I tried reading other versions before KJV and they confused me. KJV was clear as crystal.

NIV was actually really hard for me. I remember reading it and thinking how can they make out like Jesus was BOASTING about being the son of God as when I was reading it the NIV didnt make it clear about Jesus virgin birth it was like he was some cult figure claiming this or that and not even sure about it.

I tend to like the KJV, NKJV, and MEV. The NET bible has much notes in how they translated the NET bible so this version is very transparent which I like , but I am not very familiar with the version. There are translations that are considered more “ word for word” or “ thought for thought” . Even translations considered closer to “word for word “ are not completely word for word otherwise, they would not make sense.

I blame the kawaii (a term meaning cute) anime girl in the signature and the purple pony.
She's precious. Even when chidding someone for something they said.

We need more people like her in this world.

I heard they deleted things because they didn't agree with them. I have also heard some things were deleted because they were actually ADDED in KJV and were not there in the first place.

It's hard to tell without finding the original copies, or copies of the originals untranslated, and then without learning Hebrew and Greek and doing it myself.

If this world lasts long enough maybe I'll get around to learning them.

Sadly since the actual origional manuscripts actually penned are gone, we may not know until we get to heaven and ask the authors who penned them or Jesus himself

The fact is whatever version you use, there are still people who are up the creek without a paddle when they tell us what this verse or that verse means. Knowing what the bible says is only one part of the puzzle. When I discoverted this I set out on a path to know all the background to the Bible and the New Testament Church which enabled me to put it into context and custom.

When I did this many verses of scripture had very different meanings to what is generally preached.
