I'm a little groggy because I just woke up, but I think that he's referring to a joke that has different variations.

Honeydew melon is a type of fruit, and I've heard people say things like:

Marriage is like fruit. Honey do this, and honey do that.

I think that's what he meant by honey dos.

I guess I call "homely duties" "doing domestics" for they are "domestic chores" to me.

Believe me, I've learned to keep my armor on at all times, and especially when I'm in "Christian circles".

When I first got saved, I viewed "Christian" surroundings (church, Bible college, conferences, forums, etc.) as "safe zones" where I could just relax and enjoy the fellowship of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Boy, was I in for a wake up call.

Sad to say, just about all of my enemies in this world are professing Christians.

Anyhow, I'm thankful that there is a thread like this where actual human interaction is possible.

Regarding dreams, I've long prayed for God to speak to me even while I'm sleeping, and he pretty much does every night, including last night.

In my particular case, his dealings with me via dreams always seem to be corrective (as in correcting me) in nature, and I'm thankful for that.

After all, the Lord chastens those whom he loves, and scourges those whom he receives (Heb. 12:6).

I had a series of dreams two months ago from Sunday to Sunday (one week). Each dream seemed to be a piece of a puzzle at the end of it all, it told a story. I am not quite sure of it's interpretation I am only using logic, although with one particular part I was corrected with my "logic"
I don't really know whether it was God, I assume it was as they were in a sense related to one another and told a story. Anyway time will tell I guess.

I am finding first thing in the morning I am still in contact, without the cares of the world getting between myself and him.
About the BDF and turmoil from Christians, I was sharing with a friend who lamented the number of lukewarm Christians she knew whose faith was summed up as "I go to church", we agreed that the devil does too. every Sunday! lol!

Good evening Ruby ( your time) That sounds pretty special and from above, that there was a sequence that related to each other. I have asked, and He has always responded, that He might bring them to mind the next day that I might go to Him for the meaning, He has always responded.
This morning, this very lucid dream just before He woke me, must have been for this moment that we could encourage one another to this blessing and guidance He is giving.

I don't think the late night, just before bed snack of whatever produces a sequence of dreams linked to each other, must have been from Him for your blessing.

There are definitely different reasons why God speaks to people in dreams, and one of them is for corrective purposes.

I'm going to quote something that Elihu said in the book of Job, and I personally put great stock in what he said because God ultimately rebuked Job and his three friends, but he never rebuked Elihu.

Here's what he said in relation to dreams:

Job chapter 33

[13] Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
[14] For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
[15] In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
[16] Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
[17] That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

There are definitely times when God, via "a dream" or "vision of the night", seeks to "withdraw man from his purpose" or keep us from going in the wrong direction that we had previously plotted out.

I'm not suggesting that such was the case with you because I don't really know either you or what you dreamed.

I do know, however, that God has dealt with me in this precise manner a multitude (literally) of times, and I'm thankful for the same.

Whenever I dream, I ask God if he was seeking to "open my ears" and "seal my instruction" because I wouldn't want God to be speaking to me and I somehow "perceive it not".

In fact, I oftentimes ask God to "open my ears" and "seal my instruction" before going to bed because I could certainly use as much "instruction" as is available.

Anyhow, just some thoughts...

Job 33-14 is a favorite, once we perceive He is communicating with us all the time our world and relationship with Him opens up.
