@GaryA

Look... I love u bro. Im not saying the earth isn't flat or is round or triangle or any other form...

What im saying is that particular flat earth model cannot be correct

Yes it can.

I must get some sleep...

Watch this video and see if it makes any sense to you:

I don't necessarily agree with it 100% - but, for the most part, I do agree. (i.e. - it makes sense to me)

Ok. It looks like there are a few presentations. Ive watched the first one which went for about 5 minutes...
All the stuff on the south pole is at the start...

Firstly he uses the incorrect terminology of describing the stars spinning from east to west... Its either clockwise or anticlockwise... East and west depends on the perspective... I see the crux spinning clockwise
Then it makes the absurd claim that every star rises, more or less, in the east and sets in the west... Its irrelevant to the south pole discussion but totally false... The north star never rises or falls, neither does the crux... It can always been seen at night...

He says you can see Polaris from every point in the north... Ok
Then says we can't see the southern cross SIMULATANEOUSLY in the south...
Two completely different claims and word play here is disingenuous to say the least.

The southern cross can be seen from anywhere in the southern hemisphere when its dark... Just like Polaris
Polaris can only be seen at night... Just like the southern cross... So only the places that are dark can see it.
Neither can be seen simultaneously

They called the crux "supposed"... hahaha cmon... Like we are imagining it in our heads or making stuff up... Gimme a break... Don't give me that "supposed" bs. (Not u Gaz im talking about the video)... I know what im seeing in the sky and the Crux exists, it shows me where south is whenever i see it.

The presentation goes onto other things but its south pole claims were false and very shifty.

The crux exists.
It points south.
It can be seen from anywhere in the south. And simultaneously in the dark areas...
I can see it when Diego does
Then later i can see it when Dwayne does
Then when its day here both Dwayne and Diego can see it

Look... About half of the world is in the dark...
Both me and Dwayne can see the crux... Diego is at the beach but in the day so off course we can't see it simultaneously

In the north all the Asians and Europeans can see the north Star but not you cos your in the day... Same thing exactly

flat earth1.jpg

That kind of disingenuous word play is crap from the video in the first 5 minutes... Don't like it at all...
Might to to sleep myself actually before watching the next part which looks like a lecture...

What are u doing going to sleep anyway??? Its morning there, right? Do u work night shift?

If you like we can try to arrange a celestial confirmation...
We can try to see if we can both see the crux at the same time...

I believe the "supposed" comment(s)/notation(s)/remark(s) are referring to 'Sigma Octantis'.

There is something here you are not properly understanding.

When you examine the Ball Earth model, you must do so according to the terminology and physics of that model.

When you examine the Flat Earth model, you must do so according to the terminology and physics of that model.

You cannot examine the Flat Earth model with Ball Earth model thinking. You must learn to examine the Flat Earth model with Flat Earth model thinking. Otherwise, you will only get confused.

"Let me see if I can help you..." :)

In both of these models, [all of] the stars - relative to each other - are "fixed" - they do not move.

They only move relative to the earth.

From that earthly reference perspective, [all of] the stars move-as-one together.

In the Ball Earth model, the stars are fixed in place (absolutely - with regard to the earth in a short period of time like a 24-hour day) while the earth moves in a circular motion "under the stars"...

In the Flat Earth model, the earth is fixed in place (absolutely) while the stars move in a circular motion above the earth.

In the Flat Earth model, [all of] the stars move "from east to west" (absolutely; never otherwise) - because - they move in the clockwise direction above the earth. (looking down at the surface of the earth)

Also, the sun and moon (always) move in the clockwise direction above the earth.

If you are going to try to understand the Flat Earth model, you must learn to allow yourself to do so from its point of view.

You must learn to temporarily suspend your Ball Earth proclivities while you consider a Flat Earth discussion.

I sincerely hope this helps...

This is why the sun, moon, and stars are said to rise in the east and set in the west.

They are always-and-continually moving "from east to west"...

Yes - no doubt - but not in the same position in the sky at the same moment in time.

Using your earlier illustrations - to one it will be to the left while to the other it will be to the right.

It is impossible for the sun to appear to set and rise as it does if the earth is flat.

Done.

Nope. Perfectly possible and valid. You simply refuse to allow yourself to examine the Flat Earth model from its point of view.

Until you do that, it will not make sense to you.

Until you do that, I will not entertain letting you drag me into a one-sided discussion of your design --- so, don't bother...

Done.

Don't worry about him Gazza... Over here...
Me, Diego and Dwayne all see the southern cross to the south.
How?

View attachment 227702

How can the southern cross be in front of me and behind me at the same time?
Impossible i say. There must be one fixed south pole, just like the north
The key phrase here is 'at the same time'.

It is not [directly] in front of you continually at all times.

It is never [directly] in front of more than one of you at the same time.

Only two of you may possibly ever see it at the same time.

These things are true because it is moving in a circular path whereby it passes by each of you to the south once a day (at night) - but, at different times relative to each of you.

On that first part:

Pause the video if/where necessary - read the text statement until it makes sense - and then resume watching...

Whatever it takes... ;)

Take your time...

Do not hurry... :coffee:

we've been through this. your answer is that light does not behave as light behaves and that geometry is not geometry. it's ridiculous, all previously covered in great detail, and all thoroughly refuted. you say light get's 'pooped out' and can't travel anymore at a certain distance. but you got a huge contradiction going there because we see stars and they are definitely further away. so how'd that light get here?

during sunset/sunrise and moonset/moonrise we all see a partial full disc with the other part obscured by the horizon, like this:

images.png

but you say that the sun/moon just look so small when they are so far away that they disappear. you've got an enormous problem with that: the bottom half of the sun ain't so small we can't see it while the top half has not changed size at all!

flat earth is a big mess, Gary. it's ignorant. it's a big deception prepping you to believe all kinds of other lies.

every eye on earth sees the sun and moon rise and set. we're done. nail-in-coffin.

Garry i did. The first part is simply wrong.

Now. Where in the video does it explain the south pole?
I found it was talking about other stuff

20 minute video and where did it talk about the south pole mate??? Bit of a waste of time

As I said that first part was not only wrong but egregious. It was purposely misleading...

Fact... Crux can be seen from anywhere in the south when it's dark and clear... From multiple positions...
Just like the north... It's no different

Fact... There is one south pole...

Like I said earlier, iv put it on the shelf mate... I'm watching the crux for something else. Testing ball earth
