Yes, furthermore to put an end to THE sin of rejecting their Messiah, which the entire nation will do at the yet future 70th week GT period per.....

Matt 23:37-39
Zech 12:10-14
Hos 5:15, 6:1,2

Somebody tell AandW (he is on ignore) that the entire nation Israel did not receive their Messiah Jesus at 70 A.D. Somebody tell GaryA too. And Dino.
Agreed! LOL! GaryA has been on my ignore list for many years now.

God is going to deal with the unbelieving nation of Israel during the tribulation period as the fulfillment of that last seven years. During that last 3 1/2 years is when the antichrist will sit in the temple proclaiming himself to be God. So No! The times of the Gentiles is not over with!

If you believe that these things have already taken place, then When did the two witnesses bring plagues upon the earth for 3 1/2 years and were killed with their bodies left in the streets of Jerusalem and then resurrecting and ascending up into heaven after 3 1/2 days? When did this happen? The time of their prophecy takes place during the first 3 1/2 years of that seven year period. When did that happen? The answer is that it hasn't happened and it is a part of the events which take place during that seven years.

It also states that the beast will be given power over the saints on the earth during the great tribulation period to make war and conquer them. When did that happen? The answer is that it hasn't happened yet and is therefore still future.

I absolutely believe that God is going to deal with Israel. But I also believe many things we assumed were futuristic past 70 A.D. were actually fulfilled in 70 A.D. Just like Daily Sacrifice Ending.

Just like many of us, I am looking forward to Israel building their 3rd Temple. I am interested in observing them continuing the Mosaic Law. I am interested in them reviving Daily Sacrifice. I am interested in them living like it was 2,000 years in a Modern Idealism and Government. But I do wonder if God is going to permit the Jewish People to rebuild the Temple. They have on FOUR occasions petitioned the United Nations for permission to do so and even went to their just recent ousted Prime Minister to give them permission to rebuild. Time will tell. But so far, the only thing really stopping their progress is God Himself.

But Jesus (in His Olivet Discourse) prophesied about both "near-future" [70ad] AND "far-future" [7-yr Trib & His "RETURN" to the earth] events, see (and NOT as "double-fulfillment" but AS DISTINCT!)

But what about the abomination of desolation (Mark 13:14
and parallels)? We get clarity here when we let Scripture interpret Scripture. The Gospel writers appear to be appropriating Daniel’s reference to the “abomination of desolation” in two key ways. First, they acknowledge that Antiochus IV Epiphanes (a despotic Greek ruler) erected an abomination of desolation in the Jerusalem temple in 167 BC. Second, Matthew and Mark both use the editorial comment “Let the reader understand” in order to point to a future abomination of desolation where the temple would be ritually polluted again. Luke 21:20
clarifies this situation: “When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation has come hear.” Luke “retains the key word ‘desolation’ but tells us what Jesus meant by it: all that will transpire during the siege of Jerusalem by the Romans” (p. 56).

yeah, end of transgression (sins) does not mean hat it says it does

come back tome when you learn to read with an open mind.
I thought we were discussing Daniel 9:26 and 27.

You were discussing Daniel 24.

24
Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of your Sanctuary to terminate the transgression and to end sin, and to expiate iniquity, and to bring eternal righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.

Well, here ya go then:

"Seventy weeks (of years) are decreed for your people (Israel) and your holy city (Jerusalem) to stop their transgression, to put an end to sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place."

I thought the other poster and I were discussing Daniel 26 and 27.

All along he was discussing Daniel 24.

The sacrifices will start up again once the antichrist makes his seven year covenant with Israel, allowing them to build their temple and begin sacrificing again.

Brother, as interesting as that may seem, you do not want to be here during that time, for it would mean that you missed the gathering of the church and the time of God's wrath closed on you like a trap. You do not want to find yourself on planet earth during that time because you would be exposed to all of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments and you don't want that. During that time people are going to see things that not even the best Spielberg movie could imagine, such as demonic beings resembling locusts being released from the Abyss, with their main instruction being to torment with the stings like that of a scorpion. Then following that, four angels who are currently bound in the region of the Euphrates will be released and they will gather their demonic army of 200 million and kill a third of mankind. That's just two plagues of wrath I mentioned and I wouldn't want to be here for either one of them. Do those sound like the trials and tribulation that Jesus said believers would encounter. They are not, but are specific to God's wrath during that time period.

Daniel 9:24-27 describes the seventy seven year periods (490 years) that were decreed upon Israel and Jerusalem. Below is Daniel 9:24:

"Seventy weeks (of years) are decreed for your people and your holy city to stop their transgression, to put an end to sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

7 seven year periods (49 years) = To restore and rebuild Jerusalem

62 seven year periods (434 years) = 483 years at the end of which the Messiah was crucified

The seventieth seven year period has yet to be fulfilled and is what will follow after the church is gathered. It is during this time when the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments will be taking place.

"The people OF [the prince that SHALL COME]" are the ones doing the 70ad things ("shall destroy the city and the sanctuary"--Lk19:41-44 / Matt22:7 / Lk21:23,20 / Matt23:38,39 "left unto you desolate..." / etc). This pertains to the "desolaTIONS [PLURAL] are determined," in that, "the desolation THEREOF" in Lk21:23,20 speaks of the 70ad events (re: "Jerusalem"), and Matt23:38,39's "left unto you desolate" (re: "your house").

So, I'm saying that "the people OF" (who do the "shall destroy the city and the sanctuary" thing) have to do with the "AFTER" 69 Weeks [total], i.e. in the 70ad events.

Everything from the smallest detail to every piece of the Temple has already been built. It's been reported that once the Jews either have permission or just take it upon themselves to pursue the rebuild, it will literally take less than 10 days to complete the entire structure and have a fully functional 3rd Temple. That is how close we are to having this thing rebuilt. Now, if we suddenly see them rebuilding and we're still here [which could be a reality any day now] I doubt any of us will be pre-trib raptured. The Jews even have their perfect [Red Heifer] they've been waiting for in the past 2,300 years. We are already here in the time you speak of. The Jews could easily begin rebuilding today/tomorrow, whenever. They are that prepared. We should have already been Raptured knowing how close the Jews are in preparation to their 3rd Temple.

The seventieth seven year period has yet to be fulfilled and is what will follow after the church is gathered. It is during this time when the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments will be taking place.

I believe Matthew 24:
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

25 Behold, I have told you before.

26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

23-26 is being fulfilled as we speak and has been but still to come are Verses 27-31

But I see no pre-trib rapture anywhere in those Verses. It's a man made MYTH!

^ There's nothing in the Olivet Discourse (including Matthew 24 & 25) about "our Rapture [IN THE AIR]" because that is not the Subject of His Olivet Discourse (anywhere in it); rather, it's about the Subject of His Second Coming to the earth, and the time-period immediately preceding and leading UP TO that (plus some verses/sections about what happens UPON His "return" to the earth at that point).

Up until the time Jesus spoke His Olivet Discourse (and throughout it), He had not yet mentioned ANYTHING about the Subject of "our Rapture [IN THE AIR]"; that simply was not the Subject Jesus was covering there (per CONTEXT)

The disciples' Q of Him in Matt24:3 was BASED ON what He had ALREADY spoken to them about in Matt13:24,30,39,40,49-50 (when the angels will "REAP" [WHEAT and tares]); and that has to do with "the END [singular] of the AGE [singular]"... [the "age" THEY were standing in and speaking out from] ... when thereafter will be "the AGE [singular] to come," what WE call "the promised and prophesied EARTHLY Millennial Kingdom age" (which is yet "future" to us, and will commence upon His "RETURN" to the earth Rev19)

I agree with you in that, the temple and all its furniture are ready to go. The Sanhedrin has been reconvened for some time and their priests have been in the process of learning the how to present sacrifices and all of the practices performed in the temple. However, the reason that the Jews will be able to rebuild their temple, is because it will be made possible by the antichrist who will establish that seven year covenant with them. Otherwise, I am pretty sure that the temple would already have been built if it was just up to the nation Israel.

The first seal rider on the white horse, is representing the antichrist, said seal being apart of God's wrath. Therefore, the church will be gathered prior to the emergence of the antichrist and the church will not be here to see the seven year agreement with Israel.

Jesus said that He would build His church and the gates of Hades would not prevail against it. Once the church has been completed, then according to the Lord's promise in John 14:1-3 and 1 Thess.4:16-17, He will descend to the atmosphere and call up the dead and living believers, immortal and glorified and will take us back to the Father's house to those places that He went to prepare for us.

It is paramount to understand that the gathering of the church and the Lord's return to the earth to end the age, are two separate events, which take place at different time and have different purposes. The error comes when they are interpreted as being the same event, taking place at the same time. For by doing so, in order for them to put the church on the earth during the time of God's wrath, they have to ignore the scriptures that state that the church is not appointed to suffer God's plagues of wrath.

The scriptural information that you listed above, is in reference to when the Lord returns to the earth to end the age and establish His millennial kingdom. The gathering of the church will have taken place prior to the time period listed above.

Matt.24:31 is often misinterpreted as representing the gathering of the church (rapture). However, at the resurrection, angels do not gather us, but we rise immortal and glorified bodies, in power. The angels in v.31 will be gathering living people in their mortal bodies world-wide who will have made it through the entire tribulation period. There will be both wicked and righteous who will make it alive to the end. The wicked will be killed by that double-edged sword and the righteous--those who kept the testimony of Jesus and the word of God and who will not have worshiped the beast, his image nor received his mark--will be allowed to enter into the millennial kingdom which was prepared for them, along with the remnant of Israel and will repopulate the earth during that thousand years.
