Being an older person in years, I have found that the further people go in years, the harder it seems to be for them to ask forgiveness. The harder it seems to be for them to humble themselves. As people gauge the years, and survive them, the less they seem to be able to find humility. I think the bible did not ask us to be humble in a certain youthful timeframe... but simply to be humble. I think that a trait that is great... is one we should like to keep throughout the years. For if God found it good at any time, then we should want to keep it. So then, one might say if asking forgiveness is good at age 20, then it is good at age 50. Do we stop sinning as we age? Hmmm, I say as long as we are in the flesh, we are likely to sin. And as God said He can turn sins as scarlet, into a perfection white as snow... it may not alleviate us... from asking forgiveness if we err. And if He grant us authority... we might still have authority to find our own sins and ask forgiveness.... even if it be of His forgiveness. But inevitably, if we cannot seek forgiveness of anyone... at any point... then are we still humble?

Who forgives sin? I cannot forgive sin between you and God, only God can. I can forgive sin you have committed against me and should. If I want my Father in heaven to forgive me of what I have done.

We are made to be brothers and sisters, none above the other in one body, the Christ’s.
When we forgive those who hurt us and sins against us. When we pray for them and forgive them even if not asked to forgive. Then yes. You will find forgiveness from God for you have given mercy when they did not ask for it, when they did not deserve it you showed love and mercy, as God has done for us first to show us the way in person.

There's the world's way and there is God's way. People of the world aren't interested in developing forgiveness. Most of them instantly want justice and people to pay the penalty for their real or perceived crimes.

God's way is that we are not dealt with according to our sins; if we were then there would be no one left on the planet. That actually almost happened once and it'll eventually happen again.

God would rather extend mercy to us, not because we are so deserving, but because we are loved. He does not delight when a wicked person perishes, preferring them to come to repentance and place their faith in Christ instead.

Think of it this way brothers and sisters, when I forgive those who sin against me, it does release them from sin, but moreover it keeps me humble and releases me being forgiven by God for my sin. Remember, the measure you give, is the measure you get!

How many times should I forgive? How many times do we commit the same sin against God, again and again? Did we mean it? Then learn the lesson. Why did Jesus say in reply to the disciple who asked, should I forgive my brother seven times when he sins against me? No, Not just seven times, Jesus said, but seven times seventy. I’d they ask forgive, yet understand if you do not the measure you hold to them will be held to you. Remember how Pharaoh pronounced his own judgment? Again and again brothers and sisters this theme is held by the scripture and God. How the enemies of God will fall into the trap they have dug for you. They receive their judgment they had set for those who were with God and protected by Him.

Sorry, I don't chat often, but I can say, that I don't think anyone heard what I spoke of... which is the difficulty that people seem to face as they age. As people age, they seem to keep proclaiming their own "all-knowing'righteousness," and yet they rarely "show" real righteousness. Age, seems to kill many people. Not in their bodily form, but in their spiritual form. For people get less and less humble as time goes by. Am I the only one who sees this?

Then the scribes and the Pharisees began to question, “Who is this who is speaking blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

I think I can speak about age, as I am 96. I find that people expect me to have lost it, to have lost the ability to think because I am old. What I have seen happening is that I have, every day, put the word into my mind. I am very careful of that word. I do not ever listen to what others say until I check their background, looking to see if they are speaking through Christ. Therefore, I feel that my age is an asset. I use information the young haven't had time enough to gather.

The true word, the word of the Lord, is so simple the youngest child can grasp it. Children listen and accept with faith. But the word is so deep, so involved, that lifetimes can be spent searching it with something new to be understood each day. For those who search, who listen to the Lord, there is continual growth rather than them being so set in their ways they cannot listen to God any more.
