okay, daily dose of donuts are here......
and if you are wondering why it's such a small box that is because there are just enough for those who are here right now.......
we don't want any getting old and stale.
But don't worry! This is a special donut box.......
every time you open it, it is fully restocked as though none were ever taken :p;)

I don't believe that I ever had a donut go stale on me. Yes, a very special donut box indeed. :)

I am lying in bed reading a few things on here. It is about 10.30pm. I always find it strange how it is night here but day on the other side of the world.

I spend a fair amount of time perusing the boards and researching not just what people say to determine the veracity of it but also researching possible responses and even composing responses which may or may not get posted, as I weigh the pros and cons...

It may be that every post deserves a response but that does not mean I need to reply to every post LOL

Not that anyone said I do but oy! Some people are prone to telling you what you must respond to, in fact, someone has just been doing that in one of the threads, and I am not averse to telling people like that that they are not my boss and do not get to dictate to me how or what my participation here must be. Dear Ruby, this is not in any way meant as a criticism of you :) So I hope you do not interpret it that way.

My goodness, it takes a lot of energy to read and digest the things people say! And a lot of energy to compose responses, and engage on a certain level that is much different than sharing coffee and donuts with friends ;) I really became aware of how much it took after my surgeries, especially the first one last year... and also how much energy it takes to design panels, for it was three months after my surgery last year before I more fully returned to that endeavor! CC is really my only social media outlet, though I do of course spend time on youtube, Netflix, and I am also a member of a gaming site where I play Euchre (a card game - have you heard of it?) now and again throughout the day.

I cant say i go into much detail editing my posts. I guess I am slack in that sense. I do preview gifs though because I once posted what I thought was a cat taking a sip of hot coffee. As it turned out when I viewed the whole gif after posting it, it was a cat using a bong :oops::sleep:

Dearest GG, the fact that you are raising a family and looking after/tending to a busy household while spending so much time here adding your valuable thoughts and cherished insights is an amazing feat in my eyes as I wonder where in the world you find the time to do both! My own attempt at motherhood was an abject failure, as was my marriage, though my daughter is a darling and loves me regardless and is such a blessing in my life... she recently turned 35 :D However, I was not her sole caregiver from the time she was very young, as my ex and I shared custody since splitting before she was 2, but he had her the majority of the time and she does in fact still live with him, her grandad, and her only paternal aunt... plus two dogs and two cats, as one of her cats recently suddenly and very sadly was put down.

Yes, and making sure there is no objectionable content in videos is also a must... I like posting ones that are interesting but even one exposed breast or one piece of profanity is enough for me to opt for the very boring vid of a still picture instead LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Euchre is a card game that we were not allowed to play in my family of origin until we became teenagers, so it is a bit of a serious game that requires some skill and strategy. I am not familiar with the card game Patience... Euchre is played in two teams of two, with a 24 card deck, nines to aces only. Each person is dealt five cards and the dealer turns up the top card of the four left over (this is the kitty) and in turn each gets to vote on whether they want that suit trump. If someone orders it up, or if the dealer calls that suit trump, the dealer picks that card up and puts it in their hand, then discards another card face down into the kitty, at which point the game commences with the first to the left of the dealer playing a card which everyone has to follow suit if they have that suit, otherwise, you sluff or trump. Trump nine will beat an ace of any other suit.

If nobody calls trump on that first card/suit turned up, it is turned down and then once again everyone gets a chance to call trump... haha that is, you will get another chance if everyone else before you passes. Sometimes you will have a killer hand if only you can call trump, but someone else makes something else trump before you get a chance, and then your cards are maybe rendered useless unless you have an ace or happen to have a very high or even the top trump card. Even an ace is no guarantee of being able to take a trick because it could be trumped. Each team, if one of them calls trump, must win 3/5 of the tricks to win the hand, worth one point. If you get all five tricks you win 2 points. The person calling trump has the option to play alone and in that case if you win all five tricks, you gain 4 points. The games are about 15 minutes long if played to the standard ten points, but the site allows for variations on this.

There is something else that has a tendency to trip people up when learning this game because Aces are not the high cards in trump! If a red suit is made trump, the two red Jacks are the top two cards, and the same for black if a black suit is made trump. They are called Bowers, right and left. The right bower is the suit called trump, and the other red or black Jack is the left bower. So if you have both of those and a third trump you are guaranteed two and probably three tricks, three especially if you get the lead early and can "call out" the trump in your opponent's hands. But you can call and win a hand with no bowers in your hand, because three trumps is more than anyone else is likely to have, and then it becomes a matter of how the cards are split, and who has the bowers. In the case of having neither bower when you call trump. it is of course very helpful if your partner has one and/or can take a trick some other way, but it also helps if you have an off-suit ace in your hand (again, no guarantee of a trick if it gets trumped before you can snag the lead), OR if you have only one other suit in your hand, as this may give you more opportunity to trump the opponents' lead.

TMI? Haha, yes, it is a nice respite once in a while throughout the day :D

A @phil36 + @Ruby123 I somehow forgot to post this Ephesians panel with the others

I did find and have it open in my design program as a panel to post earlier
but the url for that image is much older and was on a different document :D

Panels like this helped convince me that they really can't have a lot of text on them :LOL:

I am making my cheese and green onion and red pepper and celery and yellow zucchini breakfast omelet now :)

:) This is my "escape" from my reality
Actually, I don't always find time for both  sometimes I neglect/avoid doing things and "escape"....... ;)
but now that we're homeschooling, my "escape" time will be less come fall.....
