Yes, it is difficult to tell now without the blue and pink names. It used to show a list of the latest people who was checking out your profile.

I was leery about checking out too many profiles thought people would think I was a creeper LOL. I can't see that feature now. Do they still have it?

I wanted to give you a rep. last night, but couldn't find the feature. Now I know to stop searching for it because it doesn't exist any longer:(

Yeah, no, it is gone, and I know what you mean... it would show the last ten people who visited, and there were times when people would ask, how do I block someone? And they would be told, go to their profile page and yadda yadda yadda. I would sometimes chime in and say, going to their profile page sends the wrong message!!! There is another way to do it, and explain how LOL

600 is a lot of rep power Magenta, especially when the average was probably 6. I liked the friends list but still, having followers is kinda neat too. :)

Yeah, this new system is kind of pointless, and not even the site owner knows or understands how it works (he told me so himself!), and everyone tops out at 113; when the change was implemented, even newer members with less than 1K posts were given the same number as members who had been here for years with tens of thousands of posts and a relatively high rep. The old rep system was problematic for some, I mean, it caused envy and jealousy, and newcomers right away would ask how they could get their rep up, and would sometimes be told that it was meaningless anyways :oops::unsure::giggle::geek:

If I remember correctly the more rep. power someone had, the more points their reps. to others were worth.

So you guys probably had many people being nice to you and trying to get a rep. from you. :D

Yeah, I remember reps. was a big thing when I was here last.

I saw they have added more options to the like feature.

Yeah, it was sort of like a game, if you wanted rep power you had to go to where the rep power was. If me or @Magenta were to rep someone that person's rep power would increase by 6 as it took 100 points to equal 1 rep power. It was kind of fun but of course, the amount of rep power was not really indicative of one's character.

Yes, I do not even remember how the like feature worked before, only that there were but the two options: you could like something (not like now with an array of emoticons to react), OR give it a Rep. The rep system worked in an interesting way that some of us figured out over time. For instance, if your rep number was 134, when you gave someone a rep (with or without comment) one aspect of their count would go up 134 points and their power or the other aspect of their count would increase by one or possibly two, depending on where it had been prior to being given a new rep. Is that confusing? The number that people could see would increase by one digit for every 100 points they received. That means if a newcomer with zero rep points gave you a rep, you got zero points. If your (invisible?) number was at 199 and someone with one rep power gave you a rep, you would go up one rep power because you reached a new hundred mark. Does that make sense? You could not give reps to the same person over and over again without first repping other people, and you could only give so many a day. You could even sometimes figure out who gave you a rep when they did it anonymously!

Ha ha, I did not necessarily notice that... although I did notice people taking pot shots at me, complaining and making snarky remarks about me because they did not like that my rep was higher than theirs. Yeah, like I said, it was problematic, causing jealousy and envy :cry:

Yes, I remember there were many rules to the Rep. system. A little confusing now, but your post has helped me to remember more about the rules.

I did like the rep. system. It made you feel appreciated when you had put some effort into making a post and got a rep. for it.

I've had a nice time reminiscing with you all about it.

Now I guess, I must learn and get accustomed to the new system.

I agree :) I find it a little amusingly perplexing that some will complain so much about the Disagree reaction while claiming they couldn't care less about it. One such member went on from her denials of caring about it to making a thread on the subject LOL. The Doors, People Are Strange. They got that one right LOL. I do recall that people were very generous to me, and I likewise took pleasure in being generous to others, with discretion of course :D

Oh my! So the disagree reaction is causing the commotion now. Yeah people are strange sometimes.

Thanks for the warning. I will try to use the disagree reaction sparingly and with caution. lol


I can't remember how many rep. points I had, but I do remember giving people reps. when I only had like a few points myself. I would usually say on the comment. Very good post, wish my opinion counted for more. :D

Yes, I do recall that thread (though I was not part of it)... I think I remember who
started it also though I will not say LOL; it was shut down for abuse of the system.

There were those too who used various excuses (and threats!) to shamelessly beg for reps :oops:

It's a mad mad mad mad world :giggle:
