I'm a married woman, do you think it's appropriate for me to do? If this was a female, I would have done so. Do you not think this is an instance where the brethren ought to be reaching out? And not to be nasty, but it didn't take you long to turn that around instead of answering the question.

LOL.....what a spin...wow!
If you are a witness for Christ....you are to witness to anyone at anytime, anywhere.
Self serving...I conclude.

Over 20 yrs in traveling ministry, thousands of churches, open air/on the street, schools etc. Over seven months of the year away from home, traveling in two countries. Ministered at the biggest street ministry in Toronto with the Salvation Army. Traveled in all denominations that would allow the Gospel to be preached. You wanna try that comment again, or continue to prove your self righteousness and stupidity at the same time?

Did I miss it?! Did anyone say to @Mark that they would be praying for him? Did anyone say message me if you need a friend, someone to talk to? Did anyone say " I have struggles too brother, let's pray for each other?" Did I miss that? Did anyone reach out in any way? Because I don't think anyone did.
"Whenever you pray, be sincere and not like the pretenders who love the attention they receive while praying before others in the meetings and on street corners. Believe me, they’ve already received their reward. But whenever you pray, go into your innermost chamber and be alone with Father God, praying to him in secret. And your Father, who sees all you do, will reward you openly." - Matthew 6:5-6 TPT

I believe that the way many churches and Christians approach the issue of homosexuality is unbiblical.

Churches market themselves as offering unconditional love.
However, all too often they use a bait and switch tactic whereby they offer unconditional love to tempt people in and yet once 'captured', it is discovered that this love and acceptance is conditional on the newcomer changing in whichever way the church 'elders' dictate they should change.
If the church member doesn't change, they may find that they are not included in ways that they were before.

This is manipulation and spiritual abuse, and is absolutely not the kind of unconditional love offered by Jesus.

Before anybody says that homosexuality is forbidden by the Bible and that I'm "ignoring scripture"...
Prostitution is also forbidden in the Bible, and we all know how Jesus asked people not to throw stones and cast judgement.

You see, Jesus uses love to define scripture, and yet humans use scripture to define love.

Jesus reached out to the marginalised, and yet we reach out to condemn.
Perhaps it's in our fallen nature to want to play God?

Lastly, the reason I'm sticking up for homosexuals and using them as an example here is not because I'm gay myself, just as the reason why I'm against racism is not because I am black.
No! No! No!

Does Jesus Christ save a sinner and let them stay in sin?! Absolutely NOT!

Do we love sin or do we love God?!

Coming to Jesus Christ and getting saved is a DECISION to turn AWAY from sin which homosexuality is SIN.

I presented to you a passage without commentary. Why does scripture make you feel uncomfortable? Who is twisting here?
YOU are twisting. It's still you!! Have you reached out to @Mark? Or are you about pushing the blame to someone else??! smh Disgusting.

1) Why would you reach out about prayer when Matthew 6 says to pray in private?

2) Do you assume that men comfort each other in the same way that women might?

3) Drop the personal attacks.

We have to find a way to reach out to the gay community. I have said I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. But the church has to move along with the times in ministry. Not to change the Gospel, but to find a way to reach out. Gay people are loved by God, they aren't beyond His grace. Back when I was born it was the hippies, they were drugging, having sex outside of marriage, and had long hair!! Then came the Jesus Movement, who brought about people like Keith Green, an amazing singer/ minister.

So my question is how do we reach out? When I asked if anyone had I had several of the "brethren" here come after me, showing their character IMO. We have ministry in prison, we have ministry to unwed mothers, we have ministry to people with addictions. Where and how do we reach out to the gay community? That was my question and it garnered some very nasty answers. Shame on these people !!

Whoa!!! Hold on, you’re defending Mark, that means the burden is placed on YOUR heart to pray for him and I believe God will hear you and answer! Go girl! You got God’s ear!(y)

No need to attack @Jocund. He is our brother IN CHRIST, amen.

With that background(?) the owner of stupidity is apparent.

Insuring a person understands God's word in contrast to their life style is a complete and great witness.
Ad to it as you wish.

Pray @kaylagrl! Your prayers are not bound by space or time- they travel unhindered untouched straight to the ears, heart and mind of your Father in Heaven and He hears you….pray for Mark.(y)

I'm going to answer as politely as I can, considering your answers to me.

1. James 5 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another

2. I didn't say anything about comforting, I asked if anyone had reached out to @ Mark and offer to pray with him.

3. You don't run anything here or have a right to tell anyone what to do. You have made nasty comments, tried to push blame and have twisted Scriptures, perhaps you should "stop".

Excellent point. The internet, here, is another great way to offer invitations and solutions to the ones gone astray.

I have spoken to homosexuals who feel unworthy of church attendance. I have assured them that any church degrading them is not a church they should be attending. However, do not ever expect to find a church congregation who are committed to keeping God's word who will tolerate sinfulness...including homosexuality.

Somebody has a problem with men. Just sayin'.

Worked with, surrounded by, traveled with more men then you will even meet in your lifetime child. Ministry is full of men. ;) I find it quite stunning that I simply asked if anyone had reached out to Mark and every single man who has answered the question had a nasty comment against me. Perhaps it's your conscience pricking you. All of you. The question still remains unanswered, how does the church reach out to the gay community without compromising the truth, but in love?

BTW men, talking to a gay man doesn't make you gay. It isn't catching. ;)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We love You so much! We ask for You to give our prayer for Mark power. Deliver Mark’s mind and heart from the sin of homosexuality, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Heal our hearts and minds as believers in Christ towards each other. Fill us with Your Word, Holy Spirit and fresh Fire of Your Love so we can walk in unity, in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.(y)

What are you even talking about?! Where have I judged anyone? Do you people even read, or you just respond out the top of your head?! Man, I'm just so tired of people yapping to hear their own opinions and hear themselves talk. @ Mark if you feel I have been judging you feel free to say so. But I'm pretty sure he and I are good. So maybe butt out when you don't know what you're talking about.
I know where you stand Kayla, it's with Christ. And to be honest you're the most Christian person I've seen in this thread.

Neither you or I have said the Bible approves of homosexuality. Christ is all about love the ultimate symbol of his love for us was allowing himself, remember, he ALLOWED himself to be nailed to the cross on that hill at Calvary. He died for EVERYONE'S sins. Not some pick and mix selection like many of you are suggesting.

Remember, God forgives all sins and nobody is beyond redemption if they ask for it.
