After almost two years of isolation due to Covid, it feels comfortable being an introvert. INFP for those interested.

God does not necessarily wants us to be comfortable. He wants to set us free from all bondage, including to our natural temperament. The only way this can happen is if we are in circumstances that don't appeal to us. I'm introverted too but I've learned, by the grace of God, to be at ease pretty much anywhere. If Lord Jesus can cope, so can I, because He is my life.

Your position on denominations is fully understandable, for now I am there too. This does not mean any less praying, studying or growing, just doing it a bit differently. This is in part due to difficult past experiences with the Constantinian church, and in part due to life circumstances. It is difficult to either embrace or reject the organized church. The spiritual church is another matter.

I'm not a spring chicken, but the Messiah sits very easily on my shoulder right now. As I grow the Ruach HeKodesh becomes more and more central to my life. Maybe this is from study and search, maybe because life has broken through the deafness of dull ears and I listen more. Either way, this is a grand experience.

I favor the Islamic philosophy on suffering, having spent time in an American 'feel good' Evangelical Church. They feel that most suffering is for the purpose of teaching, and after many years, some quite painful, I agree. I'm getting closer to 75 years old and the world has changed so much. I've gone from a very rural woodland farm to a high rise apartment building and what a change! I sat in the pews for far too long listening to Pastors attack other Denominations and Belief systems. I only bothered to confront a Pastor on this once, and he was very defensive.

Being near 75 years old I'm not a spring chicken either. I resist being seen as enfeebled however. I use the KJV, not because it is the best, but because I know where lots of the questionable content lies. I think that lots of Scripture means just what it says and tire of listening to Pastors explain it away. I've seen Gen 3:16 used as an excuse to mistreat half the population, though I am not a radical feminist. Not being married is both freeing and confusing but "walking humbly beside God" helps just lots.

Good 4 U Katia. Jesus didn't think much of denominations either. Seek a personal relationship with Him and Him alone. He desires relationship, not empty ritualism.

Welcome to CC.

He does. We just have to wait for it.

1 Corinthians
15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, [and] become the firstfruits of them that slept.
15:21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.
15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
