In the Bible, how many times and what are the verses that God is called a "consuming fire"? :unsure:

Feel free to share your thoughts and insight about God being a "consuming fire." :love:(y)
I’d say seven times because often whenever God is the subject matter, it’s in occurences of seven.
What are the verses? :dunno :unsure:

Sng 8:6
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
No, not that one...the verse needs to specifically say that God is a consuming fire. Interesting verse, though! :love:(y)

Seven, two times...

O Be Joyful!

Whose face did shine as the sun according to Matthew 17?
Great question! Thanks for the Book and Chapter reference!

Jesus' face shined as the sun on the mount of transfiguration!
:love:(y)

Matthew 17:1-3 (NKJV)

Jesus Transfigured on the Mount
1 Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
2 and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
3 And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.

Jesus was examined by the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (Elijah) to determine if Jesus had fulfilled all that the Law required and that the Prophets had spoken concerning the Messiah. He did it! Fulfilled it all! Now, Jesus Christ was the Perfect Human Sacrifice....God's Perfect Lamb for us.

There was one last work to be recorded in His physical body for us.....the penalty for sin and the gift of righteousness. Jesus had to die on the cross....pour out His Blood for our forgiveness of sin and offer His Body as God's Righteousness in exchange for our body which is filthy rags of righteousness.

Hallelujah! Oh what a Victorious Savior!!! His Blood and Body NEVER lose the Redeeming and Atoning Power for all who will believe, and receive and love Him! :love:(y)

Great job BonnieClaire! :love:(y)

All these five women are very interesting to me…

1. Tamar had to trick Judah in order to raise up seed for her dead husband which was one of Judah’s sons;

2. Rahab was a harlot in Jericho and helped the Israelite spies.

3. Ruth was a Moabite that cleaved to Naomi her mother in law after the death of her husband…then married Boaz and had a son.

4. Yes, Uriah’s wife was Bathsheba and she married David and had Solomon. Their relationship was a bit shady with murder and adultery.

5. Mary was definitely consecrated and set apart by God to carry and give birth to Jesus Christ. I love how she pondered everything.

All very interesting women, not all of them Israelites/Jews.

Jesus Christ is King of Israel and Lord of the Jews and Gentiles. :love:(y)
