What you are describing is the flesh. We are instructed to fight against the flesh. However, we can choose to walk in the flesh, or we can choose to pray and turn it over to the Lord.

Really it is as simple as that...It is our choice how we deal with it.
If we must 'fight against the flesh' then we do not have free will.

How do you come to that conclusion? Free will doesn't mean we are like God and in control of everything. It means we have a choice in how we respond and react to things.

We don't have a choice. If I suddenly heard a loud noise my ears would hurt. That is not my personal choice.

You concede that the human body is designed with involuntary 'actions' (do you mean functions?). The responses of the body (variously manifesting as stress, anger, lust etc.) are determined by hormones. If your cortisol is high, for example, you will feel anxious. Are you arguing you have control of your own hormonal system?
The human body was designed with voluntary and involuntary actions. I call both actions because the body is doing something.

The involuntary actions of the human body are more like functions because it is designed to maintain its homeostasis.

The voluntary actions of the human body are happening because of our choices.

No, you don't seek the truth of the gospel and those who do are instructed to turn away from those who have chosen by their free will to not seek His truth in relationship with Him.
Off you go to ignore

Okay. If you concede that some of our actions are involuntary we do not have free will.

Will is in the conscience. It isn't physiology. You are taking things to silly extremes. To what end?

What would your life be like if you had to make a choice about every component in the nucleus of every atom in your body & the environment you inhabit? What would the universe be like if EVERYONE had to make the same choices everyday?
A confused mass of infinite changes at every level of existence. We would probably cease to exist in such an environment.

Just like you fall in love with someone, it's not free will, it's designed.
Trust me, I know IT. The feeling from heart inside but The power of god.

Do you want to have free will?

No,you can not have free will.

Our “will” is found in our soul.

The body can influence a choice, our feelings/emotions can influence a choice, our minds can influence a choice, and our innermost being which is our spirit can influence a choice, but it is our “will” in our soul that must choose - it has free will.

the only thing that I can think of that could prevent the entire population of hell from repenting is by the taking away of their free will

but I don't see how you could reconcile that with the character of God ???
In short, at the judgement, the liberty God gave to mankind will be taken away from those who used his gift for evil.

that is a very interesting justification for those who are in hell. The one thing people who are in hell may have come to know very well is "Finality". There is no free will in hell, only the continual payment for sin and rejection of Christ. when you break the law you go to court and are judged if you are found guilty you have your freedom taken from you and then you are placed in prison to serve out your time, in this case, the reaction of christ will have you there for ever. Is there regret in hell? I think so, can one say I'm sorry? I think so, however, just as those who are in jail today surely have regret, and are sorry many of them will never get out.

There is a payment for sin, and Jesus is the only way out of it, if you reject so great a salvation, doing so, will be the most foolish thing to have done once you have died. The only thing you have then is Judgment.

Our brain is eighty five per cent of our genome and is entirely subject to our hormonal systems. Hence why people can have 'angry' or 'anxious' thoughts.

Great question. My imagination is limited.

Hello @CS1

I don't see Hell/Hades as "finality." However, I do see the Lake of Fire on the Day of the Great White Throne of Judgment as definite finality.

Hi dear sister, the point is those in Hell are not coming out all through the end of the journey will finally be the lake of Hell once you are in hell your free will can not change your final destination even if you are sorry for what you did. Repenting then will not matter.

I understand that most believe that hell is final and once we die, it's over but...... why would the Father give Jesus Christ the keys to Hell/Hades?

Only Jesus Christ can come and go freely in and out of Hell/Hades......why would He?

Perhaps there are lost souls that can still be saved even from the depths of Hell/Hades...... God's ways are higher than ours.....and His love is so much greater! It would not surprise me in the slightest if Jesus Christ is pulling repentant souls out of the depths of Hell/Hades.

No one has the keys to Hell/Hades except Jesus Christ and He is the ONLY Savior, no one comes to the Father but through Jesus Christ.
