The View's Joy Behar: Violent left-wing group Antifa is ‘fictitious idea,’ not 'a real thing’
"The View" co-host Joy Behar declared the far-left group Antifa is a "fictitious idea" and "not a real thing" on Monday despite its well-documented history of violence.

The hosts reacted to Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., saying he would have been concerned if the Jan. 6 Capitol riot was filled with members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter, instead of Donald Trump supporters.

"If I was surrounded by people carrying weapons, people erecting nooses, screaming ‘hang Mike Pence,’ bludgeoning a police officer to death, I might be a little scared," Behar said. "But Ron? No, he’s not scared of those people, he’s scared of this fictitious idea of Antifa. A thing that doesn’t even exist."

You can listen to what she said lower down on the page in a tweet.

ps. I don't watch 'The View' , but heard about this on the news.

I swear that woman was born with her mouth open and they'll have to sew it shut when she dies. Go to the businesses that were burned flat to the ground in Portland, how about BLM marching outside your door and screaming and keeping you up all night. How about David Dorn, who was murdered in cold blood and left to die in the street like a wounded animal. Why don't they say HIS name?! Spare me, liberals, with your fake fear. You let BLM and Antifa tear up the country, beat/murder, burn, loot alllllll summer. Now you want to put up a wall and arrest people?! When you, VP Kammy, were bailing them out of jail?! Really, spare me. There has to be a stronger word because hypocrite just ain't gettin' in done anymore. They don't have the brains God gave a billygoat. smh

Oh, hey Joy, who wrote this, a ghost?!! And looky who endorsed it...

She has to be the most ridiculous presenter on any talk show anywhere, at any time and in any country. She made some comment about Pence some time back that she had to apoligize for (don't remember the details, but no doubt google has them catalogued somewhere)

I doubt her co-hosts are all in agreement with her flubber lipped goings on

In a way she's right. Antifa isn't really antifa or they would be actual anti-fascists. Rather they fit the textbook definition of fascists and domestic terrorists.

That wasn't her intention, though. She only told the truth on accident. She is downplaying antifa and would rather have people believe they aren't a problem.

Sophie, kindly contact Antifa and ask them to send one of their goons to the home of Joy Behar and knock on her door. Just send them an email. Apparently they will direct you to Biden's website!

Wouldn't that be 'fun'. And yes I do know about the connection with Biden. They have told him he 'owes' them. Could be why they are allowed free rein to destroy and riot.

It's nothing but a gossip diatribe with personal convictions and sloppy thoughts mixed in.

I don't watch it. I would need a shower afterwards if I did :cautious:

"Antifa isn't really antifa" because they are misnamed. The name antifa doesn't define their actions because they act more like fascists.

A common trick or the left is to use misnomers. Simply naming something something it is not is effective enough to hoodwink the average person who doesn't look past the surface-level.

Assuming the general population is very simple is a core pillar of propaganda. Just letting you know how they think.

Have you studied the history? I have. Please do not lecture me. I do not think you quite understand as much about it as you seem to think you do. Thanks for going off the op

It's not a problem to me that you failed to understand my point. Your loss not mine.

awww. I'm not much of a follower and it sounds to me like you want one. You could probably start a thread and make all the points you want. This op was about the absurdity of one Joy Behar. Sorry you missed that. Over and way out

Apparently, you need to read his posts again because for some reason you are not getting it.

Here I'll try:

He is not saying that "Antifa" doesn't exist as a group; however, they are not really Anti- fascists' like they would have everyone believe.

It's the opposite. I do know what he is saying and it is not original thought either.

Are you his lawyer? Honest to Pete, a person cannot start a thread about one thing anymore (in this case just a 'news' blurb) without someone trying to 'fix' it for them because they assume they alone understand.

EVERYONE who has half a brain KNOWS they are not anti-facist. Have you studied the history of Germany, communism and the anti fascist movements? Sorry. Never mind I do not really care. Don't take it personally. I just find the desire for some people in this forum to correct everyone else to be coma inducing.

LOL...whatever

I really do think you are taking him wrong, but just go ahead and keep up the argument for arguments sake.

I think some people go on the defensive for no reason at times and this appears to be one of those times...just saying

Well there's the difference. I don't see an argument because I don't care about HAVING to be right. ;)

I will take your answer as a 'no' you have not studied up on the history of the anti-facism movement. That's fine. This thread has wobbled way off in the wrong direction, but what else is new here.

Like I said whatever....If you don't care about having to be right then why keep it up. Seems to me like you can't you seem to admit there was no harm intended in the posts and you just overreacted. I mean...hey, it happens we all overreact and make mistakes at times.;)

I was on point with my comments. You saying that the thread is derailed and then proceeding to create a nothing-burger out of a relevant comment is what has turned this thread into a circus.
