In Isaiah 28:9, the Lord asks whom shall He make to understand doctrine, to which He replies in the following verse 28:10, and confirms again in 28:13: those who are weaned from milk and drawn from the breast; to whom the Word is precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. What the Lord informs us here is that the Judeans did not want to progress any further than their basic understanding of what the Lord informs them in His Word.
I find this same resistance to the full understanding of the Word with the OSAS group, who want only to understand Salvation in its most basic form, while rejecting the meat of salvation. Rather than making this another discussion on Salvation, I hope we can just acknowledge that there are other verses in the Word about salvation being more than its basic concept. Those who will not acknowledge this most obvious fact, will then in effect just continue to intake milk only.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Isaiah 28:13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

And why do you and others want to make salvation so complicated and complex when it is so simple?

Of course there are other verses which provide the fullness of salvation. Salvation is multi-faceted, but essentially it is the gift of eternal life to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

The Bible says discussions about works, about repentance, and about having faith in God is milk.

Hebrews 6:1-3
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary [principles] of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits.

The author here also seems to be saying that the first 5 chapters of Hebrews are 'milk' - - calling them elementary principles.

What then, is meat?

Hey :) so your not prophet and not God lol.. so this resistance is to what you personally believe yes? Could not some flip what you said and say the same about those that believe they can lose their salvation? Could not they also be just drinking milk not fully understanding salvation?

The problem here is you started this wrong. If you just wanted to acknowledge verses about salvation then just say that. You from the start say OSAS only understand salvation in its most basic form. I am confused as to who you are to say OSAS is only milk. Leave out OSAS and lose your salvation and talk about salvation. For me this is something no one will fully understand till its over.. till we are as He is and with HIm AMEN AMEN!

Salvation from the world and its inclinations is basically very simple, but when even the simple is not understood and taken out of context with the whole Word; it is due to a motive. And as I explained, this motive is that some do not want to chew on meat, but prefer to continue on milk. And just like we cannot teach babies who ingest only milk knowledge, so too are they without knowledge who cherry pick the milk out of the Word, while rejecting the meat from the Word.

Yes, just as salvation is the gift of eternal life to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; so is what believing on the Lord Jesus Christ means. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means to believe on all the Word, and not just choosing out the milk verses while rejecting the meat verses. People who cherry pick, in effect do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

As I described in the OP, the Lord in Isaiah 24:10 & 13 describes those who take the Word on its superficial level, (precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little), are they who He cannot teach knowledge to (Isaiah 24:9). These individuals are they who cannot ingest meat, while intaking only milk. This same would then apply to all who refuse to acknowledge the whole of the Word, while cherry picking only the milk verses.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

The Word clearly states there are those who can and will loose their salvation. OSAS members deny this, or simply spin it to mean many other things.

The problem here is you started this wrong. If you just wanted to acknowledge verses about salvation then just say that. You from the start say OSAS only understand salvation in its most basic form. The Word clearly states that we must overcome our carnal inclinations to this world and its lusts. This is what we are saved from, if we so choose to overcome these carnal lusts. If we do not choose to overcome these carnal lusts, we then have chosen to have the world and its lusts to be our master. No salvation from the world and its lusts there. Do you see what a simple basic understanding of what salvation is that most OSAS people are incapable of understanding, because they refuse to acknowledge the verses in the Word that say we can loose our salvation from the world?

So is the LORD weaning them, by their falling backward, being broken, snared and taken?
Is this telling us that only the contrite heart, the humble and broken man who cannot overcome his own sin, and looks to God for mercy, can take meat?

Is confessing our inadequacy the weaning process?

The meat is what is harder to chew than drinking milk. In the case of OSAS, they can't chew the fact that they can loose salvation.

Lose salvation, or lose the appearance of having faith?

I thought being "saved" had more to do with not suffering the second death

Whereas you talk as if there is more than one unforgivable sin :censored:

Jesus said there was only one unforgivable sin :)

Bro we already read in Hebrews that works, faith, laying on of hands, baptism, resurrection and judgment are milk.

Those in Isaiah 24 who look at the Word in its most basic form (precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little), are they whom the Lord cannot teach knowledge to, because they refuse to see the deeper meaning of the Word they read.
So too are OSAS members.
Confessing our inadequacies (repenting) is only the beginning intake of milk that comes with being contrite in heart, recognizing our inadequacies and therefore being humble and broken.

Lose salvation, or lose the appearance of having faith?
Hi Magenta, What are we saved from? Thanks to the Lords sacrifice, we are saved from having to serve sin (should we choose to do so). Prior to the Lords sacrifice, I had no option but to serve my carnal inclinations. Understanding this, should I then choose to continue serving my carnal inclinations, I have then rejected the Lords sacrifice of Himself so that I would be a new spiritual creature, rather than a carnal creature. This is where OSAS adherents leave the picture, choosing instead to continue believing in the basic principal that they are saved from the world, no matter their continuing to serve their sins. They in effect refuse knowledge and remain in milkville.

I thought being "saved" had more to do with not suffering the second death

Jesus said there was only one unforgivable sin :)
Those of us who ultimately choose the world and its lusts are the carnally inclined, who will get what they want. Those of us who ultimately choose to overcome our carnal lusts are the spiritually inclined who will inherit an eternal spiritual existence.

In the case of those in Isaiah 24, those who are weaned from milk and are drawn from the breast are they whom the Lord can teach knowledge/meat and understand the meat of doctrine.

Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
