From time to time I read through older books and from different denominations.
Quite often finding little nuggets of gold. This is an older Anglican collect.

Collect:

Assist us mercifully with your help,
Lord God of our salvation,
that we may enter with joy
into the celebration of those mighty acts
whereby you give us life and immortality;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Still reading the Anglican common prayer book (1662 ed). I'm finding so many treasures that lifts the heart. (I'm also learning more of the traditional Christian calendar..which is cool(y)).

THE COLLECT

O GOD, who knowest us to be set in the midst of so many and great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: Grant to us such strength and protection, as may support us in all dangers, and carry us through all temptations; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
