What is your spiritual gift, how long did it take you to realize it, and how did you realize it?

And any cool stories that your gift has given would be awesome!

I wanted to see what peoples gifts here are and how we are using them. A nice change of pace from arguing about semantics ;)

(I believe this is best suited in Bible discussion forum because I know eventually it will turn into a biblical discussion)

it took me many many years to realize ….but it has been revealed to me by the divine....only if you care to read and not judge what I am saying will make sense.

20 Largest Earthquakes in the World from USGS since records kept.

THE FIRST Five ARE BELOW
Mag Location Alternative Name Date (UTC)
1.
9.5Bio-Bio, Chile Valdivia Earthquake 1960-05-22
2.9.2Southern Alaska1964 Great Alaska Earthquake, Prince William Sound Earthquake, Good Friday Earthquake 1964-03-28
3.
9.1Off the West Coast of Northern Sumatra Sumatra-Andaman Islands Earthquake, 2004 Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami, Indian Ocean Earthquake 2004-12-26
4.
9.1Near the East Coast of Honshu, Japan Tohoku Earthquake 2011-03-11
5.9.0Off the East Coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia

The second largest earthquake, the Alaskan earthquake is also known as the Good Friday quake because it occurred during the Christian holy day of Good Friday, the day associated with Jesus's crucifixion.

The third largest Indonesian Earthquake occurred on Dec 25, 2014 in US time which is also a holy day of Christmas.

It is about 40 years between 1964 and 2004. The number 40 is significant in the bible.

When the Christmas earthquake happened Jesus made me realize it and when the same magnitude earthquake happened again in 2011 seven years, I realized it is indeed the risen lord.

The third largest Indonesian earthquake and fourth largest Japanese earthquake are similar. An earthquake followed by tsunami. If you take the I from Indonesia and J from Japan it reveals I J which is I Jesus......

another minor one in Christchurch NZ in the year 2011.

and i know there are numerous earthquakes happening everywhere...

If perchance someone's gift is teaching (Rom 12:7) does that mean their
interpretations of the Bible are infallible?

Even our best deeds are as filthy rags, paraphrase of Isaiah 64:6.

So to be infallible as a human is impossible.

I would say the gift of teaching would be the ability to explain things in a digestible way.

What sort of things?
_
Anything pertaining to the knowledge of Christ.

But we know we can suppress the Holy Spirit. (1 Thessalonians 5:19)

Therefore it is logical to assume we can suppress the gifts that He gives as well.

2 verses later it says to prove all things. Don't just blindly accept.

There is a gift in which 100% accuracy is needed and that is Prophecy. No error is allowed in Prophecy or revelation.

My gift is teaching which was given by prophecy from four different men in four different meetings, at four different times. I wasn't seeking it but after that experience and the fact that my understanding of scripture expanded dramatically, how could I say no.

You will find that the gifted teacher is committed to the truth and will often spend hours, days, weeks and months studying a subject to get a good overal understanding of the subject matter. In the recent past I have taken up to two years to investigate all aspects of a particular topic.

So when they give out of what they have learnt, you had better have a very good reason for not seeing their point of view. And no, they are not infallible because a true teacher will always be on the look out for anything that is going to expand their understanding of a subject.

When I started to study the New Testament Church, I decided to take a look at the backgroud to it to get a better view of its life and practice. I read book after book after book on the subject and from that got a good overal picture. The fact of the matter is that the New Terstament Church we are usually taught about in church is nothing like the one that actualy existed.

So an annointed teacher has an enquiring mind that leaves no stone unturned.

Does teaching get confused with other gifts easily in your opinion?

Everything gets confused easily when you depart from the teaching of scripture. As we can see the church is based today on man's denominational interpretation of the bible, not the bible itself.

In most churches, the pastor is the teacher, the administrator, the shepherd, the evangelist, the apostle and old uncle tom cobley and all. That why so many of them burn out or go crazy. Plus Derek Prince has said at least 50% of pastors are pastors because of rejection. In other words they are doing it to meet their needs, not the needs of their congregation.

When we moved to Australia 40 years ago we would visit a church, listen to a non descript sermon and when we came out my wife and I would say to each other "rejection." When you have had it and been delivered of it, it stands out a mile in other people.

We had a visit one sunday from a young man from Prison Fellowdship who told us that when he was in bible college all he wanted to be was a pastor so that he could preach a sermon every sunday. What a disaster that would have been because rejection was written all over his face.

God was good and called him into the Prison Fellowship ministry to work with the children of prisoners. You could tell he was made for it.

T|he uncle tom cobley and all bit means that the pastor is expected to be the teacher and as most of them are not, all you get is a truncated version of what the pastor thinks instead of indepth explanations of what the scripture actually says. The church is weak because of this as all they get is milk.

How does "must have a drink" fit into your teaching?

This is one of those I-am-really-just-playing-around-but-with-a-serious-point-to-make posts.

If you really consider yourself to be an 'annointed' teacher [of the Bible], why did you choose that user name???

(Just wondering...)

So you believe the meat is independent study of the Bible or a pastor who can divulge into in depth topics not commonly taught or thought?

The 'divine' had nothing to do with it - these days are totally incorrect with regard to the true reality of what they are supposed to represent.

"A spiritual 'gift' being an in depth revelation of life, more in accordance with Christ,
and knowing of and to experience guidance of the Holy Spirit. And, this to be upon a real
life spiritual 'awakening'. And, with humility and gratitude, ones character shall be a reflection.
Worldly and intellectual 'gifts' are not to be confused with spiritual 'gifts'...and there being
a great separation between the two. Here, may often be found the hint of 'bragging' or making
claim of seemingly unheard of 'happenings', although some may be gifted with unusual foresight,
and or unique intellectual knowledge and understanding beyond the normal."
( my thoughts ...this side of the glass ) :)

upon a spiritual 'awakening' one should have no doubt. Personally, I leave

I think you can have more than one.
4¶Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

27¶Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

From 1st Corinthians 12

The below is romans 12

5So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;

7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

8Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

[Not to speak for him, but...] here are a couple of verses that come to my mind whenever I see his username:

--"but whoever may drink of the water that I will give him will never thirst, to the age. Instead, the water that I will give to him will become in him a spring of water, welling up into eternal life." - John 4:13-14 [Jesus speaking]

--"Now in the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink." - John 7:37

As far as "spiritual gifts"... I dunno... some people have said they think I might have "the gift of exhortation"... who knows...

LOL, that is irony at it's finest. Has to be true because God loves Irony.
