I miss cooking the church community meal. We always did chilli con carne.
I chopped up the veges. We used a huge stock pot and had rice with it. I liked it somewhat spicy.

Maybe I will volunteer again this year.

Do you have any good recipes? One time I burned rice and there was a two foot smoke cloud from the ceiling in the dead of winter. Lol

I had a coffee and a bagel this morning.

For a slow cooker, aka crock pot, you don't have to have a recipe. Throw all the stuff you want in the pot, make sure it has enough liquid to not burn, set it cooking and go to your job. When you get home it's ready to eat.

That's the beauty of a slow cooker. Just throw stuff in the pot and let it cook a few hours. What's this recipe stuff?

Well, I can't cook. Lol. Very helpless in this area. I know, I know, I can internet search it and get a billion recipes. Does vegetables do well? Trying to eat healthier. I like that idea where it will be done when I get home.

Sure, veggies work great in a slow cooker. Chunk up some taters and carrots, add salt, seasoning and water and set it running. When you get home it's veggie stew. (Rather plain veggie stew though... think about throwing in some corn and lima beans too.)

That sounds interesting. Think I will invest in a slow cooker

sorry I dont post pictures of my food, I eat it instead, but last night I tried making fried apples n' onions, that I had read about in Laura Wilders Little House on the Prairie books (Almanzo's mum makes them) and...they were alright!

It was the first time I fried apples, I didnt know people ate them like that, or with onions.

I was watching a Columbo movie about chefs and they made him stuffed mushrooms w/crab w/bordelaise sauce. it looked so good, so I bought a large tub of mushrooms for $5 and a can of crabmeat for $4 and made a rendition of the sauce. I sauteed them in the sauce for a few minutes w/the crab than topped them w/a mild yellow cheese, covered them and put them in the microwave for 3 min. Voila' it was amazing:) And I have enough to make seconds and extra mushrooms to add to ramen bowls.

Soooo, I'm about to make some Thai chicken. *drools*

This is a forum where you post what you're cooking/eating! Take pictures of your food and post it!

Once the chicken is done thawing, I will definitely be posting pictures!

But, here's a picture of pineapple chicken I made:

Fried apples and onions would probably go well together in stuffing. I might try this. Absolutely.
