prophetic vision what God is uncovering, are hearing His voice uproariously. As one of the numerous Biblical instances of numbers, seven alludes to "a day of rest" (Genesis 2:3). Numerology is the thing that Bible researchers accept is the setting of importance on numbers in the Scriptures. There is supposed to be mathematical qualities in the numbers in the Pentateuch or what is known as the Torah, the initial five books of the Bible.
Mathematics is the language of God or at least a prominent portion of it. Each and every number in the bible is of critical importance in the understanding of certain portions of scripture.

God certainly seems to have assigned predictable significance to some numbers.

It appears to be consistently true that: 3 is the number of God, 6 is the number of man, 7 is the number of perfection,

and 666 is the number of the antichrist. There are likely many other numbers with predictable significance.

IMO, a problem arises when people try to apply numerology in a systematic way; as did the Jewish Cabalists, and the 'Christian' Mystics.
In scripture the number nine is symbolic of completion. Christ died on the ninth hour as an example. The number one is symbolic of the one true God. Today there is great signifcance in the number 911. It is a warning sign that the democracy in the US is threatened, it is a call for help.

Perhaps, it is God telling us it is time to turn to Him, we are in the last days.

So this is really bugging me here. I heard of numerology a long time ago the belief that numbers have spiritual meaning to them like the number three and seven with God six with satan and so on and how apparently God will be trying to send message using numbers that seem to appear in the same sequence a lot.

I didn't want anything to do with this so I stayed far away from it and yet I still for some reason keep seeing these things.

The ones I saw on almost a daily basis are 911 888 and recently 666. I don't just see them on the clock I see them everywhere and I always try to ignore it I don't want to be looking for it so I try to simply ignore it but I still for some reason keep seeing these numbers. I don't even know if numerology is even biblical
Yes, it is Biblical.

math is an universal language, for sure. and God also created it, and in many parts of scripture, it seems pretty clear that numbers are used symbolically.
my opinion is that we as humans can take that way farther than we should. "numerology" is a pretty broad label - there is some truth, and there is some error, and some running away chasing wind in it too.

i get the idea behind "common core" but the method of teaching it is misguided IMHO. it's trying to teach a way of thinking about algebra that i'm not convinced can really be 'taught' by rote; it's a conceptual thing that i'm sure will butchered by a lot of people who simply don't think in this way, and that adds to the bad rap it's getting. maybe it was a good idea in some sense on the drawing board but it's all gone wrong :p
still, 1 + 1 = 2, even in 'common core.'

but that's using a certain measure, in a certain geometry - a linear one.
there are other situations and other measures where 1 + 1 ≠ 2 . . .
for example i think we are familiar with one where 1 + 1 + 1 = 1 bro :)

[/ mathrant]
Our Lord is a G0d of balance, not of extremes. It is true of everything of the Lord.

Everything of our life is based on math. Art reflects math, even. To learn to sketch is a matter of seeing the mathamatical angles in our world. Music is based on math.

But it is within the balance that is of the Lord to see the significance of important numbers in our life like 911. There are people working to do away with money and credit cards by using math. One idea is to have our number stamped on our hand. You have all seen the labels on merchandise that represent numbers. Some say the number six is a fundamental part of those numbers. I don't think it is going to extremes if we watch for significant numbers in our world today. It would be extreme if we look at every single number in our life.

I forgot I even made this thread. As far as seeing numbers goes the one number that continues to occur for me is the number eight which means new life new begginings and the true born again experience of man I don't look for the number it just keeps popping up everywhere the number twenty is oddly just as common even recently I realied that my birthday is december 20th I never thought about how the number 20 which represents true sight especially in a spiritual sense was alighned with my birthday I always tell people especially those who are down and broken and who only see themselves as trash that I see with different eyes recently I actually brought a girl to tears that I met because of the way I see her
The other number that I continue to see is 21 that number in particular is why I think the tribulation will really start in 2021 this number represents God dealing with the rebellion and sin of man

Honestly I don't put a lot of stock in seeing numbers but I do love finding how God uses them in his word I am not good at math but calculating numbers in the bible yields some suprising amazing results.
But there is also a down side because some people will actively look f0or such things in everyday life and instead of looking to God and his word will try to find messages from them there are even those who worship angels who do this

God and his word should always be our first and main go to and when people forget this then they can go down a loose path

Numerology has been a widespread practice in Africa, Asia, and the Americas since ancient times. It's got a certain allure, even in modern society, because it claims to be able to accurately predict information on one's traits and future, or show patterns and codes you wouldn’t otherwise understand. Many Christians are now using numerology to predict their own lives, or use it in an effort to decode the Bible. However are these practices something God would approve of? Can they be used for fun, or does that cross a line? Here is what the Bible really has to say about numerology.

Numerology in the Bible
Numbers in the Bible can often be taken literally, but they are sometimes used as symbols. Many scholars have used numerology to see patterns and codes in the Bible. You yourself may be able to find lots of verses with numbers in them. Numerology attempts to explain the meaning of these numbers to see what God may be telling us by using them. However, nowhere are we taught to look for systems of numbers in the scripture much less told what those numbers signify. The Bible is supposed to be authoritative. Yet, when we start looking for numerical patterns, the best anyone is doing is guessing.

The truth is numerologists can find whatever they want in the Bible. The Bible is a huge book, and once someone begins adding up and dividing numbers they are bound to find some types of patterns. This would happen with any long book – like a dictionary or encyclopedia. If you look hard enough or manipulate the numbers well, patterns can be constructed anywhere. At this point it really transforms form being a student of the Bible to being a conspiracy theorist.

There is only one place that may have some legitimate play in numerology, and that is the mark of the beast in Revelation. However that one piece of scripture doesn’t give us further authority to start messing around with other numbers in the Bible. When we add up Bible Verses in an effort to find hidden meanings, we are taking authority away from God’s Word. source

It should be noted that the new member who kicked this old thread into life again, is not a Christian and saw an opportunity to link to a site about numerology. Right on the homepage we read this:

Align Your Purpose
With
The Natural Patterns Of The Universe

Discover what YOUR numbers reveal about your future

Really? Come on Christians. wakey wakey

There has been a trend in perhaps the last 10 years or so, (or longer) to find number patterns in scripture. There is not a precedent for this and I do not find nor believe that is a biblical practice.

using numbers to predict your future or using the universe is sadly a thing many do but there is always a copy and pervesion by the enemy from what God has already done.

There are certain numbers all throughout the bible that appear frequently 30 40 76 3 12 109 67 and many others but have we ever considered why and what they represent? Like I have said many times the bible is like an onion or the rearths crust it has many layers and numbers has always been a method God used all throughout scripture but there is always a meaning or purpose for those numbers studying the purpose and meaning of which they were used is wisdom not conspiracy putting to much stock in them or seeking numbers in our daily lives is

There is no question that numbers are meaningful and significant to God and Christ. Numbers represent spiritual truths in the Bible.

And on a wider scale, the universe is designed mathematically in the minutest details with mathematical precision. Which means that God Himself is the Great Mathematician, who has led men to discover the science of numbers within all branches of mathematics.

Ineed, for instance the number seven which is a sacred number to the hebrews it is a number that appears 2876 times in the bible the term seven fold is found seven times and the number seven is a combination of three and four three is perfection and represents the holy trinity four is the completeness of creation of the world the four seasons the east west north and south the four phases of the moon the four elements wind water fire and earth ect.

I only discovered this because God lead me to study how numbers are used and to look at all of his creation and ponder the meaning from the perspective of one who blocks their understanding of numbers it appears as conspiracy or satanic religious practice but there is a reason numbers are often used Jesus even asked Peter three times do you love me but why three? Jesus went through the desert for forty days and nights just as the jews had to for forty years Jesus began his ministry at age thirty which is the age that the jews saw as fully matured and also was the age required to perform any ministry

At the very least one can be guided to learn many things they otherwise wouldn't by studying these things

I would have nothing and less than nothing to do with the practices of any numerology. As you say, the devil perverts what is good. Since the Bible does not offer any sort of indication that numerology is a practice accepted by God, I would not have anything to do with it.

Like many things, it can lead a person down the wrong path. But as I pointed out, the person who kicked up this thread again, is not a Christian and posts a link to a site that is not beneficial to a Christian.

People just gonna do what they are gonna do I guess.

Numbers have value and meaning. I guess of you give them meaning they don't have or turn them into idolatry then you are out of line.

I personally don't look for secrets knowledge hidden with in numbers. There is only one number given in the bible that is a secret code.

Except the majority of nine or nineth in bible has nothing to do with "completion". The bible didn't assign these meanings to various numbers, man did, and there is a bias and an inherent error when man is involved in such things.

I am always impressed with how our Lord is a God of balance, of moderation. We are to be led by Christ, not numerology. At the same time, we need to be aware of the numbers that are symbolic of things of the Lord. When a number becomes important in our lives, as 911 is important, it is not against Christ to look at what those numbers symbolize.

Numerology in the Bible is alright like the 12 tribes of Israel, and the 12 disciples, which both are written in the New Jerusalem as well as other numbers used by God.

But these numbers are according to God in the Bible, and the occult believes in the power of numbers to exalt themselves by the power of nature, or the God of forces in which they believe they are still evolving to be greater and spiritual.

The occult believes in the power of numbers and the timing, adding, and grouping of numbers which they believe will give them power through nature, and a better chance of their plan succeeding.

According to the world numerology is not valid for they cannot get power through nature by adhering to certain numbers like they believe they can for there is no benefit there but like Eve they believe the lie that they can be godlike.

The Antichrist, beast, is of the occult and the new age movement, and believes in the power of numbers, and 6 is the number of a man, or the soul of man, so the man of sin assigned the number 666 to himself, a triple 6, for he believes it will give him more power through nature, and a better chance of his plan succeeding.

It will be the new age movement and their false interpretation of the Bible that will deceive the world to rebel against God (1 Timothy 4:1-5; 2 Timothy 4:2-4).

1. Three (3) is the first sacred number, the first perfect number (Westcott, p. 41). Three represents the Pagan Trinity.” (Westcott, p. 37). It is represented geo-metrically in the triangle, and spiritually as the Third Eye Of Hinduism. Occultists will multiply and add three to other sacred numbers to create new numbers. However, they also group threes in two’s and threes, because they believe in the principle of “intensification”, i.e., that greater power is achieved when a sacred number is grouped. In the case of three, greater intensification is achieved when it is shown as 33, or 333. 333 + 333 equals 666. Occultists have used 333 as the hidden symbol by which they present the more offensive number 666. When the details of an event are so arranged as to contain certain sacred occult numbers or numeric combinations, this is literally an occult signature on the event. Mathematically, 666 can be created when three pairs of threes are added. Thus, (3+3) + (3+3) + (3+3) = 666. Now, eliminate the parentheses and the plus sign, and you have 33 space, 33 space, 33, representing the number 666.

2. Six (6) is the next sacred number, representing the number of the soul of man (Westcott, p. 66). This shows the omnipotent power of God, as this belief parallels Revelation 13:18, where God assigns 666 to man and to the beast. Six is also believed to be “all-sufficient”. This parallels Biblical teaching, which states that man’s great sin is pride in himself.

3. Seven (7) is a sacred number. Van Buren calls 7 “one of the most sacred of all the numbers…the Invisible Centre, the Spirit of everything”. (p. 39) Since multiplication of seven creates an even more powerful sacred number, we should not be surprised that 3×7, or 21, is considered powerful .

4. Nine (9) is sacred because it is the “first cube of an odd number (3)”, (Van Buren, p.40-41)

The triple nine (999) is utilized to represent 666, because it is simply the inversion of 666.

5. Eleven (11) is a sacred number. When eleven is multiplied by the perfect number 3, the number 33 is produced, a number of tremendous occult importance. In 1933, Adolf Hitler and President Franklin Roosevelt came to power. Both these men were committed to the establishment of the New World Order, and their actions impacted humanity greatly. It was also in 1933 that the First Humanist Manifesto was issued. Do you see how Satan manipulated world history to produce three New World Order events in 1933? Thus, a powerful 333 served as a framework for world events in that year.

6. Thirteen (13) is deemed sacred. It was also no accident that Hitler chose the year 1939 to begin World War II, because 39 is formed by the multiplication of 13×3. Thus, you can see how human history has been shaped by the occult belief in the power of numbers.

33 is used a lot in the occult and the beast will claim to be God on a certain date that adds up to his occult number.

God uses numbers to represent things in the Bible, but the occult uses numbers to try to exalt themselves in which there is no power there for they cannot exalt themselves through nature.

666 is not 6,6,6 ie: a triple 6.

Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

That number is 600 plus 60 plus 6.

A tiny chip under your skin is going to be able to contact a satellite? My cell phone has trouble getting a signal from a cell tower in my home. There's no way a tiny chip can contact anything in low Earth orbit.

The belief that the Lord uses numbers to communicate with us is not believing in the occult, or in the power of numbers. It is believing in the perfection of Lord, in His exactness in all things.
