Sorry to hear that.

I think that I've mentioned here before that I'm "weird" in the sense that I enjoy doing certain household chores.

I've always liked washing dishes by hand.

I must have bumped my head on an open cabinet door when I was younger or something...lol.

No actually off today to get my leaky faucet fixed lol
Hopefully, it will all be resolved soon.

I promised myself (well, sort of) that I wasn't going to post in the BDF today, but I've been there all day.

I need to jump in the shower, eat something, and then hopefully get started on the blog I've been wanting to make for the longest time.

I planned on doing it yesterday, but I wound up spending a lot of time with my two daughters and one of their friends.

I'm happy that I did because we got to talk a lot.

Anyhow, I do need to run, and I hope that the rest of your day goes better.

Be blessed.

Hey, everyone.

All joking aside, I just received some unbelievably bad news.

I've been selling on Amazon Merch, as I mentioned here earlier today, for the last 2 years, and it is my primary means of supporting myself (I could easily get another job, so I'm not in any financial trouble really).

Well, I just clicked on my account in order to check today's sales, and, for some unknown reason, Amazon has terminated my account.

They sent me a very vague email which basically gave no explanation, but, ironically, I strongly suspect that it's in relation to my Christian designs.

They've removed some of them before, with threats of possible termination, and I had submitted one a couple of days ago that's was "Under Review" as of earlier today (designs normally go through in about 10 minutes), so I'm thinking that it might be related to that.

They truly are a VERY ANTICHRISTIAN company (I used to work directly for them).

Anyhow, if you could please pray that this situation gets resolved in my favor (and God's favor), then I would really appreciate it.

Thank you.

Here's what they sent me:

Dear Content Creator,

We are contacting you about your Merch by Amazon account and the design(s) you have submitted for sale. Unfortunately, we’ve found violations of our Content Policy and the Merch by Amazon Services Agreement. Per our agreement, your account has been terminated. All royalty payments will be withheld and we have taken down all designs associated with your account.

If you would like to appeal this decision, please contact us with any relevant information pertaining to your account status and a description of past policy violations here merch.amazon.com.

You are not permitted to create a new Merch by Amazon account.

Best regards,
The Merch by Amazon

P.S.

They currently owe me about $5,000.00 in royalties, so this is a pretty big deal.

According to their email, they're planning on withholding all of my royalty payments.

How can this be legal?

Any advice?

Well, that momentarily wiped the smile off my face...

:(

God to the rescue, I hope.

Wouldn't such discrimination be against the law and therefore
illegal for them to shut you down due to your Christian beliefs?

I have found that my dishes last longer when washed by hand.
I mean they SAY microwave and dishwasher SAFE..... but they always end up with cracks and blimishes.
PLUS (and I love that my kids figured this out one day when asking WHY I don't use the dishwasher)
you have to WASH the dishes BEFORE putting them in the dishwasher

If I didn't have a dishwasher my next step would be paper plates, cups and bowls and plastic ware lol

I would get hold of a good Christian lawyer
I'm currently going back and forth with them via email.

So far, they've refused to tell me what my violation is, and I heavily suspect that it's on relation to my last design that I submitted, and that they're afraid to admit it because I could expise them via the news media, which is something that I would definitely consider doing.

I know that you were just funnin' with me.

Don't worry, I'm not the type of person who takes things personally in general (C'mon, just look at that smile...lol), and certainly not on a Christian forum where my desire is to present CHRIST to people, and not myself.

And hello to you, too.

:p
I used the T shirt quote one for a reason... ;):D

Speaking of which: I hope you get all that sorted out to your satisfaction :)

I'm sorry for the delay in responding, but the day that I've had so far reminds me of an old Rodney Dangerfield joke.

Rodney said:

"I put on my shirt this morning, and a button fell off. I picked up my briefcase, and the handle fell off. I'm afraid to go to the bathroom..."

lol.

In reply to your question, you would think so, but I've actually been through this a few times before, and it's never worked out in my favor before.

I first went into business for myself about 20 years ago. Back then, I sold 8 X 10 nature photos that I double-matted and framed really nice, and each matte had an opening for a text in which I placed a scripture verse that corresponded with the photo. I travelled around and sold them at different places, and one of those places was a Catholic hospital. Well, apparently, somebody who worked there found a quote of mine online in which "I bashed the pope", and I was banned from ever entering that hospital again (they literally had a board meeting about me). Just for giggles, I contacted the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union...I knew that they weren't going to do anything), and they told me that since it was a privately-owned hospital they couldn't help me. They would have never helped me anyway, and that became obvious when I ran into a similar situation at a VA (Veterans Affairs) hospital here in PA. This time, I was reprimanded for selling Christian themed ballcaps (including the one that I'm wearing in my photo), and told that I was going to be banned from all VA hospitals (I sold in 40 different VA's at that time) if I didn't put away (for good) my Christian merchandise. In that particular incident, several Veterans overheard the conversation, and I LITERALLY had to plead with them not to beat the stuffing out of the VA employee who told me that, and I barely restrained them from doing the same. After that, I once again contacted the ACLU, and they basically told me to take a hike. I was also banned from several other places when I sold the photos because people didn't like the fact that they had scriptural references, so, like I said, I've been through this several times before.

Anyhow, so far Amazon has sent me 4 emails which have all basically said nothing, so I'll have to wait to see how this all turns out.
If they don't restore my account, then I'm hoping that they tell me in writing (email) that it's because of my Christian designs. If they do, then there's a very good chance that I'll provide that information to a major news network and see how it goes from there.

Well, on top of this whole Amazon fiasco, on my way to taking my son to play basketball (and you know how much I hate basketball) earlier, my car broke down. At first, I thought that it was something with my transmission, but it looks like my belt fall off in the engine and that it is currently in the front grill of my car. I'm hoping that that's all that it is, but I won't know until I get it towed to my mechanic tomorrow morning.

Other than that, it's been a pretty uneventful day...lol.

Sometimes, you just have to laugh.

The moral of the story?

I'm never mentioning what I do for a living on this forum again...lol.
