Brach's? You dare to mention good taste in candy... and Brach's... in the same post?

I still have a grudge against them for what they did to caramel. They took corn syrup solids, dyed them brown and called it caramel, and now everybody does it because it's cheaper.

I WANT MY BOILED CREAM AND SUGAR CARAMEL BACK!!!

Why oh why must you hate on ALL my candy preferences???!!!

First, my beloved Hershey's, and now Brach's. :(

I'm not sure that I can apologize for my apparently backwoods culinary tastes, but not everyone can be a fancy foodie like The Lynx. :D

Oh, how I wanted to slap a "big red X" emoji on this post, but most people wouldn't realize I'm joking, so, I shall refrain (this time. And boy, is it ever tough to do.) :D

Writing threads is also my way of trying to express my gratitude towards this site and the hard-working people who keep it running, so as long as God grants me ideas and the means to type them out, you can rest assured that I'll keep going. :)

It might just be me, but I assume sites like this run on audience participation, which is always the goal of my threads. People have often told me I should write a book or blog and it's very sweet of them to say so, but I'd rather spend my time and energy trying to spark discussions that encourage as many people as possible to participate and hopefully feel that their voice is heard.
I agree with them, you would be amazing in writing a book or blog.

I’m not a fan of the sweetened coconut but I love it raw.
Yeah, coconut rough is nice but Bounty is way too sweet. The best choc/coconut I had, had no added sugar. The sweetness of the coconut comes through. I am hooked lol.

No no no, I have nothing at all against those cinnamon jellies or gummies or whatever. I just hold a grudge against the company for what they did to caramel. Because real caramel is a treat for the gods and the cheap "caramel" they got everybody started with is just bleh. If we still had REAL caramel I wouldn't be nearly so tore up over it. But noooo, now EVERYBODY does it the cheap, bleh way.

But no, I wasn't saying anything against the cinnamon jellies in particular. Cinnamon jellies are good.

Thank you so much -- I really appreciate it.

I thought about writing a book when I was younger, but for some reason, quickly lost interest.

I could never write commercially, because if there was money involved, it means that outside forces (publishers, advertisers, etc.) would influence how and what I write, which would zap away any motivation I have. I have seen many a creator on YouTube talk about how much fun creating was at first, but now their every move is regulated and aimed at bumping up the algorithm, and I would crumble under those kinds of restrictions.

Even if I wrote a book or blog "for fun", those types of mediums don't include active audience participation, which is what I'm always after.

The only writing I like to do is when it encourages a back-and-forth conversation, so I'm very grateful that CC's forums give me access to the perfect medium for my style of writing. :)

You would probably have to get it posted from Aus lol, unless you have the brand called "Well Naturally" Coconut Delight.

Yes that's it. It also has a range of other flavours that I have yet to try. I'm sure you would have an equivalent out your way. If you have a natural or healthy section in your supermarkets they would probably have something similar.

Dear Kinda,

No worries.

I have several more down the hatch, I'm just waiting for the time to process and write them all out. :D

Writing threads since 2009 and trying to see how long that streak can keep going! I always run out of time, but not so much ideas.

P.S. You're constantly writing comments in my threads... about how much you absolutely hate my threads. Why don't you just put me on Ignore instead? It would make your life a whole lot easier, just saying. Though I'm guessing you don't put me on Ignore just SO THAT you can make appearances every now and then to be able to picket against threads about relationships...

I mean... Singles, talking about dating and relationships and marriages??? Oh, the scandal!!! How dare they!!!:love::eek:

I do try to take breaks now and then so that it doesn't seem like I'm overloading the forum, so be sure to do yourself a little ditty ("'Bout Jack and Diane") during the times when I'm gone. :)
I think it sounds like a love hate thing going on there lol

I thought easter was the big chocolate day...?
You guys/gals obviously dont go in for flowers then.

hmm
had a friend who once said he hated Valentines Day as was the busiest day of all for when his host family sold flowers. He was kinda joking, Im sure he loved it lol.

At the bookshop, we sell a lot of cards, but not that much chocolate. I suggested we have love poems, sonnets and romance feature but boss was like no, they dont sell. ?!
So I put up a Chinese new Year display instead.

He goes 'I want return on investment' whatever that means. If I owned the shop, it would be a whole wall of mills and boons. The sweet series. And probably amish tales too. lol. Complete fantasy Im sure.

But I did manage to order in the 5 love langauges, there is one for singles too, they sold the other day. After sitting there for months and months also someone ordered in THE RULES.

The new book I have my eye on is called 14 blown kisses. It is also translated in Te Reo Maori. Its a cute gift book that was written during covid lockdown when people couldnt get out to touch their loved ones.

Theres also little gift books like the little book of kindness etc.

Chocolate I can actually buy most any time of the year. It doesnt need to be in egg shape or santa shape. So Im a bit over it. we still have malteaser santas from december. Most popular choclate shape is actually fish. In nz, if you give someone a chocolate fish, it means theyve done a good job.

My vote for best flower (at this time of year, Feb) is Sunflower.

You can give sunflowers to anyone, and it makes them happy. Its such a cheery flower. Perfect for singles as you can just give one and it will make a big impact.
It doesnt have to mean you'll love them until their funeral, unlike roses.
